HI all,

Thanks
Chadd, you are right, I'm just missing one last important step > to 'import' the file after the 'upload'.
Truly sorry for the careless.
So just to clarify here.
I added the 'products_family' into Congfiguration > EP4 > User Defined Products Fields.
In the Tool > EP4 > User Defined Products Fields > products_family: TRUE (showing on right hand panel)
Export > download > upload > import are working well.
Hello Chad,
I'm trying to integrate the store that I maintain with Google Shopping.
I haven't been successful with any of the feed generators and Google has changed their feed requirements lately too, so those are out of date.
I've used EP4 a ton in the recent year and it's helped tremendously.
I wonder if it's possible to make EP4 generate something out of the ordinary?
Google requires an attribute for each product that EP4 does not currently support/generate, the 'item link' attribute.
Understandably, their feed requires a direct link to each product. From what I understand of the ZenCart db structure, the item link is not handled in any particular way as an attribute.
Can you hack that in some how?
My only other option seems to be URL re-writing to universalize links (if that's even possible) and just linking to www.site.com/products/id=14384
That seems way more cumbersome than an EP4 solution.
Just let me know!
Bump... :)
All I would need is for EP4 to export the back-end product_id that corresponds to each product. I could take it from there. :)
Have you considered Ceon's URI mapping tool? This would give you what I think you are looking for. The next step would be a way to export that URI...
Sorry for the late response. Been buries, and it seems since the new website facelift that I don't consistently get notified of new posts :(
-chadd
Thanks Chad,
I'm making some progress. Apparently, I can just link to http://www.site.com/index.php?main_p...ducts_id=11022 for each product.
I've been able to query the db to generate product ids along with the other data I need for this.
I'm sure there is an easier way though. :)
So I'm evaluating/testing mass product uploader add-ons. I am looking at using this with Stock by Attributes, and need to be able to update the stock with product attributes table. There is a variant of the 1.2.x version of Easy Populate which was modified to update the SBA table.. But is seems that EP 4.0 is very different so I cannot use EP version as a "template" to achieve what I am trying to achieve.
I've read through this ENTIRE support thread (yep ALL 51 pages as of this writing..) I know that these threads: http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...t-Thread/page5
http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...-Thread/page21 speak to adding new product fields, and I also know that Easy Populate now supports custom product table fields (rendering those two threads obsolete??) But there is nothing that speaks to uploading product data into other tables..
Hoping this is doable.. How would one go about updating fields in other Zen Cart tables with Easy Populate??
Hi Diva!
Well, the custom products fields only work with the products table. If the is a special table for stock by attributes, I'd need the details on that. Depending on the complexity of that add on, it may be "easy" to add a new table to the logic ... send me a pm and perhaps we can work on this off line. I am a tad busy at the moment, but there is always a free time here and there...
You read all 51 pages? :0
Hello back!!!
**waves furiously**
Yep there is a special table for SBA, and I will PM you my e-mail address and we can discuss offline as BOTH of our schedules permit!
Yes sir I did!! I ALWAYS read through support threads of mods I'm interested in using.. This way I get a sense of the history of the add-on, a sense of how stable it is or isn't (I wasn't worried about stability with this one knowing it was your baby:smile:), and mostly to get acquainted with things before I dive in..
Hey everyone, please help me! I've been trying to do this for quite some time now.
I used the basic attributes download to create option names and values for each of my items. I made them all read only because it's just some attributes I needed to add for Google Merchant center.
I uploaded the file, clicked import, and it says that all my items are updated. But then when I go into attributes controller to check or if I go to the actual product page, none of the attributes are showing!
I've attached a picture to show you that Easy Populate says my products were updated. Thanks for the time and patience!

I really need some help. I have 2 issues..
