At one point, I had everything working in IE9. Then, all of a sudden, it started displaying like you can see in the pictures. I assume that I did something to cause that, but I don't recall changing anything of note around the time it started happening.
When you load the site in IE, does it display properly for you? Do you know what might cause the heading and title blocks to overlap like that?
When I checked in ie9 and ie8 all was fine. It was only compatibility mode that broke it.

Hi Again...Now I seem to be having another problem. In the Mega Menu (under Shop). When you hover over the link, everything is overlapping. The site I am working on is: http://shoptocreate.com/index.php?main_page=index
If you could take a look and see what I might need to do to fix this.
Thanks.

I am not sure where the mistake was made. I would recommend re uploading the mega menu stylesheet from the template package.

Well, I tried that and it's still doing the same thing. Any other ideas?
You wouldn't happen to also know how to center the image and attributes would you? I searched everywhere in the product info display and the css and can't seem to figure it out.
Thanks for your help.

Are you missing the includes/classes/categories_ul_generator.php
If you want to center a div in css you need to specify a width and add margin:0 auto;
Thanks,

Hello again thanks for the great template again!
I had a quick question how would I center the product image on the product info pages?
For a page like this? http://thefriendlyvapor.com/menthol-...-liquid-flavor ?
Thanks in advanced!

I tried that...that doesn't seem to work either. I reinstalled my modified style sheet. I must be something in the megamenu css. Not a clue...I looked through it and came up with nothing. Is there a way to turn off the 2nd column? That would work for us.

Try playing with the categories_ul_generator.php and the tpl_mega_menu.php files.
You can also try installing the pure css mega menu module to restore the default settings for the mega menu.
Thanks,

Re: Sheffield Blue Template Support Thread
First, and most importantly, thank you for this template!!
I started building my store with the Andover Modern template and liked it a lot but when I saw this template, I actually scrapped everything I was doing and completely re-did the site with this amazing template. In TWO days. I am a very solid novice when it comes to site building and the majority of coding (mainly php) is entirely over my head. Your templates are so good that even someone like me can use them and look like a rockstar. I think a huge part of that also has to be your readme files and installation instructions, which are probably the best I have ever used. So.. thank you.
My original intention in posting was to say nothing more than thanks. But in the process of waiting to be approved to post on the forum, I actually ran into a question and google has not been able to supply with a response.
On my product info page, I want to align the product info and description on the left and have the cart box (with the attributes and add to cart button) on the right. Basically side by side in a two-column format. I have tried everything I can think of, but cannot seem to align the two and the cart box keeps floating below the description.
Can you please tell me where I need to change the code? I am assuming it has be either in the stylesheet.css or tpl_product_info_display page, right? I would really appreciate it.

Thanks again.

I am so happy that you like the template and are using it ;) I am also happy that the readme file helped you. I spend a lot of time on the readme's and often wonder how many people actually read them.
For a 2 column layout you will basically be creating a layout with a containing div on the left, a containing div on the right and a clearing div below. You will float one div right and the other left.
See this:
http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_float.asp
Thanks,
Anne

Hi Anne,
I have tried everything and I cannot seem to get the right formula. Here is the code in the tpl_mega_menu.php file.
Quote:
<li class="categories-li"><a href="<?php echo zen_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT); ?>" class="drop"><?php echo HEADER_TITLE_CATEGORIES; ?></a><!-- bof cateories -->
<div class="dropdown_1column">
<div class="col_1 firstcolumn">
<div class="levels">
<?php
// load the UL-generator class and produce the menu list dynamically from there
require_once (DIR_WS_CLASSES . 'categories_ul_generator.php');
$zen_CategoriesUL = new zen_categories_ul_generator;
$menulist = $zen_CategoriesUL->buildTree(true);
$menulist = str_replace('"level4"','"level5"',$menulist);
$menulist = str_replace('"level3"','"level4"',$menulist);
$menulist = str_replace('"level2"','"level3"',$menulist);
$menulist = str_replace('"level1"','"level2"',$menulist);
$menulist = str_replace('<li class="submenu">','<li class="submenu">',$menulist);
$menulist = str_replace("</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n","</li>\n</ul>\n",$menulist);
echo $menulist;
?>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</li><!-- eof categories -->
Can you look at it and maybe compare it to another megamenu file. Has anyone else come to you with this same issue? I'm wondering if this is an isolated problem relating to the subcategories.
Thanks for your help. :)

The problem is not in the template package. I would recommend restoring the template to its original state and then making your changes one by one and testing in between each stage to see when the problem occurs. You can compare the files related to the mega menu from this template with the other templates but the only changes will not be ones that effect the way the ul levels work.
Thanks,
Anne

Hi Again...I JUST GOT IT!!! I added a display:none next to the

.mega-menu .levels li ul {/* second-level lists*/

Thanks so much for all your time and help!!! :)

Re: Sheffield Blue Template Support Thread
Hey...I'm building a new site with the Sheffield Blue template. ***Thanks for the free responsive template...it's super cool*** I'm using Zen Cart 1.5.1. At the moment I have it installed locally using AMPPS. Most everything is working fine and I've found many answers to questions searching through forum threads, but there are a few strange things that I haven't been able to figure out:
1. If I turn on a sidebox for the left column instead of the sidebox being on the left it is either above or below the center (main area) Attachment 13116
2. I'm trying to display 4 product columns. I've change Product Listing - Products per Row to 4 and then in the stylesheet.css changed Line 213 to:
.centerBoxContentsNew, .centerBoxContentsProducts{border:1px solid #ccc;width:21%
I had to use 21% in order to have the four product columns to show up (you can see it in the image above)...but now there is too much space on the right. No matter how I tweak the CSS it ends up pushing the fourth column down to the next row. Any solution?
3. Is there a way to have the "tab-heads" menu on the homepage start with something open? Right now you have to click on one of the options in order for products to be displayed below.
Thanks in advance for your time and effort. I'm impressed by Picaflor-Azul and would definitely recommend you to others. Cheers.

The responsive layout is pretty sensitive. If you change the width of the center column, which you have done by setting the template to 4 products across, then you will also have to make adjustments to the column widths in the responsive.css file.
See this for changing which tab shows by default:

Re: Sheffield Blue Template Support Thread
Hi Anne,
I am preparing to launch, going thru final checks, just made a discovery that has to do with the Facebook mod you have installed.
Here is a link to a product on the staging site (remove the ***): LINK
At the bottom, you can click Facebook LIKE and a box pops up so you can make a comment. I tried it, seems to work perfectly. Only no image! On my facebook account, I can see the comment I made, a link back, and a box where the product image is supposed to live... but no image!
Can you take a look and tell me what I'm doing wrong? Is this something associated with Image Handler? Or maybe with the FB mod?
Can you tell me what FB mod you have installed in the template so I can download and go thru the instructions?
Also, if someone hits like on a specific product, is there a way to track it thru the company's FB acct that is linked to the site?
Thanks,
Mike

just installed this template and found out that while it works great, the layout_controller.php in the admin section causes any other template to not work.. what i mean is that when you go to admin/tools/layout boxes controller, you get and error page and can't use this page with any other template installed. i switched back to the original layout_controller.php and i was able to edit all the other templates.

No, this is not true. The problem is not with the template package or with the layout_controller.php file. Check your logs folder for error logs and fix the errors.

actually yes it is true - just tested it again.. NOTHING shows up in error_log - is that where i'm supposed to look? last error there was over a month ago not related to this.. here is the error screen i get:
WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again.
i change back to the original 25KB layout_controller.php and it all works fine again..

I am sorry, but you must be doing something wrong. I have tested the responsive templates installed alongside legacy templates leaving the new layout_controller.php file and can edit either the legacy or responsive template with no trouble.
If you read the installation instructions in the readme.html file included in the responsive package you will see that after you upload the files you need to add the sql patches before resetting the sideboxes.
Thanks,
Anne

