uploading the bmz folder only uploaded the cached images...what you could do is try this:
go to your admin panel of the test store > tools > ih2 > admin in its navigation and delete the cache.
then uload the images folder from the store you got the bmz folder from.
this way the ih2 can grab the image and make the cached on its own.
the test store...do you have the items listed in categories like the first one? is it a store with nothing added from the live store?
I am sorry I did not see a link anywhere.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I had additional images installed before I installed this mod. I installed it and the additional images disappeared. When I go to the IH2 manager it shows that the images are being loaded but it shows a broken image link in the admin and the additional images don't show on the product page. Any ideas?

did you make sure you uploaded everything intothe proper folders on your server?
did you visually verify the names of the additional images...for isntance that they match the primary image with extension...png for png additionals, jpg for jpg additionals gif for gif
if you mic them up they will not show. If they are in the lrg or medium folders then they may not show up either.
a link would be grand to let diva and the ones that are more familiar with the internal workings of this wonderful mod
but first I would check the files oh yes and I think the additional images file needs to be merged as well as one other one that I can't remember off hand so if you did not merge or edit the file you had that also can cause problems....

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Is there any way to remove this mod from the data base with out doing it through the admin panel. I'm having some other issues with my admin that won't allow me to do so.

Yes, but....
First you should back up your data base and you should only remove IH from the database if you're uninstalling the mod altogether.
Note: If you're having other problems in your admin, there may be more going on than just your troubles with IH.
To remove IH from your database, log in to your cpanel and go to PHPMyAdmin.
Select the Zen Cart database by clicking on it. Once there, go to the search tab. Select "all words" and type in IH
Beneath that, click on "Select all" to select all database tables. Then click "go". This should bring up a list of all tables that reference "IH" in any way. Be aware that not all of the results are related to Image Handler, so be careful what you delete.
Once completed, you can repeat the process using Image Handler as the search string (instead of IH) to see if there's anything left over.
In my database, all my IH files were in the zen_configuration table. Anything else it found was unrelated. But everyone's database will be different depending on what you have installed and how you have things configured.
Be very selective. If you hose your db, you hose your entire store.
Always back up your database before you do anything in there. Even if you're just looking around with no intention of making any changes...one time I was doing just that (browsing) and one of my dogs jumped on my arm, causing my hand to slide the mouse pointer to "delete" and when I tried to shrug the dog off me, I clicked the mouse button.
Accidents happen - db backups are essential - even for browsing.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Wow this is so frustrating!!
I obtained new watermarks that are the exact size as the origal watermarks and they still aren't showing up.

The hover function seems to be working okay.
I've viewed the site with MSNExplorer and Firefox, no watermark on either.
Any suggestions?

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi,
I installed IH, and seems it's all ok save one thing:
while the main image larger view opens zen-lightbox, the additional images open the large images into the browser window.
www amberprecious com/bracelets/amber-bracelet-0101
What did I miss, and how to correct it?
Thank you.

They do not have to be the same size.. They DO have to be the same FILE NAME and FILE FORMAT as the ones that come with IH2. Do your watermarks meet that criteria??

You will need to post your question on the lightbox support thread as I'm afraid this is not an IH2 issue, but an issue with your lightbox install..

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Maybe I'm going about this the wrong way.
When istalling IH2, should I just drag and drop the contents (files and folders) of "Store Root" folder into my Public_HTML dir.?
I've got access to IH through my Admin Contol Panel so I assume my initial installation was correct...but now I'm starting to second-guess the install.

I replaced the originals when I FTP'd the new images.

Tried that a few times, no change.
Anyone able to answer my question a few posts back regarding installation?

If there was a problem with your install you wouldn't see IH2 at all in the admin..
When you say "tried that a few times" do mean just clicking the "Clear Cache" link or my second suggestion of deleting all the generated cache folders via FTP..
-
Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I cleared the cache via the Admin Panel and then looked at the contents of the folder. No image files there after clearing the cache.
i'm gonna reinstall IH2 and see what happens.

what are your actual image settings?
have you tried clearing the cache or even deleteing the bmz_cache folders that may be in there.