Issue #1 I have about 1,000 attributes. what is the easiest way to place all the attributes and information in the 1.correct columns of the attribute file. For example: v_attribute_options_name_1_1. I have to create v_attribute_options_name_2_1, v_attribute_options_name_3_1. 1,000 times. Then I have to do the same thing with v_attribute_values_name_1_1_1. etc.. for all the different fields,
So all these fields would have to be filled in at least one time before I can copy them down on the csv spreadsheet.
v_products_model v_attribute_options_id_1 v_attribute_options_name_1_1 v_attribute_values_id_1_1 v_attribute_values_price_1_1 v_attribute_values_name_1_1_1 v_attribute_values_id_1_2 v_attribute_values_price_1_2 v_attribute_values_name_1_2_1 v_attribute_values_id_1_3 v_attribute_values_price_1_3 v_attribute_values_name_1_3_1
Issue #2 So each for each item (v_products_model) I would have to put a 0 in each v_attribute_values_price_1_1 field related to that product model.. Does anyone have or know of a program or excel formula that would auto copy correctly the 0's that are needed in this field to matcht the product model to the attribute.
I have a database with the correct attributes to choices for each item
Not sure if this makes sense to anyone, other than someone who has experienced this as well.
Thanks to anyone who can assist..
Hi Walton,
I think you are mixing up EP 4.0 with some other version of EP. I EP4 the _1 refers to language 1 (i.e. english by default in most installs). So you would never have something like _1_1, _1_2!
I would suggest that you take one of your products, and from within the admin, correctly create your attribes on that product. Then export the basic attribute sheet. This will provide a road map for you... and please read the (admittedly scant) documentation no attribute importing from the download package.
Hope this gets you started on the right foot.
-chadd
That's exactly what I did. Was export after creating a few in the admin. I am not sure what version I of EP i have. I looked at the admin/tools/EP but I don't know the version. What I downloaded was for Zencart 1.5. I will look for it. However I will I still have the same issue with trying to place each attribute in the correct column 1 at a time?
My version is available here at github as version 4.0.22 - Beta 6-10-2012 which is displayed on the Easy Populate 4 tools page.

chadderuski
Thank you I have 1 question. Can I use the same product number for my items in v_products_id and in v_products_model..If not does that mean I have to create the same number for each of the same v_products_models. Did that make sense?
chadderuski
One more thing. Using you latest mod now. Inserted about 10 products with attributes. Downloaded the FullEP and AttributesEP files. Then deleted the products in admin. Tried to import the products back no problem. Imported the attribute file and it imports with no errors but the attributes don't show up. What am I doing wrong?
Also I don't understand what you mean by "please use OpenOffice to Export your CSV file" I am using Open Office but how do I export using Open Office?
Are you referring to the detailed attribute sheet? If so, you do not modify ANY of the first several columns. I've explained this before. You have to create your BASIC attributes first. Then you can download and set all the micro information with the DETAILED sheet. You have to remember that the detail sheet refers to a specific product+option name+option value in the database. So you cannot modify the first columns.
It wont quite work this way. You can export the Full sheet and Detailed Sheet and then delete all products/attributes and be able to recreate them. Because you deleted everything, then re-imported, you are not going to have the same combination of database ID's ... so it doesn't work that way.
Ok I got it. Thank you for your help and a great mod. Working as expected.
Hi there.
I am trying to import a set of data to existing attributes but would like to mark some of the fields as mandatory.
ie, customer must input size and also make a selection from a drop down, default is currently 'please select your size category'
Is there a way of making fields required at the import stage?
Many thanks
Kerry
Hi all,
I have got all my images sorted in my csv to match up with those uploaded to my zc v1.5. When I look at the import list it keeps showing up a url for the images even though the csv I have uploaded has no urls in it.
I have deleted the old csv via easy populate is there something I have missed.
I have deleted the csv via zc I think they were in the temps is there anywhere else they may be?
I reupload and download but the csv has reverted back to the old one.
http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...-from-CSV-help
Is there a way to make this work with this add-on?
MAP Pricing ( m.a.p ) : Add to Cart to See Price
http://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=66
If this mod only adds fields to the products table, then you should be able to use the User Defined Products Fields to add these to your import sheet. After installing the MAP mod, look at the products table or sql you used to modify the table for the field names. Then add these under the Configuration > EasyPopluate 4 :: User Defined Products Fields.
Separate the fields with a comma, but do not add spaces, for example: field1,field2,field3
Do not add quotes either.