Re: Sheffield Blue Template Support Thread
still trying to get this working and yes i realized i did not install the sql patches.. hopefully that will fix the layout_controller problem i am having.. but i stopped short when i looked at the responsive_sheffield_blue_patch.sql file.. the last bits of code update the configuration file: here are some lines:
UPDATE zen_configuration SET configuration_value = 100 WHERE configuration_key = 'IMAGE_SHOPPING_CART_WIDTH';
UPDATE zen_configuration SET configuration_value = 200 WHERE configuration_key = 'IMAGE_SHOPPING_CART_HEIGHT';
UPDATE zen_configuration SET configuration_value = 150 WHERE configuration_key = 'IMAGE_PRODUCT_LISTING_WIDTH';
UPDATE zen_configuration SET configuration_value = 150 WHERE configuration_key = 'IMAGE_PRODUCT_LISTING_HEIGHT';
UPDATE zen_configuration SET configuration_value = 150 WHERE configuration_key = 'IMAGE_PRODUCT_NEW_LISTING_WIDTH';
UPDATE zen_configuration SET configuration_value = 150 WHERE configuration_key = 'IMAGE_PRODUCT_NEW_LISTING_HEIGHT';
UPDATE zen_configuration SET configuration_value = 150 WHERE configuration_key = 'IMAGE_PRODUCT_NEW_WIDTH';
UPDATE zen_configuration SET configuration_value = 150 WHERE configuration_key = 'IMAGE_PRODUCT_NEW_HEIGHT';
UPDATE zen_configuration SET configuration_value = 150 WHERE configuration_key = 'IMAGE_FEATURED_PRODUCTS_LISTING_WIDTH';
i'm afraid that if i install this code it will mess up all of the other templates i have customized for my site(s).. it looks like it changes a lot of the parameters that display things to the users, like image sizes, showing the categories on the main page, and about 30 other changes.. is this true?? or are all of these settings ONLY for this template?

turns out i didn't run the sql updates and now it works so it must have been that... thanks.. got another issue now: very strange ones too.. check out http://www.swordsofhonor.net/ - this site is using the multi site plugin for zen cart so 10 sites are run from the main site.. swordsofhonor.net is a 'addon' site, not the main site... never had this problem with any of the other sites and 2 are using your templates.. but before the site starts, it's showing the config_sites file as text.. here is another 'addon' site that is using your template Andover Modern - http://www.medievalclothing.com - and it works correctly... i haven't run the final sheffiled_blue sql update for the reasons stated in my previous post but i don't think that's the reason..

This is not a template related problem. I would check your configuration files to be sure that nothing is missing like the php tags.

Hey Anne...I'm really enjoying your template. Very cool. Congrats and thanks.
I'm having a few strange formatting problems. The strangest being that the site looks good when first viewed:
Attachment 13203
But when I've signed on as a customer then the menu/search goes wierd:
Attachment 13204
Also, when I go to checkout there is a problem with elements hanging off the right side of the site and the "Estimate Shipping" button hanging low.
Attachment 13205
I've gone back to a clean install of the template and had similar problems. Have searched the forum and played with the CSS...but I'm definitely missing something. Thanks in advance for your time.

No configuration files were touched by the template package.
Check your includes/configuration.php

If you post a link to your site I can take a look. If the problems are not in the demo, then they are related to changes that you have made.

Hey Again...
When I went to look at the demo I realized that I'm on the wrong forum. I'm using the Responsive Sheffield Blue. I couldn't find a way to move the post to the right place so I'll post again there. Thanks.

The slow loading time is not related to the template. I would look to things like your image sizes, are your images optimized, your web host, etc. Also, if you look in the FAQs section of this site you will find a tutorial with instructions on how to speed up your site loading time ;)

Re: Sheffield Blue Template Support Thread
Hi!
I am having a strange problem.
Alle the categories are activated and also my products, but i read the sentence There are no products to list in this category.
The only thing shown is new products for this month.
And you have to manually click the new button on the main page to see the newly added products, is that a normal procedure? I want to show the newly added products directly on the main page.

The template is designed to be a responsive 3 column layout. If you want to use it with a 3 column display, you will have to adjust the width on line 270 of the responsive.css file with your new width--probably something like 770 px wide.
Thanks,
Anne

The products problem is not related to the template. Are you sure that the products in the categories are turned on?
See this to set which tab content shows by default:

i think i understand this but i DO want the responsive design.. and i changed the right column status to a 1 so that the right column will show up but it does not.. i then went back and followed all the directions and started over (except for the sql commands) and i still can't get it to work. in fact now the right column shows up below the middle column..

Re: Sheffield Blue Template Support Thread
Hi Anne,
figured it out, the date of the product wasn't saved properly and remained empty, that's why the categories weren't filled. I figured out another way to add a date and it works. Now 600 products to go... ;-)
Thank you for your great template and keep up the good work!