We've discussing exactly that in the last half dozen or so posts.
Going to get busy re-installing IH2.
Back soon with results.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi
I'm using ZenCart 1.3.7.1 for one of my customers (planning a full upgrade over the next month or so) and recently added Zen LightBox at their request. However, after that install the additional images ceased to display. I found that people said that Image Handler solves this issue, so installed Image Handler Version 2 for 1.3.7.
However, although the install works fine and I can see the additional images in the Admin area for IH, I still do not see the additional images on the products themselves.
I found on this thread http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...35913&page=645 that apparently the order in which these two mods are installed makes a difference, but apparently the additional_images.php file is the key and the ZLB should be the one used. I've made sure that this is one being used but still see no additional images.
Can anyone tell me which bit of code actually controls the appearance of the additional images?
Thanks

which version exactly are you using of IH2...the current one rev8d I thinks is for the newest cart software NOT that old of one.
not sure if it will work but I am positive someone will tell us for certain. (files were rewritten for the newer version of cart.
when I was running that version and lightbox I had to merge a couple of files to get it to work right
link to the store would help a lot as well as seeing what your settings are for ih2 from admin/configuration/images

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Hi Dark Angel,
Good to hear from ya! I did empty the cache from the new test site admin. Then I took a look at the bmz_cache folder on the new test site and the images are still there in the folders. Not all folders are there however. Some were emptied and removed. I did not re-upload the bmz_cache folder from the old test site because I am not sure what to do at this point.
I will email you about the old site in a few.
Thanks for helping.

ok cause as for the bmz_cache folder just delete everything in there leaving only the .keep and .htaccess files there the IH2 will recreate all the image caches again.
I shall be waiting.

if inded you do have the medium sized image to see it larger then look at your settings. there are several setting that MUST be alike for the pop up to work right
the following settings must match the Small Image Width and Small Image Height settings:
- Subcategory Image Width
- Subcategory Image Height
- Image - Product Listing Width
- Image - Product Listing Height
- Image - Product New Listing Width
- Image - Product New Listing Height
- Image - New Products Width
- Image - New Products Height
- Image - Featured Products Width
- Image - Featured Products Height
- Image - Product All Listing Width
- Image - Product All Listing Height
These settings are all updated in Admin > Configuration > Images.
now on mine I will admit the small image size has one size and I have no sub category images so that one is blank
as for the others they are according to the area...note that the small image is one size....the product info image is the intermediate size then the others match the small image size

Hi DivaVocals
Thanks for the reply.
I am using ZLB Version 1.4 for Zen Cart 1.3.7.1 and IH Version 2.0 for Zen-Cart v1.3.7. The version of Zen Cart is 1.3.7.1

thanks, yes that is the one that needs to have the files merged from lightbox and ih2
pm me with your information to your servers ftp and I can go take a look at them to see if they were merged or not, I think I still have the zips to both those versions too since I have a couple of clients running 1.3.8 that think maybe the hackers will leave them alone
1.39.h is by far the safest one against hackers too.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
Thank you all for your replies. I'm using Product General and the Additional Images setting is set correctly. I'd forgotten about that setting, so it was definitely worth the check. Before I raised my question I had a really good look through the thread and although the question arises in a few places, the suggestions and responses have all proved to be OK and in place in my version.
I think, given that this appears to be an issue that would take quite a lot of ferreting around to fix and it is a version that very few people have running now, it would be better to suggest to my customers that it would be more sensible to spend the time (and money) on upgrading to the newest version as soon as possible.
Once again - thanks for the help and suggestions.

Excellent conclusion. You may also want to remind your clients that there are security issues at stake also. The newest version is the most secure yet. The Zen Cart community and programmers have been working hard to earn recognition and important certification... in order to meet the criteria to recieve that, the cart has to meet certain standards. The older versions do not.
Selling point 1: Best practice for serious business people is to run the latest and most secure software on their websites, especially if they want to be taken seriously in the business community. (i.e. advertisers and affiliates who can increase a store owner's profits pretty much only want to associate their businesses with those of a similar seriousness and reputation).
Selling point 2: Customers are more saavy than they were even just five years ago....informed and experienced web shoppers will not buy from a store run with software that has known security issues, and - they know how to find out what the store is using.
Upgrading both zc and mods is definitely worth the money they have to pay you to do it for them.

Quite honestly that was going to be my suggestion anyway.. Perhaps the way to phrase it to them is to let them know that that there really isn't any support available for IH2 under Zen Cart 1.3.7, and not much more for Zen Cart v.1.3.7 in general.. There are a TON of security and functionality enhancements that will come out of upgrading.. This seems the better use for your client's effort IMHO..