Your sheet will then export with columns for these fields as: v_field1, v_field2, v_field3
Let me know how that works for you!
-chadd
I have sorted out my images in my csv to have the same file name as the image on the server but when I uploaded the edited csv it reverts to the old csv is their something Ive missed or done?
Is this a question for another area and if so which one?
Yes I am no problem with that the problem is that when I import it imports the old file I have deleted even though I have uploaded the new csv.
If you would attached a data file, even a partial one, then I might be able to help. It is NOT importing your OLD file. EP4 cannot do this. It will process the file you select when you click import.
It is possible that your image column is not importing ... usually because you have misnamed, misspelled, or managed to add a space after the name.

I couldn`t attach the csv as it was invalid sorry. I did include the products model and products image headings. If you need some more just ask. Thanks for the help.
How about a link or non-linked text address to your site then, so we can take a look. We should be able to see how the images are named that way.
Otherwise, this EP works for us and everyone else, so unless you're in the Bermuda Triangle, you are most likely doing something wrong. And part of it might be how you're naming the images, as the last underscore _ is typically for additional images names.
EDIT: Yes, a link to your site showing a product with an image named the same way that you have manually put-up. Do you have any?
No I dont sorry the site is www.sultryseductions.com.au I dont doubt its me but im not sure what the problem is exactly.
What SPH said about the _1 may be true and what is causing your issue.
And I'll repeat again. If you had read the first entry or several entries in this thread, you'd see that I HIGHLY recommend that you enter and complete a product normally through the admin with an image. Then Export that product and you will have a good "map" of how to use this tool.
Please try this.
I will try the export of a product i know that works and use that.
Is there a way to delete the csv file through cpanel besides the temp file? I have tried to delete using the ep but it shows up in the store front page still and im not sure why. If I could delete the csv and start it all from scratch would be best.
I went to your site and looked at the first product in the first category. I right-clicked on the red X to see the image properties/url, and this is what I got:
http://www.sultryseductions.com.au/i...009_108_previe
I don't like how you are doing your images and it looks like the problem.
First, the image does not have a .jpg or whatever at the end, so it isn't even reading as an image. This is probably our most common mistake with the sheets, forgetting the .jpg on the image.
Second, I don't like your folder structure under images folder. We use subfolders under images, mostly after our designers, such as: images/mori-lee and we will put all Mori Lee images there. But your folder structure not only looks complicated, it also looks like an error.
What exactly is your images folder structure? images/????? Note that you can just dump all images into the images folder without subfolders. What are you trying to do in that regard?
Also, I think it would be better to use a hyphen - in place of the underscore _ everywhere but the end, when you name any additional images.
So in general, this is how our images might be named:
flaunt-91101.jpg
flaunt-91101_1.jpg (our first additional image)
flaunt-91101_5.jpg (I usually use a 5 for back shots of the dress)
I also often use _01, _02 to name additional images, with a zero.
I'd get rid of all underscores _ except for the end, if naming any ADDITIONAL IMAGES. Otherwise, zencart might try to read the underscores as additional images and cause problems, as you currently have. We've had no problem using hypens - in our image names.
Try to go in to your admin and take a product and attach it's image to it via the admin, without the EP. Once you get that you'll see how to do your EP sheet.
Also, I BACKUP the DB before every EP upload. DrByte's DB backup plugin works great, quick and easy right from the admin.
Can't you delete the prior sheets from your EP admin?
While my comment is way off-topic for an EP discussion, I want to add clarity to SPH's post by just pointing out that Zen Cart doesn't look for underscores or hyphens to determine whether any image is "additional" or not. It does its matching strictly on the root name of the primary image. Any filenames matching that pattern with any subsequent characters in their name will then be automagically considered "additional". It's not based on underscores or hyphens or anything else.
However, that's not to say that you shouldn't set up and follow your own 'standard' convention for naming your images.
Thanks, DrByte. I guess I just learned something, as I always thought it our underscore that made the additional images.
Also off topic for EP but to Viper: I was going to mention Easy Populate and if you're going to use it for image management, instead of making three sets of images. But I see a product now that appears to be using the Image Handler zoom on small image, so looks like you have that covered.