You need to do as I said before and edit the responsive.css file. I gave you the line and suggested width to change.

anne, i realize you do this for free and that is admirable but some good advice is you need to listen better.. i realize people don't usually want to hear this and you probably won't answer my questions any longer but i spend 10 hours trying to figure this out today and it had NOTHING to do with changing widths.. i LIKE the responsive design and had it working but something went wrong.. after 10 hours of pulling my hair out i found it.. a bug in your template.. in your instructions your state:
Change the text in green to your site tagline, or remove it for no tagline. Be sure to keep the single quotes intact.
define('HEADER_SALES_TEXT', 'Your site tagline goe here.');
'goe' being misspelled.. but nevertheless, if you DO INDEED remove the tagline, the template breaks.. it ends up breaking the responsive template design and the regular design.. try it.. when you put anything back into the tagline it works great.. yesterday i removed the text in that field between the quotes and that was the ENTIRE reason my site didn't work.. maybe this will help someone else and if it does that is great but if you really want to or have to support something, either provide NO support or paid support or total support - not something in between just because you have to.. my 2 cents and again i realize some people can't take criticism and i may lose any more support but i would hope not.

Thank you for finding the bug. If you read through the correct support thread for the sheffield blue responsive template (as is recommended before asking questions), you will find that the bug has already been addresses and I have posted a patch. I have this on a list of bugs to fix in a future template update --which yes, I will spend time on, contribute to the community for FREE and offer support to the community for FREE just as all of my other packages.

Re: Sheffield Blue Template Support Thread
How do I make the useful links section of the footer also appear under Info -> Useful Links in the mega menu? I thought turning the ezpages header part on might do it. I can't seem to get any links to appear there. Thanks. I've tried a lot of templates on this site and SHeffield Blue is by far the best, I made it green though :p

Re: Sheffield Blue Template Support Thread
If I want to change the layout of individual product pages so the product description is above the add to cart box; is it as simple as moving sections around in the tpl files? Or do I need to do something else?
When I move the description so it's directly under the product image it seems to break the add to cart box layout. I guess its something to do with css but I don't really know much about css so don't know where to start.
Thanks

Re: Sheffield Blue Template Support Thread
Hello. I have recently implemented the Responsive Sheffield Blue Template, and I am very happy with the Template and what it can do. Thank you Picaflor-Azul :-). I have however found a problem on my site www.knicknacs.com.au with the product info. On my General products info pages (example http://knicknacs.com.au/murano-jewel...ial-red-flower) it barely flashed up the description before it disappears. Whereas on my General Document items the product description stays put. (example http://knicknacs.com.au/mobile-phone...lanche-720p-3g). Could someone point me in the right direction please? Is this a responsive issue, or am I not configuring it correct somewhere? Thanks in Advance.

Yes, you should be able to just move around the code blocks. My guess is that you have missed a closing div tag. If you post a link to your live site I can take a look.

Re: Sheffield Blue Template Support Thread
Hi second post so be easy on me haha.
My site buyauthenticstore.com
using blue sheffield:)
Wondering how to get the image in the slide bar to fill out to whole box? Im sure its something super simple but i have tweaked EVERYTHING!
Also the wrapper at the "featured" box on the bottom does not stretch the length of the page. Any help with that would be greatly appreciated.
And lastly.... like i said im new haha. I cant get my logo to fit in the top left of the page. Any help?

The template is 980 pixels wide. Your slide show images will need to be this wide.
The background image for the center tabs is 600 pixels wide. The template is designed to be used as a 2 or 3 column layout. If you want to use it as a single column layout you will have to create a new background image in the correct width.
If you read the readme.html file you will find instructions for adding your logo.
Thanks,
Anne

Re: Sheffield Blue Template Support Thread
Thanks for the quick reply!
When i add a logo it throws the entire sites margins off??? Thats why i havent added one.
Thanks for the pixel width of the sliders! Much appreciated.
So there is no way to make the "featured" blue wrapper wider to extent to the other side of the box?

Re: Sheffield Blue Template Support Thread
Thank you Anne, for this wonderful responsive template. On the Renaissance Man site we began getting a ton of SPAM through the mini contact form in the header, but I think it may prevent it (using ZC 1.5.1) by adding the following line of code to TEMPLATE/common/tpl_mega_menu.php:
Code:
<?php echo zen_draw_input_field('should_be_empty', '', ' size="40" id="CUAS" style="visibility:hidden; display:none;" autocomplete="off"'); ?>
I added it just below:
Code:
<textarea name="enquiry" cols="40" rows="3" id="enquiry"></textarea>

I too have been receiving plenty of spam with 1.5.1, I'll look forward to any opinions as to if this is how the spammers are circumnavigating the anti-spam by using the mega menu.