How can I change the size of the images when you hover an image?
Right now if I hover an image with my mouse a big image pops up,can I change that size?
Have a look at my site here: http://silvaro.nl

How can I change the size of the images when you hover an image?
Right now if I hover an image with my mouse a big image pops up,can I change that size?
Have a look at my site here:
http://silvaro.nl
Thanks for your advice.
Richard
1) what are these set to
Product Info - Image Width
Product Info - Image Height
as those are both the hover settings and the productinfo page image settings.
Have you made any changes to the standard Image handler? as you seem to be using the large image as the image hover rather than the medium image (using the medium image is the default hard coded behaviour)
At a guess I would say the default behaviour has been altered
In your
includes/classes/bmz_image_handler.class.php
Find the following (around line 697)
it should say this
$zoom_sizetype = ($this->sizetype=='small')?'medium':'large';
if it says
$zoom_sizetype = ($this->sizetype=='small')?'large':'medium';
then thats your problem.
Other wise try clearing your Image handler cache via the admin

The older versions do not.
Selling point 1: Best practice for serious business people is to run the latest and most secure software on their websites, especially if they want to be taken seriously in the business community. (i.e. advertisers and affiliates who can increase a store owner's profits pretty much only want to associate their businesses with those of a similar seriousness and reputation).
Selling point 2: Customers are more saavy than they were even just five years ago....informed and experienced web shoppers will not buy from a store run with software that has known security issues, and - they know how to find out what the store is using.
Upgrading both zc and mods is definitely worth the money they have to pay you to do it for them.
take my word for it I am still fixing stores with older software cause their host has suspended the account due to the files that a phishing hacker placed
your client needs to upgrade to the newset version of zen cart---after all it is free.
His other mods may be able to be merged into the files then put into an over-ride folder

Hi,
Thanks for your help.
Or I am blind or there are no settings like Image Width and Image Height in Product Info?
I checked the file you mentioned, this is on line 697:
$zoom_sizetype = ($this->sizetype=='small')?'medium':'large';
Seems to be fine or not?
I did not make any changes to the standard Image Handler.
Very weird, but I really hope to solve this.
Regards,
Richard

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I think I found it the image size you mentioned in Product Listing.
The size is :
Product Info - Image Width 150
Product info - Image Height 120

None of your images are being served up from the bmz_cache folder AND when I view what should be your small or medium images, I am only seeing the large image there as well.. Same holds true for your category images..
Seems as if you do not have IH2 completely configured/installed correctly. I strongly suggest re-reading the readme files particularly the section which covers the image settings and configuration. Make sure all your image settings are correct Also double check your IH2 installation as well to make sure you have all the files in place..

More examples of what I mean.. Looking at this product:
http://silvaro.nl/meisjes/armbanden/...uw-met-sterren
The path to the category image for Meisjes > Armbanden should be something like this: (added spaces so the URL is not truncated by the forum software)
http: // silvaro . nl/meisjes/armbanden/bmz_cache/9/9a4b3c8458fe234f7f23e7e8571e45ab.image.35x40.gif

Hi,
Maybe you can have a look again if it is fine now.
It seems that the bmz_cache folder was not writable,I changed this to 777 and cleared the cache.
I think it works now :D

As always we need a link to your site and SPECIFIC PAGES where you are having issues (don't make us fish through your site..)
That said specific links to your site would help us to understand specifically (versus lobbing GUESSES) what you mean by "not in the mainpage". Post a link to this page and it will be easier (and CLEARER) what the issue is..

Its the mainpage: /index.php?main_page=index&cPath=23_24
were all the products of a categorie are listed.
Normally with my old shop if you go over the images in that page every products image is hoovering but now its only doing that in new products side box

That looks like a sub-category listing page to me, vs. the main page (which would be the front page of your store).
At any rate, the URL is incomplete. We can't possibly locate your site from what you've provided. Please provide a complete URL beginning with http://www.

(again see the IH2 readme for guidelines)
Next you need to change the way you have your images organized.. You currently have uploaded separate medium and large images images to the "medium" and "large" image folders. IH2 appears to ignore images when structured this way.
As has been stated many times here (and in the readme) IH2 creates the small and medium product images from your large image. Meaning you only need to upload the LARGEST of your product images to your images folder and let IH2 do the rest. My suggestion is that you remove all the small product images from the "images" folder, delete delete all the product images from your "images/medium" folder and then move all the product images (and/or the directories) in the "images/large" folder to the "images" folder.
So this path:
images/large/pandora_exclusive/bloem_LRG.jpg
becomes this path
images/pandora_exclusive/bloem_LRG.jpg
BUT
Before you do ANY OF THIS, please please please review the readme to make sure you have IH2 configured correctly..