My main problem it seems is that I can`t delete the csv to start over again it just keeps reappearing and I have tried deleting it from the temp file in the cpanel as well to no avail. The images problem is secondary until I can remove the old csv that seems to overide the new one.
Bump any ideas.
SPH: Thanks for stepping in and trying to help. You've given Viper some very good information... and I agree that his images folder is FUBAR'ed.
Viper: Use your FTP program to manually delete the file from the server. If your website was moved from another server, you may not have file permissions to delete. You can also log into your cpanel (or equivalent) and delete files from your server that way. If all else fails, call your host and have them delete it!
Secondly. Follow EP4's file naming conventions, and do not use spaces in your file names.
Third: Create a DIFFERENT temporary directory on your server, and change EP4 to this directory through the admin. There is NO WAY that EP4 will read from your old directory.
And Finally: In order for EP4 to properly link your images, you have to includes the path to the file UNDER the images folder.
If you want your image to appear on your server under: /images/all/fubared/up/my-picture.jpg
Then your entry in EP4 under the image column is: /all/fubared/up/my-picture.jpg <<== FILE EXTENTIONS ARE A MUST!
This would be obvious if you followed my earlier instructions and manually edited and linked an image through the admin, then exported that product.
I have a serious concern with your use of ".au" in the file path. A preceding "dot" in a file/folder name on linux makes it hidden. I have never tested EP4 with hidden file structures. This is absolutely unnecessary if you secure your server properly.

I had a developer create the store not me so what your saying is new about the hidden files. I will contact my host provider and get them to delete the csv since Ive tried doing it via cpanel and ftp to no avail. Thanks for the help this is all new and some very interesting info.
First off, thanks for updating easypopulate to work with ZC 1.5!
I recently had to do some manual database troubleshooting and as part of the process I ended up installing this version of easypopulate. Prior to that I was using 1.2.5.4 on a ZC 1.5 installation. (With this version I couldn't access easypopulate through the admin menu, but could access it if I added "easypopulate.php" after the admin URL.)
So my problem: I run a shop that sells only downloadable products. I always used easypopulate to upload all products, then in order to keep the downloadable files properly attributed to the products I would manually update the zen_products_attributes and zen_products_attributes_downloads tables of the database by using excel, then uploading via phpmyadmin.
For the sake of my sanity, I always made sure that the last 3 digits of the model number for each product (used in the easypopulate spreadsheet) matched the last 3 numbers of the product_id in the database. This always worked fine, up until recently;
We had to delete some products through the admin (not using easypopulate), in order to keep our model numbers serialized, we adjusted our spreadsheets so that the next new products added just took the place (by way of model number, and product_id) of the deleted products.
Once we uploaded our new spreadsheets, we noticed that easypopulate is skipping product id's; We currently have 238 products, if we upload a new product, we'd like the product id to be 239, but it's currently jumping to 270. After doing a number of tests, I noticed a couple things:
-let's say I upload a test product via easypopulate, and it got assigned the product_id 270
-if i manually delete traces of this product via phpmyadmin then re-upload the spreadsheet it takes the same product_id as before
-if I delete the product through the ADMIN, then re-upload the spreadsheet, it gets assigned the NEXT product_id, in this case, 271.
So what I'm wondering is if zen cart somehow stores the product_id's of deleted products, making them unassignable to new products? This is causing a problem because I'd rather not have a gap in the product ID's (it helps me and my partner maintain the inventory easier).
Once again; what I'm trying to solve here is how to make sure when I upload new products via easypopulate, there isn't a jump in the product_id.... anyone have any thoughts / suggestions on how to make this happen?
Thanks in advance!
Hello.
I have got a problem with categories name.
My categories include ", " and I can not import via EP4, because character "," always divide :-( it would use a semicolon instead of a comma? Thanks :-)
Excuse My English.
If I understand WHAT you are doing, then I can only suggest trying this:
Deleted your items from withing the admin normally, then go to the store manager and "optimize" your databases. Now try to import your data with EP4.
If memory serves me right, MySQL doesn't actually delete record entries when you select "delete". It marks the record location as deleted and you you no longer see the deleted record from within phpMyAdmin. When you optimize the database, it compresses the database and removes all deleted entries.
So it appears there is a slight difference in the way that zencart finds the next available record number and the way EP4 does it.
Hope this helps.
-chadd
Categories Names are split with the carat '^' character, not the comma. Which version are you using? What language? I tested this myself, and the comma was retained in the categories name.
On, or about line 487 of easypopulate_4_import.php
Unless you modified the code, or are using a very old version of EP4, I don't see how EP4 could split the categories name on the comma.Code:
$categories_names_array = explode('^',$v_categories_name_1);
$categories_count = count($categories_names_array);
-chadd
May not be the right place for this but I am using Easy Populate to edit my categories and sub-categories so here goes.
Using Zen Cart 1.5 and Easy Populate 4.0. I am trying to use v_categories_name_7 already in the csv file but when I populate that column where needed, and then import it back into the database, it doesn't populate anything. It doesn't indicate any failures either.
Any ideas?
How many languages do you have defined? EP4's handling of category names is VERY different than EP 1.2.5.4 ...
With EP4 the _1, _2, _3 refer to the installed languages in your zencart. If you only have one language (_1 for english) then you will not have any other.
v_categories_names_1 then has your desired path to the product "top_level_name^sub_cat_name^sub_cat_name..."
Please read the first posts in this thread and the documentation about category names... that should solve your issue.
-chadd
So I went through the first 15 pages of information and saw how you use a ^ between categories. Here is the thing; not knowing this until now, I used each of the V_categories_1-7 as different categories. Here is an example. Until now this has been working flawlessly. When I try to use the 7th column, it doesn't recognize it like the others were. Is there no other way?
Thanks for your help.
Yes sir. Check out the site. I built the entire database using csv and easy populate; categories and all. I tried using ^ but when I attempted to import, I got the max 32 character error. Is there a way around this?
Yes, use your cpanel phpmyadmin to modify the database ... find the relevant field and increase to meet your needs.
This error arises when a single category name exceeds the maximum length.
You can see the other vital name lengths listed for your databases on the right side of the EP4 screen.
-chadd
I replied to your PM... I really think you are using 1.2.5.4!
BTW: You ARE using Dr. Bytes MySQL Database Backup Tool? You should ALWAYS run a backup before working with EP4!
EP4 like most tools will do just what you tell it... it you give EP4 bad data (you made a mistake in your spreadsheet) EP4 will happily take that data and import it to your databases.
I've added some necessary data checking in some places that were vital like category names, etc.
I have many successful users with very large data sets using EP4... one user has over 900,000 records! On his dedicated server he can import about 50,000 in (if I remember right) about 12 seconds!
Hope this encourages you to keep working to learn EP4... BTW, if you didn't get your version from my github account I can't vouch for the code.

Hi Chad...
Firstly what a great extension EP is, I had got it set up on a server whilst i was testing out things and it was all working great.
I've now had to move over to a hosting package with siteground and have managed to install zen cart again no problem and was going to start again from scratch with everything.
When I re-installed EP (using your latest github version) for some reason I can't seem to get it to work correctly. I can see it at the bottom of the tools menu but everytime i try and do something in EP it takes me back to the admin login panel for some reason.
I know this has been documented before but i didn't even use the install sql feature to install it via the admin panel and can't see any rouge // in any of the configure.php files.
Is there anything else I can check here because it's driving me crazy as i've already tried a few things but to no avail, currently i've re-installed zen cart from scratch again and done the same for EP but it still doesn't work.
Currently with the hosting i've not transferred my domain name across yet so i'm having to access the site by ip address and noticed that in the url for that there is a ~ character which i was wondering if that had anything to do with the problem perhaps.
Unless there's a few more php files i can check for bad // ?
Any help would be greatly welcomed...
Thanks.
Matt
Hi Matt,
Did you install zencart using a cpanel auto-installer? If so, then you likely have some "fudging" going on in your configure.php files. You will need to check these to be sure the are correct. A common issue I've seen are extra // (double wacks) where there should only be one. This will break EP though not zencart for some reason.
I haven't tested zencart on a site using the ~ tilda, so you are in uncharted grounds there. No problem using just an IP though.
-chadd
Hi,
I did the install by just copying the files into the right places with FileZilla and then going to tools > easypopulate4 at the bottom of the list and then having to press on install easypopulate by clicking at the top of the screen within the easy populate menu/module.
I'm just wondering if it could be the ~ character within the URL ? Is there any way I can verify this somehow. Unless there are more .php files to take a look inside with path errors?
In the configure.php insi admin includes I did notice the admin directory isn't specified like the other paths, it doesn't contain any // but it doesn't show a true path to the directory like the other dirs are.
Thanks,
Matt
Hello,
I have downloaded EasyPopulate CSV for ZenCart 1.5
I get an error when I run the SQL script - WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again.
Easy Populate doesn't show in the menu.
I have followed all the steps, and can somewhat access EasyPopulate by entering localhost/zencart/admin/easypopulate.php
The bottom of my screen has a bunch of code (I've pasted the image below).
When I do download the csv, it's blank - only headers.
I would appreciate any help!!
Thanks,
Amber

Just uplaoded 4.0 to transfer product info from one zencart store to another. The store with the info was 1.39 version and the new store is 1.5. I was able to transfer the info except the catagory description was not there or the catagory image........any thoughts?
I am able to manualy upload the description via the zencart admin but I still cannot get the catagory image to show up. The product image is showing just not the catagory image and in most cases it is the same image as the product.......any help?
Also by uploading it via easy populate can I still use all the editing options the zencart admin has?.........adding the catagory image doesn't seem to work.
Having a "Cosmetic" issue with EP
Before today it was fine and dandy no issues the files showed up nice and in the decorative box.
However today I get what you see in the attached image.
Nothing has been added (as far as other plugins etc)
All files are in tempEP as they should be.
Any Ideas?
OK just deleted and reinstalled using the Easy Populate For ZenCart v1.5
Now it looks all pretty again.
You are editing the category from within the Admin, and unable to set the category image? Make sure you have the correct path set when editing. This is probably what your are doing wrong. Remeber that /images is assumed as the Main Directory from the drop box.
There IS a way to use EP4 to set category images and descriptions on import, but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU BACKUP YOUR STORE before playing with this. It is a one-to-one update based on the category ID.
Under Category Export/Import Options select >> Categories Only (with Metatags)
Export for each store. Note that your category ID's will NOT be the same between the two stores, so you will have to copy/paste from one sheet to the other. If all your category names are unique, it may be easy.
TEST with just a couple categories until you know what you are doing.
Hope this helps!
I even manualy add the catagory pics via zencart admin and they don't show up, although the image is listed in the edit catagory page.
I also noticed I didn't want the quantity of products to show to the public and manual change it in zencart admin, it warns me that the option has been chosen yet they still show up in the store...............whay is the zencart admin not working?......does EP4 override it?
I am running EP 4 on zencart 1.5
I have been having strange things happening since I added the products with it. I down loaded the info from my other site and the info is showing correctly on the admin. But during check-out the weight of the items are different and it is showing the quantity of items even though the admin warns that I have it not showing. I downloaded the CSV file to look at it and noticed the description column width is way too small and the data was overlapping the other columns?...........could this be a problem?
I tried making the descp. column wider but it will only go to 100cm with Open office......................what are other people doing who's descptions are longer?
I figured out the open office width problem but it didn't fix the issue. The shipping estimater shows the item weights 2lbs at the top of the box but the the calculation it show 1 x 5lbs and is chargeing more for shipping. The quantity is till showing to the public too.
For anyone with the same problems I figured out the weight issues....got to admin>config>shipping> set the tare weight to 0:0.
Anyone help with the quantity showing and the catagory pics not showing up?
Another update.........I got the product quanity to stop appearing.
The show prduct quantity option in the product listing area had no effect but if you go to Admin, Catalog, Product Type, Product - General and edit layout. Turn off quantity in stock and model. That should do it for you.
Hope this is helping people.........sorry for the posts in a row.
Hey Chadd - Im looking to start up on the auto populate (GET xml or CSV > populate) functionality for EP4. Where did you leave off on that?

