This is working for me in a stock Zen Cart installation + Edit Orders + Demo Data. Need to figure out what is different on your site...
I seem to remember one of your sites having issues with a corrupted DB in the past; specifically related to product attributes, option names, and option values. Could still be some leftover issues?
Can you verify the current version of Zen Cart on the site? Upgrade path used if any? PHP version? Third party modules? Other modifications? Debug logs? Current attribute related settings (configuration, option name, and priduct attribute)?
Have you tried creating a new product + option name + assigning the attribute + creating a dummy order + add product (no template / front end modifications involved)?

Regardless of how it is configured edit orders will display in one line
Attachment 14526
Both in simple attributes editor and advanced,
Do you get multiple lines for the attribute when editing an order?

Edit Orders 4.1.x does not have a "simple attribute" or "advanced attribute" editor. Sounds like perhaps you have Edit Orders 4.0.x (or older) installed... Versions of Edit Orders other than 4.1.x are no longer supported (and can actually cause issues and break things in Zen Cart 1.5.1+).
As noted above, entering multiple lines of text in Edit Orders 4.1.3+ under Zen Cart 1.5.1+ is working correctly in my test environments. Perhaps it is time to upgrade?
NOTE: There are a few minor known bugs in the current release of Edit Orders 4.1 affecting a limited number of configurations / stores. Fixes / workarounds have been posted earlier in this support thread for known bugs. A new version of Edit Orders (including fixes for known issues) is currently in development. There is no ETA for the next release at this time.

Re: Edit Orders Support Thread
Hi Guys,
I'm having some problems, After i edit an order and update, it goes to a blank page.
There are no errors nothing on the page and when i go back to check the order, its updated.
I check the logs folder, no logs are there.
I enable the includes/local/configure.php also no error.
If i were to just update a comment without going into edit it works fine.
I suspect it has something to do with edit_orders.php or edit_orders_functions.php
Can anyone tell me what else can i try to resolve this problem?
Btw, i'm using zencart 1.5.3 edit orders 4.1.4

Re: Edit Orders Support Thread
A blank page implies that a debug-log file was created in your /logs directory that will identify the source of the error. If you post the log file here, make sure that you xxx-out your admin folder's name!

PHP Fatal error: 1054:Unknown column 'p.products_quantity' in 'field list' :: SELECT `p`.`products_quantity` FROM `products` WHERE `p`.`products_id` = '1121' in /home/wildstee/public_html/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php on line 120
Edit Orders 4.1.4 Mod refers to p.products so I reloaded it but I continue to get this error when clicking the "Update" button from Edit Orders.
What I don't understand is the columns in the database are not labeled as "p." so I don't understand how Edit orders is using this.
I have had all this setup for some time. I recently had issues with a group pricing mod, which I got straightened out, but since that this issue has occurred. I know I have to do some searching but was just hoping someone might have some insight that would assist me.
Thank You

Re: Edit Orders Support Thread
After installing this plugin to my 1.5.3 installation I could add products to an existing order; however, I could not edit prices of products or shipping and I could not add a gift cert or many any other changes to the existing order. Further after installation I was no longer able to issue refunds through zen cart. Had to uninstall. It created for more issues that it solved.

not sure if you are looking for help or just wanted to vent..:shocking:
That said I will say this, your problems seem UNIQUE to your store (otherwise MANY others would have reported the very SAME issues). The issue is likely something within your unique setup.. The WHOLE PURPOSE of edit orders is to add the ability to EDIT orders.. If you could not EDIT PRICES or SHIPPING then I'd say that something was very wrong with either your installing or usage of this module.. However given that you've now removed it it's IMPOSSIBLE to say what the UNIQUE issue you are having is.. (again it's not clear if you REALLY want help or if you were simply passing through to vent..)

Now I am going to vent. You are putting the blame on me without even taking a split second to consider there could be issues. There is no reason to be so condescending. And the CAPS IS UNCALLED FOR!!!!!!! It does not take rocket science to edit a value in a textbox and click an update button any more than getting error after error is a clear indication that the module is unable to function. I uninstalled this addon because I also needed to get back lost functionality. Quite obvious you are not interested in feedback or in finding out what may have gone wrong. Your rudeness is not appreciated.

Re: Edit Orders Support Thread
Those of us following this thread are interested in constructive feedback. We are also volunteering our time at zero cost to help support this module.
From your previous post, the issues you are reporting usually means one or more of the followung apply: 1) Edit Orders was not correctly installed (or a mistake was made during installation). 2) Patches for known bugs have not been applied. 3) Third party modules have modified the database or are conflicting. 4) A misunderstanding exists as to the operation and use of Edit Orders.
Out of curiousity... Was this a clean installation of Zen Cart (or an upgrade)? What version of Edit Orders was being installed? What debug logs (if any) were generated? Do you actually want help (or did you just want to say you were unable to get Edit Orders working)?

Condescending??? You think that's what I feel/think?? that's truly really funny:laugh:.. Your interpretation of the MEANING behind my remarks is just that.. YOUR INTERPRETATION..
If you are having issues with this module, then the most COMMON reason is for all the reasons lhungil stated.. Otherwise there would be MANY people reporting the SAME issues with this module.. That was my only point to my post but you apparently missed it because you were too busy reading things into my words that weren't said..