ITS WORKING !! THank you!!
What I did:
I removed the small images , the _LRG and the _MED images. moved the _LRG images to the images folder.
uploaded the products again but then with the largest image
So it became as you told: images/pandora_exclusive/bloem_LRG.jpg
result: not working
Then i checked again the IH2 configuration: found a mistake there and put in the correction
result: not working
uploaded the products again but then with the smallest image
With FTP uploaded the _MED and _ LRG images
Then it was like before like this:
images/pandora_exclusive/bloem.jpg
images/medium/pandora_exclusive/bloem_MED.jpg
images/large/pandora_exclusive/bloem_LRG.jpg
result : WORKING!!!
I hoped that it would work like you say that you only need the largest image and that IH would do the rest.
It would save me a lot of time to make every image in 3 sizes.
But that option is not working now?
I it maybe that I have to remove the _LRG and _MED form this lines in IH configuration?:
Product Info - Image Medium Suffix _MED
Product Info - Image Large Suffix _LRG
Anyway its working so at this moment and Im happy already !
Thanks again

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I looked at your site and actually IH2 is not working as it should at all..
The ONLY thing working is the on-hover image effect (and it's not working as expected on all of your small images), but IH2 is not doing it's job at all.
Again, IH2 will take the largest product image (which you should have uploaded to your "images" directory) and from this file it generates optimized small, medium and large images and put them into the IH2 bmz_cache folders.. This is not happening for your site at all..

It's actually not working at all. NONE of your images are being optimized and generated in the bmz_cache folders as they should if IH2 was doing what it's designed to do. You DO NOT NEED images in the "images/medium" or "images/large" folders. You simply create your product, add a product image (the LARGEST image) and then let IH2 do the rest. All of the optimized images (small, medium, and large) will be generated and placed into the bmz_cache folder.

It does work EXACTLY like this if IH2 is configured correctly (settings correct, permissions set on the appropriate folders correctly, images uploaded to the correct locations (and named correctly), etc)

No you do not need to remove this.. This setting tells Zen Cart (not IH2) how to identify your medium and large images. If you use medium or large images using these suffixes, then IH2 will ignore ALL your images and Zen Cart's default image management features will identify them as the large or medium images.. If IH2 is configured correctly you do not need to use these suffixes in your image names at all..
I'm glad you are happy, but IH2 is not doing what it's designed to do at all, and based on what I can see in your store it has EVERYTHING to do with the way you have set up your images..

Hi Richard. That's not an IH2 question because it relates to making customizations to Zen Cart rather than to IH2.
I know the question has been discussed several times around the forum. No doubt if you do a forum wide search for something like "text above additional images", you'll find plenty of threads where the answer has been given.
Good luck

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I have uploaded all my images for new site. Image names show under Image Handler and Product menus, but the image itself does not. If I manually reenter image name and location, images then show up on product page. I really don't want to have to do this for 4000 images. Is there an easier way?

Hello again,

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
You're welcome.. I get that while the readme has lots of information, there is still a bit of confusion about the use of the image suffixes and IH2..
I have been working on a new readme for the next IH2 release.. In the upcoming release all the FUNCTIONAL changes are courtesey of Nigel and Nagelkruid.. However, I want to re-write the readme and instructions again to cover some gaps I've identified as a result of SOME questions (like yours) posted here.. I'm also gonna ask the admins if we can start a FRESH support thread.. (I think it's overdue) This one has become a bit long in the tooth as they say, and I'd like to update the lead post to include some FAQs upfront to minimize some of the support thread overhead..
Now off to check your site and see how your homework assignment came along..

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
This is better, and you're part way there.. I hate to say it..
BUT...
Go back to the readme, and review the image settings section again.. Your medium and large images appear to be the same size.. This indicates to me one of two things..
Your ACTUAL original image is really smaller than your large image settings.
OR
Your large and medium image settings need to be corrected in the image settings.
If you make adjustments to the image settings you will need to delete EVERYTHING in the bmz_cache folders EXCEPT the .htaccess & .keep files.. (don't worry.. your original images as SAFE.. IH2 will recreate all the images in the cache with the new settings applied)

v1.3.9h Zen. Used Easy Populate to upload entire database to Zen. Image names that appeared in database appear in Zen under image name, but the image does not. Using file manager, I can see and open image in the images directory, and if I fill in the lines below product by product, it will work. The site is not published yet, so I can't send a link, but is hosted on a Hostmonster server. All other relevant product information does appear for each product. This is what I see basically under Zen admin, and as you can see, the image name is there. Do I need to remove the image extension? If I re-enter image name using last line below "select an existing image file from server, filename: " then the image does appear for that product. thanks for the tips...
Got image handler working ! Great Mod! Don't know how I missed this...but our server said they did not support it.....news to them!
Just to recount:
Zencart automatically loads in jscript files in the My_Template > jscript folder
Right?
My disable right-click jscript works just find in zencart...but not in the lightbox. Why doesn't it load in the lightbox?
js code is in above post....