Can't get v_categories_name_2 to show up on my site using this add-on.
I used a Tab Delimited spreadsheet as a template.
Added 1 product.
Cat 1 is Apparel, Cat 2 is hoodies
Saved as a Comma Delimited Text CSV (Open Office)
Uploaded the file
Inserted the file
The product shows up under the main category but the new sub0cat (hoodies) does nor show up in the Categories Menu.
seriousoffroadproducts . com
Mouse over the "Apparel" heading in the categories menu and you'll see the Teeshirt sub-cat.
Click on the "Apparel" heading in the categories menu and the hoodie pops up.
Thought I had this figured out....but apparently not.
Anyone?
Serious,
You need to read the first post of this thread. EP4 is NOT that same as 1.2.5.4. Namely:
3) Categories are handled differently from other versions of EP. You can now import mult-lingual categories (Like Products Names, etc.).
To achieve this, each v_categories_names_1, v_categories_names_2, ... correspond to a language installed in your system, and individual category names are separated by the Carat "^" symbol. For Example: Bar Supplies^Glass Washers^Brushes
-chadd
I saw that Chadd and I did add the ^ symbol, but apparently not in the right place.
I realize tht EP is different from the version I was using (1.2.5.4) and am stuck on how my spread sheet should look. I still have the following column headings:
v_products_model v_products_image v_products_name_1 v_products_description_1 v_products_url_1 v_specials_price v_specials_date_avail v_specials_expires_date v_products_price v_products_shipping_code v_date_avail v_date_added v_products_quantity v_manufacturers_name v_categories_name_1 v_categories_name_2 v_categories_name_3 v_categories_name_4 v_categories_name_5 v_categories_name_6 v_categories_name_7 v_tax_class_title v_status EOREOR
Nope!
I've already got zc1.5 up and running. I just recently upgraded from 1.39h
This is the first new product I've attempted to add since the upgrade.
All other products were already there on my site so I'm a bit behind the curve with regards to this add-on.
Hell I'm behind the curve on all of this stuff!! ;)
Can you advise on how I uninstall the version I have?
Thanks,
Amber
I am getting an error when I try to import my file that says "no category provided for this new product", what am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Hi Chadd,
Before I download and install this version, how do I uninstall the one I have??
Thanks,
Amber
Chad,
Just wanted to stop by and say thank you again for all of your hard work! Your labors have made my life a lot easier!
I finally updated EP4 and the Attributes upgrades are amazing, thank you.
I've been using EP4 for all of my import/export needs for over a year.
So, again... thank you Chad!
I have a client who asked me to take over managing products on there ZenCart, and I am trying to get the EasyPopulate 4 to work. I do not see the EasyPopulate 4 option under the Configuration Menu, or Tools Menu after copying all the files to where I think they belong. The root of the site is /web, the admin folder is located at /web/catalog/admin, there is a temp folder at /web/catalog/admin/temp, and at /web/catalog/temp, and /web/temp. The store is located at /web/store, includes are located at /web/catalog/includes, and boxes/extra_boxes is under includes. Can anyone help me figure out why I do not see the EasyPopulate option under Configuration? Thanks. SunOS 5.10, PHP Version 4.4.8, MySQL 4.1.22, ZenCart 1.3.9d.
How do you change the length / amount of characters you can import in the different sections? It is cutting off a lot of my product descriptions without importing the description in its entirety?
I suspect you changed it in the admin -> configuration -> product listing section. That only affects the product listing description, not the individual product display.
I don't think, in any event, that this is an EP issue. I have very long descriptions and have made no description setup changes. I think you may have some code in your upload file that results in cutting it off.
Paste a full one into a product definition through admin. Does that one work?
Yes, I think you are right! Is the import corrupted if quotes are used? (i.e. "word")?
Hi Doc!
Yes, I do agree. I've been so buried that I haven't done any updates even to github since mid-summer! I do have some days off coming up and will take time to wrap this up and submit. I guess it will never be "perfect", but I do try to get it close ;p

Hi All!
First let me say that I'm sorry I haven't responded to any of the recent posts. I haven't been getting my notifications for some reason!