Re: Edit Orders Support Thread
I just upgraded a site to 1.5.3. It had edit orders and Ceon's Advanced Shipper module installed and I have reinstalled and made sure everything is proper. And it's throwing an error when editing the order. The error message is below and it doesn't make any sense as the files are all uploaded correctly and do exist. Can you give me some clues about what I can do about this?
[23-Oct-2014 18:47:58 UTC] PHP Warning: include_once(includes/modules/shipping/advshipper.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/www/designeritalianbags.com/includes/classes/shipping.php on line 58

-
Re: Edit Orders Support Thread
As the "include" appears to be missing FS_* paths, it appears some necessary modifications to shipping.php still need to be applied.
Unrelated, but why does the system include path have an item with double slashes?
-
Re: Edit Orders Support Thread
oh, good eye! That server path is interesting for sure. Put in a support ticket for that.
But I did no file integration - that's the shipping file in the package.
I went back and made sure the admin config file was completely correct just in case.
I did finally see a message after getting the blank page - when you go back to a normal page this message appears
Warning WARNING: Could not locate language file: includes/languages/english/modules/shipping/advshipper.php in yellow at the top of the page. Which is the line 58 in the error message. So we are looking at a path problem? I kept thinking something looked odd.
Makes me wonder about other possible server problems. Any other thoughts?

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Okay, so here's how stupid even an experienced zen cart coder can be.
I had not uploaded the two class files.
Going to hide now.
-
Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Happens to all of us.
Strange part was the missing DIR_FS_CATALOG from the include when loaded from the admin (as the modifications should add DIR_FS_CATALOG)...
But sounds like you have everything sorted now. :-)

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
yep. Thanks for your help.

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
i have to say, having used zencart for quite some time with a few different clients, the ability to edit orders on the admin side is crucial. previously i had used the super-orders admin tool, with minimal problems.
having recently upgraded to v1.5.3, i moved to this module. and while i have been able to make it "work", i have to say, i do NOT agree with the design of this module.
specifically, it seems that every time you edit an order and hit update, the module will "update" the line items on the order. what does that mean? it deletes the orders_products row and creates a new one, thereby changing the index on that row. why it does not change the existing row, well you got me... i'm sure the developer has their reasons; but it makes more sense to me to update the existing row then to delete and recreate rows.
now, obviously how i implemented could have some problems; but no matter, when you hit the update products, it will delete and recreate even if NOTHING has changed.
the complexity of this module seems like overkill, but when you think about other add-ons that also need integration (authorizenet_cim comes to mind) on the admin orders side, implementing this overbuilt module seems like more trouble for me than its worth....

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Strongly agree with cartwhat's comments above about (unnecessarily?) re-writing the product line. Especially for those of us using the Product Descriptions mod : http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=42503, this re-write deletes the product descriptions previously saved. Would really appreciate if this plug-in could be adjusted to play nicely with the other.

Strongly disagree that this is a REQUIRED/NEEDED modification..
You have modified the DEFAULT order process for YOUR store so that the product description is captured and therefore displayed on the invoice and packing slips.. Now your expectation is that Edit Orders which works WITH the DEFAULT order process should be modified so that it works with a modification that is NOT standard, and may not be of use for most Edit Orders users???
This is absolutely NOT the right course of action.. The change YOU NEED made to Edit Orders is one you will have to make yourself or seek community assistance to execute, but this change in NO WAY should be included in the Edit Orders core as the MAJORITY of users have not made this same modification (nor should they HAVE make it)..
-
Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Easy...easy... Who said anything that this was a "required/needed" change? Or what my "expectations" are?
The only minor point that I was attempting to submit was that when code completely rewrites/overwrites records, it seems that it may increase the chance of having side effects that conflict with other mods. But that's my novice opinion (only supported by the fact that the product descriptions mod has been negatively impacted).
Your position that the best course of action is staying vanilla would undoubtedly keep life less complicated. I had no intent that my agreement with the other post would get me flamed. I surrender the forum to you divavocals.

Well let's see.. I drew this conclusion from your own initial statement..

Which appears to imply that a change to Edit Orders is needed to work with another modification you made to YOUR store..

A change to the edit_orders.php file is what is required to add in the functionality you've added to the default order process. Thus my point that it is not a change that needs to be made to Edit Orders in general, but a change you will need to make to your own store's Edit Orders implementation. Not everyone needs/wants the same changes you made.. Therefore they shouldn't be "forced" into the general Edit Orders code..

Exactly! When a modification changes the definition of a core Zen Cart database table or the processing / handling of data in a core Zen Cart database table, there is an increased risk of a conflict with other modifications. In addition, one needs to look for all other code using the same database table and also apply the modifications (to avoid issues).
The "Product Descriptions" modification changes the definition of a core Zen Cart database table. Since "Edit Orders" reads and writes from this table, users of the "Product Descriptions" modification will also need to apply the same changes to "Edit Orders" they applied to core Zen Cart files.
NOTE: Best practice in Zen Cart 1.5+ for writing a plugin (or modification) is to avoid changing any: core database tables, data formats used in core database tables, and core files. This helps avoid potential conflicts (and makes the modifications more likely to continue working in future versions of Zen Cart).

ok. i manually delete those files which need to be deleted, cause even i set the 777 permission to these files, they still can not be deleted by the web browser. Also for those files need to be written, i set the permission to 777, and then it seems Edit Orders works well.
Not sure if there will be any problem in the future, if any one knows, please let me know. thank you.

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
I just installed Edit Orders v4.0, in Zen Cart 1.5.0, I had some trouble with adding a coupon code with page going to white screen after the submit, but found a fix-it for that in this area of the form. But another problem cropped up that I can not find an answer for. I have a shipping insurance module installed. Before I installed Edit Orders v4.0, the correct shipping insurance amount was there. When I edited the order for the coupon code, the shipping insurance dropped down to $2.45, and although it allows me to retype in the correct amount, it just will not save to the database when I submit the amount, it remains at $2.45. All other amounts remain correct. But on top it says my submit was saved successfully. I have no error messages in debugging for this either. Why did this module change the shipping insurance amount, and why does it not save the correct amount when I try to resubmit it? Any suggestions to fix-it? I can't afford $2.45 insurance rate on larger orders like this.