It is.. the contact form in the menu is missing the CSS anti spam stuff.. Look at the contact us page file to compare if you need confirmation..

If you want to use a logo that is a different size than the recommended logo dimensions then you may have to make some adjustments in the css.
I already answered the question about the featured wrapper:
"The background image for the center tabs is 600 pixels wide. The template is designed to be used as a 2 or 3 column layout. If you want to use it as a single column layout you will have to create a new background image in the correct width."

I had considered adding the code to the template, but it causes the html validation to fail. I decided to leave it as an optional edit that a template user can make if they are getting spam via the menu contact form.
Thanks,
Anne

In this case, I think the spam prevention is more important than the validation (which isn't an absolute..) there are some cases where validation sometimes fails for code it probably shouldn't fail.. this looks like one of those situations..:smile: (IMHO..)

Still not sure if it's a CSS reference missing or what.
I haven't seen/found a clear explanation of HOW to css-driven antispam works, but my guess is that the CSS is simply hiding a field from human users, which will be auto-filled by spam robots and caught by the php file. In which case, I'm not sure what is not working with the above code, unless there's something in the DIV(s) containing the form that do something.
It doesn't appear that the ID (CUAS) of the hidden form is actually being rendered or used anywhere else in the packages code.

Yes, but in this case the css-driven spam protect seems to be working on the contact page, but not in the header form, so I think I'm doing something wrong. Does anyone know if it's possible that the containing div's are involved in the spam protection? Doesn't look like it from what I can see.

How do you know which form the spam is coming from??

Good question. I'm just conjecturing that since the SPAM began when I uploaded the new template (and it's been nearly 10 in 12 hours, up from none in months), that it is coming through the new form. For now, I've disabled the mini-header-contact-form so we'll see what comes in (or doesn't) over the next 24 hours.

I've been slowly building a replacement for my live site using Sheffield Blue as a base. I'm at a point right now where I've been going back through and redesigning most of my forms to make them more responsive. I had some older mod forms not using the new spam idea and recoded with the spam code. I also modifed the mega menue contact form so when it fails it plays nice with the changes I'm doing on the normal contact us from.
I added a hidden subject so I know where the message came from... maybe you will find it usfull, I've tested the mega menu and it's behaving as expected... the input field is tracking back and getting cought by the main code.
Code:
<br class="clearBoth" />
<label for="enquiry">Message<span class="required"> *</span></label>
<?php echo zen_draw_textarea_field('enquiry', '40', '3', $enquiry, 'id="enquiry" class="required" required="" type="text"'); ?>
<?php echo zen_draw_input_field('should_be_empty', '', ' size="10" id="CUAS" style="visibility:hidden; display:none;" autocomplete="off"'); ?>
<?php echo zen_draw_hidden_field('subject', 'From MegaMenu', ' id="subject"'); ?>

That's a great idea ;)

Re: Sheffield Blue Template Support Thread
I used Zen Cart back in 2006, but have had no need of it since 2008 - until now :smile:
I have installed this template but want to remove the Social Sidebar.
In the instructions it says
Quote:
In your favorite plain text editor open includes/templates/sheffield_blue/css/stysheet_social_header.css
At the bottom of the file add display:none; to the class for each icon you don't want to display.
I do not have this file - so assume it is referring to /includes/templates/sheffield_blue/css/stylesheet_social_sidebar.css.
However modifying this does not seem to remove (hide) the sidebar.
This is what I tried
Quote:
.sidebar{background:#e3e9ff;-moz-border-radius:10px;border:3px solid #bbccff;position:fixed;cursor:pointer;}
.sidebar-words{color:#000000;font-weight:bold;font-family:helvetica;list-style:none;padding:0px;}
.soico{margin-right:2px;margin-bottom:5px;margin-top:5px;width:40px;}
.youtube-sh{display:none;}
.blog-sh{display:none;}
.google-sh{display:none;}
I also tried it without the '-sh' as this is excluded in the example in the instructions - this didn't work either.
Can anyone enlighten me as to what I am missing here.
Thanks.
