I have installed "How Did You Hear About Us" and cannot find anything in my admin for it. As far as I can tell I have followed the instructions exactly, ran the mysql etc. It shows on the web site and works but nothing in admin. What else do I need to do?
I am using Zencart 1.3.9h with Google Checkout, Paypal express, confirm email address, Avignon template.

Hope someone can help me, seem to be having fun with my site! I am working on www.test.craftwiseonline.co.uk. I have installed FEC with the Referrals mod. This is now showing on my log in screen, however there seem to be 2 boxes, one with a drop down menu and one with simply a referral code required. When I try to sign up for a new account, I gert all the following errors:
Please choose a salutation.
Is your first name correct? Our system requires a minimum of 2 characters. Please try again.
Is your last name correct? Our system requires a minimum of 2 characters. Please try again.
Your Street Address must contain a minimum of 5 characters.
Your City must contain a minimum of 2 characters.
Your State must contain a minimum of 2 characters.
Your Postal Code must contain a minimum of 4 characters.
You must select a country from the Countries pull down menu.
What have I done wrong? Can you please help to fix this? :frusty:

I've installed this mod and although new customers see it and complete the required fields, I see nothing in the ADMIN Section to tell me where these good folks are coming from.

I am using the V1.5 Zen Cart there is no Referal for Admin>Extras>Referals what do I need to do to get this fixed?

i am using v1.3.9b. I also install the mod of how_did_you_hear_about_us.
Everything working fine. But the Referral Sources always go to others and empty result.

ok Im having the same problem as many in this thread.
Ive installed on 1.39h and can see the drop down when registering, but theres nothing in admin, no links to anything to show the referral data.
Ive read several pages of this thread and it doesnt seem theres a fix?
Is anybody working on an update for v.1.5.0?

Im happy to pay the author a fee to install and get it working on my site if he wants to PM me.
Maybe that might help other 1.39h users as well.
Whether for v1.3.x or v1.5.x, if the plugin isn't storing the customer's choices, then you've got a problem with one or both of these files:
a) the /includes/modules/(your template name here)/create_account.php
b) the /includes/templates/(your template name here)/templates/tpl_modules_create_account.php
Namely, the changes required within those files haven't been put into the files on your server, or you've installed another plugin that has overwritten those changes, or you've put the files in the wrong place.
Of course, you must also have installed all the other files that come with the plugin as well. But those two files are the ones that require edits or replacement in order to offer the required functionality to the storefront.

Please do not PM for support. Use the forum thread for support. There are many others here who have more experience with the day-to-day use of this plugin than I do. I only updated the code to work with 150/151. I tested using a clean copy of Zen Cart without any other mods/plugins installed. Your mileage may vary if you have other things on your site or have customized templates, etc.
Dr Byte, what do you suggest if nothing is showing up in admin?
I see a lot of 1.39 users saying they dont have any new links in admin after installing this mod, Im one of them.

If it's the settings under the Configuration menu that you're looking for, then those will only appear if you've run the install sql file. (But don't run it again repeatedly else it will wipe out any data you've already collected.)
If it's the menu option for the reporting screen or for editing the referral source "choices", then read on:
For v1.3.x, the menu is driven by the files in the /your-renamed-admin/includes/boxes/extra_boxes/ folder. If you didn't upload the file for that folder, then the menu options won't show.
For v1.5.0, the menu settings will be automatically installed as long as you load the /your-renamed-admin/includes/functions/extra_functions/ files.
Of course, both versions require that ALL the files in the plugin be uploaded to their respective locations. So really, targeting specific files is moot. If you're missing files from the correct locations, you need to fix them. That's a pretty basic factor with anything on a website.
First THANK YOU for the upgrade! I just installed it and I am getting an error on the create account screen...I have narrowed it down to this piece of code in the modules/create_account.php file:

Referrals don't show in my Customers record.
I've installed the module and it works. I can see totals for referral sources in Reports -> Referral Sources Report
However, when I look at individual customers in Customers -> Customers, the referral source is not listed.
Is it supposed to be? If not, can it be added?
I guess this is how its supposed to be , as even i am not getting it in the customers list.
I want to add the referral source in the "office use section" of the mail i get when a new account gets created.
How do i do that ? I though if i figure out which variable stores this information, i can edit email_extras.php and add that there.

Using ZenCart 1.5.3. Installed v150. On customer log in page it shows the DEFINE statements rather than the results. Have triple checked files uploaded to correct locations. In Admin area am able to modify the sources and can see the report on screen. Any pointers please? Attachment 14705

I upgraded a site from 1.3.9 to 1.5.3 a while back. Also upgraded the How Did You Hear About Us module to v.150. Just discovered that the module no longer records the new customer info under Reports->Referral Sources. Only older stats are there. No new stats are being added. Also missing: the controls in Admin->Configuration->Customer Details. And wondering like others here why I see no referral info under Customers->Customer. My clients says that info used to be there. Does this module (v.150) *work* in Zen Cart 1.5.3??
More info to add to my post (#341): On the create account page, there is a dropdown menu, plus a text box for "(if "Other" please specify)". But those are all apparently being lumped together in the report in the admin as "Other", with no info about what the customer typed in there.
When a new account is created, no matter what the customer selects for how they heard, it is not showing up in the Reports. The numbers there have not changed since January 15th - even though many new accounts have been created, including many test ones.
I have checked to make sure all the HDYHAU 1.150 files were uploaded.
I am having an issue with this mod with ZC ver 1.5.1 - Everything works unless someone enters an apostrophe in the "other" box. I have not tried this other characters so this may not be the only one. Is there a fix for this?

Logs for example installs fine in the plugin manager.
Any suggestions?
No changes are made when trying to install, just dies in a 500 error. No log