What "shipping insurance" module?
What version of Edit Orders?
NOTE: Be aware in Edit Orders 4.1+ any "order total" lines are handled and processed by the associated "order total module" - NOT by Edit Orders. So if your "shipping insurance" modules uses a Zen Cart "order total module", the question becomes "why is the order total module not calculating the correct insurance amount (when loaded from the Zen Cart admin)?".

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Actually Insurance was correct pre-install of Edit Orders 4.1.4. After installed, when I tried to update a coupon code to a customer, the Shipping Insurance changed to the much lower value, even though no new entry was made in that field. I'm going to install Shipping Insurance v3.2.2 and see if the problem persists.

There are multiple different "shipping insurance" modules available for Zen Cart (and probably a few commercial modules). Are you using this module: Optional Shipping Insurance? Something else (provide source)?
I am currently unable to duplicate this issue with Edit Orders 4.1.3 - 4.1.5 when using the above mentioned module. The current version of the Optional Shipping Insurance module posted in the plugins section of this site (3.2.2) returns nothing when loaded in the admin ($charge_it is set to 'false'), so will not recalculate the order total automatically.
Perhaps some OTHER tool is configured to access / sync / modify the order in the database (such as QuickBooks, Sage, etc)? Or a different module is in use?

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Hello Everyone!
Great mode, but I'm having an issue I seem not to find the answer for.
Clean ZC 1.5.1 install, with Super Orders and Edit Orders 4.1.4, + other modules.
In edit orders, adding a discount coupon on an order without taxes, the total is calculated correctly.
However, adding a discount coupon on an order with taxes, the total is calculated incorrectly. Everything else works fine, with every scenario, except this.
Has anyone encountered this before? Can someone point me in the right direction to figure this one out?
Thanks a bunch for the help!

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Hi, I appreciate any assistance. I previously posted the last paragraph below in the thread for Super Orders and then realized that this is probably more appropriate. I also just upgraded my version of Edit Orders to 4.1.4 following all instructions in the read me carefully. Now things have gotten worse as:
I don't recall what they said before but my screen titles have changed to: "HEADING_TITLE_ORDERS_LISTING" and "HEADING_TITLE_ORDER_DETAILS560". This latter heading reflects order # 560. I know that they said something different before as these look like a file name or something
on the Orders Listing screen, hitting the Edit button results in a 404 error on an otherwise blank page
some of the bottons that were previously inside the Order Details screen are gone. I now only have Edit, Print and Invoice and previously there were more. Hitting the Edit button results in a 404 error on an otherwise blank page
I installed Super Orders ver 4.1 earlier this year. Now I see the latest posted here is 4.0.9 so I'm confused already. But my problems have occured when I recently needed to edit orders. I'm running ver 1.51 of Zencart. My first use of Edit orders, Hitting either "Update" button after changing the quantity of a line item resulted in a blank whit screen. I was able to edit a line item dollar amounts but my sub-total and totals did not change nor was I able to manually change them. Yesterday I had a need to change to add products and although I was able to select the additional product, I wind up with the same white blank screen when hitting the "Add Now" button. Thank you

Any functionality having to do with EDITING orders belongs here since Super Orders does not edit orders.. (It's an order management module which adds features to the default order management functionality of Zen Cart)

Perhaps because there IS no Super Orders ver 4.1. Dunno where you acquired your version of Super Orders from, but neither on the Github repo (where BETA versions are kept) or in the downloads here on the Zen Cart site is there a Super Orders v4.1..

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Maybe it was edit orders 4.1? Although that specific version was issued in April of last year with the most recent (4.1.4) available late Jan of this year.

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread

Are you saying when you visit "/admin/orders.php" you are seeing "HEADING_TITLE_ORDERS_LISTING"?
Are you saying when you visit "/admin/edit_orders.php" you see a "HTTP 404"?
Are you saying when you visit "/admin/edit_orders.php" you see a "blank page"?
Please answer ALL of the questions from the posting tips. Doing so will help us better help you!
NOTE: At first glance (without more details), it sounds like merges gone wrong.

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Zencart 1.51 fresh install (not an upgrade) utizing FTP and run zen_install. Site has been doing business about a year and functioning fine. I never used the edit orders until needing it recently.
Server OS: Linux 3.12.32.1415814620 Database: MySQL 5.5.40-36.1-log
HTTP Server: Apache
PHP Version: 5.4.34 (Zend: 2.4.0)
Plug-ins include Super Orders ver 4.0.2 and Ty Package Tracker (no version # listed) which were installed over a year ago together with Edit Orders 4.10. Many other plug-ins affecting various areas and all work.
As per the posting instructions, I looked for "myDebug-adm-xxxxxxx.log" can't seem to find it. I don't have a folder named "myDebug" anywhere that I can can find when viewing in Filezilla. There is no "logs" folder and the "cache" folde does not have any logs in it.
When viewing "/admin/orders.php" I'm seeing "HEADING_TITLE_ORDERS_LISTING" above my list of orders. There use to be something else there and I can't recall but this doesn't seem right.
When viewing "/admin/edit_orders.php" I get a "HTTP 404" error page from my hosting company
When hitting either "Edit" button (on the orders.php page or on the details page of a specific order), I also get the "HTTP 404" error page from my hosting company and the url that appears is /admin/FILENAME_ORDER_EDIT.php?oID=562
Prior to upgrading Edit Orders this morning, I was running Edit Orders ver 4.10 and it looked right and partially functioned. It allowed me to edit the quantity of a line item but gave me a blank screen as a result. Going back would bring the page back with the new quantity and line item total. It would not allow any editing to the totals or shipping charges nor did they change automatically. When I saw there was a new version, I went through the install as per the readme and this is how I got to the present state.
The site is: http://OnlineWineSale.com

This is not caused by Edit Orders. This indicates either the language file for Super Orders is missing -- or -- something is wrong with the copy of "/admin/orders.php" in your store (on the webserver).

This would indicate files may not have been uploaded to the correct location on the server (during step 2 - New Files). During installation step 3 (Installer) of Edit Orders what message was reported in the Zen Cart administrative interface?

This indicates not all files were uploaded (or uploaded to the wrong location) - in particular missing language files.

When a blank screen is encountered there will be a corresponding debug file. The debug file contains vital information to help determine the cause. In the latest version of Edit Orders, one can optionally enable debugging which will generate files with additional information (such as the installed order total modules - 3rd party order totals are the most common cause). Once everything else is sorted, we can revisit this item if necessary.
Recommendations:
Revert "/admin/orders.php" back to a stock Zen Cart 1.5.1 file.
- Download the latest version of Ty Package Tracker (TPT).
- Install TPT and verify installation.
- Record the installed version somewhere easy to find.
- Download the latest version of Super Orders (SO).
- Review the instructions related to compatibility / installation when TPT is installed.
- Install, Configure, and Verify SO installation.
- Download the latest version of Edit Orders (EO).
- Review the instructions related to compatibility / installation when TPT and SO are installed.
- Install, Configure, and Verify EO installation.
This should result in a working installation of TPT, SO, and EO. Make sure during installation step 2 (New Files) of Edit Orders you upload ALL of the new files to their corresponding locations (overwriting any existing files on the server).

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Well, I'm extremely frustrated.
I followed your directions and
- Uploaded and overwrote orders.php file in my admin folder with the stock Zencart 1.51 file
- The version of TY is 3.1.1 which is apparently the latest but I uploaded and overwrote all the files anyway. It seems to be OK on its own and the admin screen under configuration kept my previous settings.
- installed the latest version of Super Orders (4.0.9) next although the Super Orders instructions suggest to install Edit Orders first. Installation directions refer to "2_Modified_Core_Files" There are actually folders labeled 2a_Modified_Core_Files and 2b_Modified_Core_Files-COWOA so I uploaded both. I have no idea what the "COWOA" may refer to and I couldn't find the term in the instructions. The resulting screens in my admin looked normal and I got the new buttons. Strange thing is on the bottom of the Super Orders configuration screen it lists the version as 4.0.5
- I now installed Edit Orders (4.1.4) and did not upload the orders.php file in 1_modified_core_files as per the integration instructions for use with Super Orders. I logged into admin prior to uploading the install files and the script apparently ran giving me the light green bar of success after clicking on a link. "Found previous version installed. Upgrading (or re-installing) Edit Orders (old 4.1.4 => new 4.1.4).
Success Edit Orders installation / upgrade completed!"
I did not perform any file mergers as I don't believe that I have any other order related plug-ins
End result:
I still have the "HEADING_TITLE_ORDERS_LISTING" above my orders list
I still have the "HEADING_TITLE_ORDER_DETAILS562" above the details of an individual order
Clicking on either EDIT button now brings me "WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again." on an otherwise blank page. The resulting URL's are: From the orders details page for order number 562: "mysite/myadmin/edit_orders.php?oID=562" and from the orders list: "edit_orders.php?page=1&oID=562&action=edit"
I very much appreciate assistance

If I remember correctly (I think it was a discussion somewhere in the Zen Cart forums), "Super Orders" contains modified files for a stock installation of Zen Cart 1.5.0/1.5.1 in the "2_Modified_Core_Files" folder (these should be applied when installing "Super Orders"). "2b_Modified_Core_Files-COWOA" contains merges for integration with CheckOut WithOut Account (and should only be applied if the COWOA module is installed).
As for the version number being "off", the last person to upload "Super Orders" probably forgot to update the version number. I would not worry about that too much (as long as it reports >= 4.0.5).

This indicates the language files for "Super Orders" were not installed in the correct location, the upload was corrupted, or the administrative interface is not in English. In particular: "/2a_Modified_Core_Files/YOUR_ADMIN/includes/languages/english/orders.php" will need to be uploaded to "/admin/includes/languages/english/orders.php" (or if using Spanish in the Zen Cart administrative interface to "/admin/includes/languages/spanish/orders.php").
This is not something caused by "Edit Orders". I would double check the files uploaded during the installation of "Super Orders" especially the language files.

A step in the right direction! Now we are no longer getting a "HTTP 404", so the page exists. And "Super Orders" has the correct link!
When one encounters "WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again.", this indicates an error occurred. Please post the contents of the debug log generated by Zen Cart (needed to further troubleshoot). Use a "code" block when posting (click the # in the editor) so we can more easily read the contents.
NOTE: The most common causes for seeing the above message when loading the "Edit Orders" administrative page are: skipped / incorrect merges to core Zen Cart files during installation step 1 of "Edit Orders", third party "Order Total Modules" installed (which cause errors when loaded from the administrative side of Zen Cart), and corrupt order data (caused by 3rd party access / manipulation of the Zen Cart database).

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
OK; after researching and realizing that the COWOA files in Super Orders didn't apply to me, I deleted them from the server and re-uploaded the base and 2a Modified files in attempting to invoke the install script. No script ran even though I was logged into admin and then clicked a link. Headings all look proper now. Hitting the Edit button now brings me to an edit screen where I can edit most aspects of the order. However, clicking "update" results in "WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again." on an otherwise white page. Hitting back on my browser brings back the edit screen and my changes were saved for all customer info but not the dollar amounts.
Adding products brings me to a product selection screen but after selecting a product and clicking "Add Now", I get a completely white screen; not even an error message. Hitting my back button on my browser a few times brings me back to the edit order screen and the new product is now included although the Sub-Total and Total dollar amounts do not reflect the addition. I certainly wouldn't mind manually entering new dollar amounts as shipping would also change but the new amounts that I entered do not get saved. Some progress but not quite there yet.

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Found a switch to turn on debugging in Edit Orders config screen. I can only hope that is is what you mean as it did produce a log file after setting it to "Product" which resulted in a "4" on the config screen. Here's the file:
Code:

Again.. blank/white/empty screens means that an error log was created in the "logs" folder of your site... PLEASE post the contents of these error logs so we know what the error is... It's the only way we have ANY clue what is going on.. Use a "code" block when posting (click the # in the editor) so we can more easily read the contents.

Thanks a bunch for the help!
first off, i want to say that this module is shareware... i never paid for it, so the idea that we can make demands on the developer seems a bit lame to me...
i stand by my previous comment about deleting and re-adding items in the orders products table. no developer can for-see everything going on in other users implementations. but as i said previously i do not agree with that decision.
with the comments above, i am experiencing the same situation. i have ot_tax records from the orders_total table getting deleted; and adding products after a coupon has already been established does not re-calculate the coupon value nor does it accurately recalculate the tax.
i have yet to really dig into these issues, but i no doubt will. i'm sure there were reasons why this module was designed the way that it is, but unfortunately for me, there are SO many problems that i have a difficult time with recommending it. perhaps i will find an easy fix, but TAX not getting calculated correctly? discount coupons that do not update when you add new products?
i know editing an order affects a number of different tables, but frankly i'm really at a loss on this code. and i do not remember this level of problems with the super-orders module; but hey that was a long time ago when i implemented that.

Please list every installed Order Total module "admin"->"modules" -> "order total".
If the order contains shipping please list the "shipping module" for the order.
Please provide any newer debug logs.

First, this module is not shareware. For the record, Edit Orders is licensed under GPL.
As you point out people are using Edit Orders for free. To date I have not received a single donation to help cover any of my time: updating this module (when new versions of Zen Cart 1.5.x are released), to fix bugs, to add wider compatibility, or for providing support here on the Zen Cart forums. I wish I had more "free" time to donate!
I enjoy working with the awesome Zen Cart contributors and development team. But in the end, I do need to pay the bills - so my "day" job takes precedence. Thank You to everyone (including carlwhat) who understands this basic fact.

To avoid potential clashes when updating a product in the database, products which are modified are first removed. This is a carryover from a previous version of Edit Orders. It currently affects less than 1% of the people who install this module. As posted earlier, that 1% can alter the behavior by applying the same changes they made to the store front.
The code changes in the last few versions now track most of the database indexes (stock Zen Cart catalog files do not). Now that we are tracking them, it becomes possible for a future release to simply update the associated records instead of removing all and rebuilding the order. This has been applied to the "Order Total" module handling already and may in the future be added to the product, product attribute, and product download handling.
Personally, I believe the best long term solution is to revamp the internal Zen Cart code handling the shopping cart and order process (the long awaited and anticipated Zen Cart 2.0 will probably contain these changes). But in the meantime, everything needs to stay compatible with the officially supported versions of Zen Cart (and as you probably have noticed I tend towards longer QA testing before releasing new versions of modules I am maintaining).

Can you try clicking the "update" button after adding the products? I believe this is the current workaround until I can find time to address the root cause.

"Super Orders" != "Edit Orders". They have been different modules for quite awhile now.
I personally remember far more issues when using the older versions of Edit Orders (3.x and 4.0). It regularly produced tax errors, corrupted data (or data formats) in the various order related tables, failed to validate inputted data, did not use the order total modules to process the order totals, etc. The old versions also did not provide the best user experience for an administrative user. For example: no dropdowns to use when selecting order total modules, no way to search when adding a product, did not automatically apply coupons or low order fees, and did not attempt to detect / notify / correct various error conditions.

Can you provide exact steps starting before the order exists all the way through to editing the order? This will better help me understand what you mean by "the total is calculated incorrectly" and where things may have gone wrong.
Have you applied any modifications to Zen Cart's handling of taxes such as "TaxCloud" or a "VAT module"?
Any debug logs (post inside code blocks - use the # in the editor)? Even if these appear unrelated they may be useful.
What are the sort orders for your order total modules? What are the settings for the coupon order total module (ot_coupon)? These are vital to help duplicate your store setup.
What are the settings for the specific coupon?

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Has anyone ever run into an order that wouldn't update? This is in a 1.3.9h cart where editing orders has not been a problem. This one very large order is now missing the name and address info after attempting to update. After hitting the update button, the url remains the same but the screen refreshes and shows the home page of the site. The quantities do not update. There has to be over 50 line items with a few attributes.
The order was entered in with logon as customer which also hasn't been an issue before. Site has been up and working since 2012 with no issues.
I've been trying to get them to upgrade so in the end that's what we'll probably have to do and hope the problem goes away. Just wondering if anyone had had this happen to them.

**nods in agreement** as the person who took on maintaining the older versions of Edit Orders when the original developer stepped away, there was a "known issues" thread I posted which listed all of these issues. Thank GOODNESS you came along and took this dog with fleas off my hands and gave her a MUCH NEEDED flea bath!! The difference has been night and day, and those of use who rely on this module have been grateful. As you stated, this module works on 99% of the stores out there with NO ISSUES what so ever!! So kudos to you.. and a donation from my client who uses and can't live without this module is coming before the end of the year!! (yeah I did browbeat him in a GOOD way into it!! he wanted me to pass on his gratitude to you!!)

Thanks a bunch for the help!
i have found many issues with regards to this module. and it is very sensitive to the order in which someone edits an order. i have found entering a discount code only AFTER having completed all item entry/modification to be the only way to get it to work.
as previously stated by lhungil (i think), one needs to hit update twice when processing an order with discounts and taxes.
as mvstudio (and i) ran into a problem with regards to the correct calculation of orders with discounts and taxes, the problem starts with the 3rd (and future) times one hits enter. then the totals all go off...
i have tracked down this problem (at least as it relates to me) to the function eo_update_database_order_totals and specifically when it updates the ot_coupon. the ot_coupon will continue to subtract the taxable amount of the discount even if it has already done it before.
i was able to resolve this problem by the following "hack" in the ot_coupon module. i changed this code:
if (DISPLAY_PRICE_WITH_TAX != 'true') {
$order->info['total'] -= $tax;
}
to:
if (DISPLAY_PRICE_WITH_TAX != 'true') {
// fix for admin side of edit orders
if (!isset($_SESSION['coupon_amount']) && (IS_ADMIN_FLAG == false)) {
$order->info['total'] -= $tax;
$_SESSION['coupon_amount'] = $od_amount['total'];
}
}
the IS_ADMIN_FLAG is necessary so that orders entered by customers are not affected. and the variable is $_SESSION['coupon_amount'] is really just a flag here, as opposed to needing that amount down the line.
hope that helps someone. no guarantees or implied warranties or anything else....

Edit Orders 4.x is not intended for use under Zen Cart 1.3.x, so would not be surprised if problems occurred. This goes doubly for Edit orders 4.1+ as it contains some functions from Zen Cart 1.5.x and directly utilizes the Zen Cart 1.5.x classes and functions to display, edit, and update the order.
Perhaps the site is using one of the older versions for Zen Cart 1.3.x such as Edit Orders 3.x (no longer actively maintained or supported)?

I ran into similar issues on occasion in the older versions of Edit Orders. With Edit Orders 4.1.x (under Zen Cart 1.5.x), I have rarely seen the same behavior reported.
The most common causes under Zen Cart 1.5.x with Edit Orders 4.1.x are one or more of the following:
- Third party order total modules (crashing when loaded from the Zen Cart admin)
- Core file merges not applied correctly
- Corrupt or missing database records
- Known bugfixes not applied to the latest version
Usually a quick look at the Zen Cart debug logs will provide a nudge in the right direction.

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Running EO 4.1.4 on ZC 1.5.1. The ot_onetime_discount module is enabled with sort-order 260 and ot_tax is enabled with sort-order 300. When a 1-time discount is applied to an order, the tax is not recalculated.
Any ideas? I thought I'd post here before I head off to see what's up in the code.

Strange since tax processing is not done directly by Edit Orders (handed off to Order Total classes).
Is VAT involved (I remember discussions in the past related to VAT, but was not able to duplicate in a stock Zen Cart or get enough info on modifications to test)?
Have you tried pressing the "update" button a second time (to retrigger calculation by the order total modules)? Anything jumping out when enabling debug "order totals"?
-
Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
No VAT, just regular US taxes. I also tried the double-update trick ... no go.
Update: Unlike the coupon processing (where tax can optionally be recalculated), there are no tax-related calculations perofmred by the 1-time discount.
-
Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread

Correct. Taxes are handled by the order total for tax (ot_tax).
If you place the ot_onetime_discount sort_order before ot_tax, then the discount is pre-tax.
If you place the ot_onetime_discount sort_order after ot_tax, then the discount is post-tax.
-
Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Please disregard the above post (timeout while editing - lost connection).
The "Onetime Discount" module was intended to be used when a store owner needs to offset the entire cost of an order due to a problem caused by humans at the store. For example failing to meet the expected shipping date. As such it does not alter the product pricing or taxes. It simply provides a simple way of handling issues caused by human error (the alternative workflow is creating "store credit" and applying it against the order).
The order total module ot_tax applies taxes based on product price, so you are correct. The tax will always reflect the tax rate against the product price listed in the order.
What is the situation requiring the order be discounted? Does the situation occur often? Can the store owner just move the sort_order to be after tax and add the amount of the tax to the actual discount they manually add?
Hopefully the above will work for the store's situation (I am curious about the situation, so examples are welcome). I'd also be receptive to contributed code adding "tax recalculation" to ot_onetime_discount (preferable checking if ot_tax is enabled, what the sort_orders of the two modules are, and if any other modules have already altered the pricing / tax).
-
Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
The site is using the 1-time discount as a "quick and dirty" coupon. Both ot_onetime_discount (sort order 260) and ot_tax (sort order 300) are enabled. The site uses this feature often enough that they don't want to have to manually calculate the tax to be subtracted as well.
-
Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Oh my, that tax calculation does get complicated in the general case! An order could contain a mixture of products with different tax rates (perhaps some taxed, some not) so simply recalculating the tax on the total doesn't work. Then there's the added complication of multiple tax rates being applied.
For my client, it's much simpler. A cart can include only one product and the (single) tax rate applied to that product is applied to the order's sub-total.

Indeed it does :) Especially with the recent / upcoming changes and differing rules in different geographical regions.
I suppose in your client's case, a quick and dirty line to subtract the tax difference from the session variable holding the tax amount would work... Rather then trying to handle things generically and cover all possibilities...
Are the "coupons" applied to all customers? Select customers? Based upon a formula? Would one of "That Software Guys" discount modules work (these can do product level discounts and tax adjustments)?

The "coupons" applied are relatively haphazard, not applied to all and done post-customer-order-creation (so the swguy discounts won't apply).

Edit Orders 4.1.4 is compatible with both Zen Cart 1.5.1 and 1.5.3. Edit Orders 4.0.x is not compatible with Zen Cart 1.5.3. So, either the Edit Orders upgrade should be done first (may need to run the plugin installer after the Zen Cart upgrade) or the old version of Edit Orders removed before upgrading to Zen Cart 1.5.3.
I would recommend reading the following article (and supporting articles): How do I rebuild my site on the new version? Especially when upgrading to Zen Cart 1.5.3 from an older versions: starting with clean (no old files or modifications present) Zen Cart files* , upgrading the database, and rebuilding is less prone to errors (and faster for me).
*NOTE: When upgrading to Zen Cart 1.5.3, I would recommend applying the relevant fixes from the official Zen Cart 1.5.3 known bugs (and fixes) thread before running zc_install.

Not having issues with the download.. Pretty sure this is a local computer issue for you.. Not completely clear what you mean when you say you are unzipping "each folder on at a time". Do you mean that you are extracting each individual folder?? What program are you using to unzip/extract the files?? It's POSSIBLE that the software you are using or HOW you are using it is at issue here.. Can you provide some more details??

I am using NCH Express UnZIP. Folders and files are extracted until it reaches the Index.html in the Readme folder. I found an old copy of the download and it works correctly. I considered using the old index.html with the new download but decided aginst it. I have attached an image of the Express Unzip with the error.Attachment 14829

Right.. Given that no one else has reported this issue, I believe the issue is with your Unzip program.. May I suggest you try using a different one 7-Zip is a good trouble-free unzipping program..
ETA: JUST downloaded Edit Orders and had NO ISSUES whatsoever extracting the files using 7-Zip..

This is only a live site. I followed instructions of several threads on debugging blank pages over the last 24 hours without any luck. Reached out to host GoDaddy who will restore my site going back 48 hours. Will take 3-4 days before they get to it though. There goes my Valentine orders and google ranking.
Any advice on debugging this will be greatly appreciated.

Did you try reinstalling your UPS shipping module??? Because your errors would seem to indicate that THIS is where the issue lies..

Yes tried the UPS module reinstall. No luck. This Edit Order module really messed things up. Paid the $80 to Godaddy to restore files. (not the database, that will be another $80) and store is working again.

Unfortunate that the 1) the freely available backup before attempting installation wasn't performed and 2) that the install was attempted on a live site without any previous attempt/backup/verification... All of this cautionary information is addressed in the instructions and throughout this site and forum... http://www.zen-cart.com/entry.php?3-...d-of-upgrading
But would think the cost of the restore at this point is minor compared to that of not doing business...

I doubt it was the Edit Orders module.. the MOST likely cause of issues with this module usually are as a result of installation errors.. Besides your error logs would tend to indicate that this is another issue altogether..
Suggest backing up, and creating a development version of your store, and do your install there FIRST to test and work out the issues.. Just posted this same advice for another user who seemed to think I was picking on him (his words were I should "run my site the way I want" **shrug**.. Anyway I say this to you as well as this advice comes from YEARS of experience which is why MANY of us frequently say it.. It ensures that you have a lesser chance of taking down your live store..

As indicated by the error messages, Zen Cart was unable to load your UPS shipping module (probably from the admin). Note the lack of "/store/" in front of the path to this file. The usual causes listed in this thread are:
- The two required patches were not successfully applied to "/store/includes/classes/shipping.php" (or the installation step was skipped).
- Misconfiguration of filesystem paths in one or both of the "configure.php" configuration files.

This indicates there is a problem with the file at: "/store/kladmin/includes/languages/english/orders.php". This file is a language file used by the Zen Cart admin. Most likely a mistake made when applying the required patch or editing the file to change verbiage. There is a good article on this site about how to debug warning headers already sent.

Edit Orders 4.1.4 should work in Zen Cart 1.5.4 for most stores. The only challenge is applying the required patches to core Zen Cart files (DO NOT simply overwrite the Zen Cart 1.5.4 files). If installing Edit Orders 4.1.4 in a new store, don't forget to sift through this thread for bugfixes against Edit Orders 4.1.4 and apply them (when applicable).
NOTE: There is a BETA release in development (includes bugfixes, enhancements, a new installer, and the list gos on). The new installer should hopefully simplify "patching" core Zen Cart files for most stores. There is no ETA at this time for a future release.

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Hello everyone!
I'm using Edit Orders 4.1.4 on a clean ZC 1.5.3 installation with no other modules.
I'm having an issue I seem not to find the answer for: when I edit an order I make all the necessary changes and then I save it and it's ok. But then if I go to a product page in admin the prices are wrong, that is, Products Price (Net) and Products Price (Gross) are the same, even if it was selected a Tax Class from this dropdown menu. There's no way to make the two prices different, I have to logout from admin and the log in again, so they work correctly.
I have this issue only when I previously access the edit order page, can someone help me?
Thanks a lot!

I would not rely on the (Gross) calculations found on the page for editing products. The current Zen Cart administrative interface only adds tax to the (Net). The tax calculation is only based upon a single location (usually the store location; not customer locations). So basically (Gross) is not accurate for all transactions as different tax rates may apply to different customers (and purchases).
If you really, really, really want... Can try the following "bugfix" to force the tax calculation to revert to the store location (instead of the last customer order edited). Edit "/admin/edit_orders.php" adding the line in red (around line 1755):
Code:
</html>
<?php
unset($_SESSION['customer_id']);
require(DIR_WS_INCLUDES . 'application_bottom.php');

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread - drop-down attributes
Using Zen Cart 1.5.1. Installed EO 4.1.2
When editing an order, then selecting add a new product if the product has drop-down attributes, it displays only the first option...no drop-down. Check-box attributes display correctly as check boxes.
Attachment 14925
The cart is highly customized but I don't believe any affect the attribute controller.

Attribute handling has been overhauled since version 4.1.2. Newer versions of Edit Orders also automatically repair damage to the attribute options sometimes caused by other modules (removing entries in configuration under gid=0). This damage can affect the display of attributes (among other things).
Please install and try adding the product using the current version of Edit Orders (4.1.4).

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread - drop-down attributes
I am getting ready to install this on a fresh install of 1.5.4. Is there a list of things that need to be done differently than the packaged instructions so I don't have to read through the 69 pages of this thread? I wish I had the time, but I do not.
Thanks,
Christy

Not sure you'd need to go through ALL 69 pages.. but I digress..
So in short, you'd like someone else to review the support thread for any fixes and modifications required to be made to Edit Orders for compatibility with Zen Cart v1.5.4 that probably have already been posted here in the support thread, and put that in a summary post for you??

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread - drop-down attributes
Dear Zenners,
The last 2 days I've been reading through the forum pages to figure out why I can't get Edit Orders to work.
The problem is (I've read about multiple users having this issue) that when I create an order and edit it with Edit Orders (add or remove an item) the subtotal amount displays the wrong price (see example image)
Attachment 15001
In the image you can see that I have only 1 product left which costs € 0,94 the subtotal states € 2,60
The store is recently upgraded from ZenCart 1.3.9h to 1.5.1 edit orders was running fine in 1.3.9h also.
When the store was upgraded to 1.5.1 I also upgraded Edit Orders to version 4.1.4 ( I read in the support thread that there where issues with updating off the subtotals in Edit orders 4.0)
I only have a view other modules installed:
Testimonial Manager Version 1.5.4
Easy Populate For ZenCart v1.5.x
Sales Report 3.1.0
In the order totals I have the following installed:
Code voor groepsbestellingen ot_coupon 280
Groepskorting ot_group_pricing 290
Toeslag kleine ordergrootte ot_loworderfee 400
Verzenden ot_shipping 200
Subtotaal ot_subtotal 100
BTW ot_tax 300
Totaal ot_total
When I enable the Debug log in Edit Orders I get no error messages.
I also uninstalled Edit orders and installed it again.
I'm really stuck on this and really need to edit my orders, I'm hoping anyone can point me in the right direction :(

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread - drop-down attributes
Hello. I'm having a problem installing edit orders. I downloaded the latest version 4.1.4. and my store is zc 1.5.0. I did a clean install last June and updated the database from 1.3.9 at that time. No issues with the store since then.
Server OS: LINUX .12.35 14186451
PHP version: 5.2.17 (ZEND: 2.20)
MySQL 5.5.40-36
HTTP Server: Apache
Add-ons: Image Handler 4_v4_0, ckeditor, backup_MySQL_plugin_v5
I followed the instructions in the read me and uploaded all the files under "modified core files" and "new files" and checked to see they were all there with the proper structure. I logged into the admin and then uploaded the install files. When I then go to the admin page and click on a link (admin home) I get a page that says "Warning An error occurred. Please refresh the page and try again". After that, I am stuck with that page and cannot get back into the admin. The only thing I can do at that point is delete files via ftp to access the admin again.
This is the debug code I am getting:
[CODE][28-Feb-2015 16:43:44] PHP Fatal error: 1146:Table 'mendo11d_organic1. configuration' doesn't exist :: SELECT `configuration_value` FROM ` configuration` WHERE `configuration_key` = 'EO_VERSION' in /home4/mendo11d/public_html/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php on line 101 [\COD]
Seems like it might be something with the database.
I can post more details if needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
Check your "/admin/includes/configure.php" file. In particular check DB_PREFIX to see if it contains a space (should not contain any spaces).

Hi. Thank you for the quick response. Here is what I have in admin/includes/configure.php :
define('DB_PREFIX', ' ');

define('DB_PREFIX', '');
Is the problem resolved?

That absolutely did the trick! Edit orders seems to be working fine now. What one little space in the wrong place can do. Thanks very much everyone!

We are experiencing this same situation as carlwhat.
Tax is being deleted from some orders and the tax is not being recalculated on others.. Would love to know if we have something installed in common.

with the comments above, i am experiencing the same situation. i have ot_tax records from the orders_total table getting deleted; and adding products after a coupon has already been established does not re-calculate the coupon value nor does it accurately recalculate the tax.
i have yet to really dig into these issues, but i no doubt will. i'm sure there were reasons why this module was designed the way that it is, but unfortunately for me, there are SO many problems that i have a difficult time with recommending it. perhaps i will find an easy fix, but TAX not getting calculated correctly? discount coupons that do not update when you add new products?
i know editing an order affects a number of different tables, but frankly i'm really at a loss on this code. and i do not remember this level of problems with the super-orders module; but hey that was a long time ago when i implemented that.

Re: Edit Orders v4.0 Support Thread
So far what I've come up with is that is has to do with the settings of ot_coupon and ot_group_pricing. Is there some specific setting that these should use?
Here's what I have for settings:
Discount Coupon
This module is installed
true
Sort Order
102
Include Shipping
false
Include Tax
false
Re-calculate Tax
Standard
Tax Class
--none--
Group Discount
This module is installed
true
Sort Order
103
Include Shipping
false
Include Tax
false
Re-calculate Tax
Standard
Tax Class
--none--
My order totals are incorrect when trying to edit the order:
Sub-Total: CDN $64.91
$10 Coupon: -CDN $10.00
3% Discount - 3%: -CDN $1.69 (Should be $1.65 [$64.91 - $10 coupon = $54.91 * .03 = $1.65])
Shipping: $12.11
13% Tax (ON): CDN $8.50 (includes tax on shipping)
Total: CDN $74.88 (Should be $73.87.. no idea where it is getting $74.88, since the numbers it's giving me add up to $73.83??)
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