Like I said previously, it would be hard to believe that a host worth their weight in salt would NOT have either "GD libraries or ImageMagick" installed. They don't need to support IH2.. They do need to have the right hosting configuration to support it's USE.. (Sounds like your host does)

I can't help you with getting your right click script working with the ZLB module.. It's actually not an IH2 support related question.. If niestudio is willing to help you with this he can and will on the ZLB support thread..
I only suggested IH2 so that you could use it's watermarking feature which IMHO is the BEST way to deter image thieves.. Right click scripts are so 1990s and are EASILY defeated by ALL modern browsers. A picture thief who is ACTUALLY wanting your images will EASILY work around your right click scripts.. I could name ALL the ways how, but again that is off topic for this support thread..
The watermarking feature in IH2 is a BETTER deterrent to image thieves as watermarked images will need to be edited to remove your watermark, and this is not a skillset most images thieves have. Lastly it's been posted many times in this support thread and in the ZLB thread, ZLB and IH2 share one common file, and the one from ZLB should be used for both modules to work together (as opposed to merging them). The link below should help in that regard.

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
IMAGES COPIED TOO MANY TIMES BY IH 2?!?!?
Hi there,
I love the Image Handler, but surprisingly when I create a new product and upload an image using IH 2, it sometimes creates 4 copies of this 1 uploaded image and in addition adds 4 copies of a second image as well which I did not upload for this new product.
E.g. the follwing screenshot from the product detail / info page shows you what happens if I upload 2 images via the IH:
http://isupply.ch/ih2.jpg
The 2 correct images are marked with a green checkmark, the additional unwanted copies automatically and wrongly added by IH are crossed in red.
Has anyone experienced the same?
-> This only happens from time to time!
-> I have set "Product Info - Number of Additional Images per Row" to 4. This should not have anything to do with IH but I ask myself whether it is a coincidence that IH produces 4 additional images... ????
Image names are very simple without special characters (e.g. 4001_iphone4_display_02.jpg).
I am running ZC 1.3.9d.

Can I just add to that sentiment? Websites that use a no right click script are, IMHO, just lame and they communicate a message of "website homemade by paranoid person".
While it's not paranoid to want to protect yourself from theft, it does look paranoid to use "beginner tools" to do it. People who are serious about loss prevention use the appropriate modern tools to manage their inventories and property.
I agree that watermarking is the way to go. If your biggest concern is that you want a copyright notice shown to visitors, then use the copyright notice as the watermark.
Also, it's just not that easy (unless you know how and most image thieves do not) to get images out of light boxes. The fact that they look cool is only one of the reasons people started using them - the other was to protect their images.
So using a light box WITH a right click script is just overkill.
Lastly, if you've installed IH2 and can't get the watermarks to work, you've done something wrong and need to READ the README and then either adjust your settings or your images or reinstall - not revert back to outdated tools created for amateur site builders.

IH2 has NOTHING to do with how additional images are managed in Zen Cart. Additional images and how Zen Cart associates multiple images with one product is core Zen Cart code. For me, given that I work in software dev, I've learned over the years that a written description of the problem is not always in and of itself enough to KNOW and SEE what is happening.. I have to see what you see so that I can get right to the issue versus guessing at what it MIGHT be.. So I personally won't even try an lob guesses at a problem I can't "see" (others may feel differently)..

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
It sounds like your web host is running with safe mode on. IH2 won't work in Safe Mode -- requires safe mode to be off. Check with your host.

Please don't make us fish around your site.. Please post a SPECIFIC URL to a product where the issue exists..
Also you need to clarify what you mean by "main page". The MORE DETAIL you provide the easier it is for the volunteer community to help you..
If you read through other posts in the support thread (which you should do anyway as the answer to you issues is likely already posted here) you will see that things like your images setting count too.. You should take a look at the readme and see if your settings follow the guidelines set forth in the IH2 readme..

Re: Image Handler 2 Support
I'm getting this error on the homepage of the Holzheimer site in my sig but only in IE. It doesn't appear in FireFox. :shocking:

Any ideas?

Edit: Good grief! Now that I reported it, it's gone! :shocking:
