In your admin/configuration/images can you post how you have your settings set up
am I understanding you right---you removed those folder/files you listed> they are there for a purpose so you should not remove them.
the image you upload should be the largest one that you want seen...for example if you want them to see a 900x900 image then upload that one size for each product and IH3 will take care of the rest of the sizes.

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
I don't know what this means
Quote:
now i install all are in a subfolder
but I do know that if you don't install IH3 according to the instructions, if you delete some of it's files, or if you move files into subfolders where they don't belong (including image files), then you will have problems.
You need to read the readme in it's entirety to understand how to name and file your images appropriately for use with this mod. Have you looked at the troubleshooting tab of the readme?
Secondly, you need to understand that even though you've said that you do not have "Product Zoom" installed....you actually do have it installed.
A review of your source code indicates that your template, designed by boilbox.com, has a product image zoom modification built in to it called "productZoom". It is conflicting with IH3, either via it's js file or it's core files.
Suggest you try changing your template to the classic zencart template to see if IH3 is working properly with the the default template created by zc. If it is not...we can troubleshoot from there once you uninstall, reinstall, and configure IH3 according to the readme file. (this includes properly filing and naming your images).
Once you have IH3 properly installed and configured, and once you have your images properly named and filed...you will see it works fine with the classic template.
Only then can you change back to your preferred template. If, upon doing so, IH3 doesn't work...then you will have evidence that the problem lies in the template and you will have to get tech support from your template designer.
Good luck and happy zenning :smile:

do you mean you installed all images into a subfolder?
what exactly did you install into a subfolder
the ones in red are all supposed to be the same size also.
make sure you upload all the files---from the zips folders into the exact same places they are located in the server...with the ones from your_template going into your actual stores template folder
and yes as suggested please try it in the default theme too to see if it works right there.
The store template you are using it is one from here or bought somewhere else.
that huge one would maybe not work either due to size.

Let me jump in here and say a few things.. There's NOTHING wrong that I can see with wowemall's small image sizes.. They are set the way we recommend in the IH3 readme.. If your concern was having NO height set, this too is okay and explained in the IH3 readme..
wowemall's problem is that they need to re-do their IH3 install again.. there IS some other image management/image effects add-on that is interfering with IH3. I don't know if they installed this themselves or if it was bundled in with the template they are using or what.. I do KNOW that it's it's there, because I can see it in the view source for their site.. It's likely it's because of this add-on that there are issues with IH3..
wowemall needs to re-install IH3 taking care to follow the instructions in the readme and make sure to MERGE the IH3 code with their own site code since it's clear that some of the same files modified by IH3 were modified by wowemall's add-on or template (which has an image effects module bundled in).

You need to do your own file comparison between the IH3 fileset and the fileset that came with your template.
Try downloading a free file comparison tool off the web to help you with this. Try "WinMerge" or "BeyondCompare"

Just change your image sizes in your settings to what you want them to be.

If you want to PAY someone to fix this for you, then you need to find and contact someone to do this for you directly.. this support thread is not the place to do it.. and as ScriptJunkie has said you need to do your OWN comparison..

You need to review ALL of your image setting and set them up appropriately based on YOUR requirements for your store..
There is a whole DETAILED section in the readme dedicated to image settings.. You need to review it, and then you need to review your image setting and set them up accordingly.
You've posted at least THREE different versions of your image settings which leads me to believe that you not only have not looked at your own settings, or the readme section which covers them, you are simply GUESSING right now how to set these settings.
Since this is covered in the readme, I don't see the point of repeating on this support thread what has been covered and documented in the readme that came with IH3. If after reading the documentation that comes with IH3 there is something you need clarified, we are all happy to answer your questions for you..
So here's what I suggest as a course of action for you.
- Review the section of the readme which covers image sizes
- Update your image size settings according to the needs of your store
or
- Hire someone to help you get this all setup and straightened out for you.

Ok, well these image sizes are taken directly from the image settings that you set in admin>configuration>images....the same settings you've posted previously.
Based on the image settings you've posted, either you're not posting all your image settings, or all of your image settings are not available for you to configure in the admin due to installation error or template conflict.
You need to take the following steps:
- Uninstall IH3 according to the uninstall instructions found in the readme file.
- Change your template to the zen cart classic template temporarily
- Reinstall IH3 according to the install instructions in the readme
- Configure IH3 according to the configuration instructions in the readme.
Of course, these steps will require you to actually read the readme in its entirety.
No further support will be provided unless and until you follow these steps, because if you're not able or willing to do these things, then there's nothing further we can do to assist you...our hands are simply tied.
If, after following the steps above and while still using the classic zen cart template, you find that either:
- IH3 works as expected, then you know the problems you've had are related to your custom template. We can't help you with that. You will need either a new template that is made for zen cart, or hire someone to fix it.
-or-
- IH3 does not work as expected, suggest you consider hiring someone to install it for you.
Good luck and happy Zenning :smile:
P.S. The links provided for hiring help come from the "Commercial Help Wanted" section of the zc forum.

Image reload issues
ZC v1.3.9h
IH v3.0
I have been working with IH for over a month now every thing seems to work great until recently when I have to update product pictures.
The old picture deleted fine, but when trying to upload the new pictures, the system would just hang up (progress bar starts and just sits there). Would this be an issue with IH or my server? If it's IH where would I start looking? Many thanks.

It's likely an issue with your server or you've reached the file upload limits set for your store.. Neither of which is an issue caused by IH3.. How big is the image?? Zen Cart has settings which limit the size of file uploads.. If your image exceeds your maximum settings this could be a cause for the system hanging.. Again, this would not be an IH3 issue though as much as it is you would need to either adjust your file upload maximum settings (not recommended as the defaults are okay) or reduce your image file size..
Just out of curiosity, are you uploading the new picture in the IH3 administration manager or on the product page??

As long as you understand it may be a while before I have "anything to show".. I've got a lot on my plate, so I have to do this when time permits.. Can't (won't) give an ETA..

Checked with server (Bluehost), they indicated no bottle neck or settings issues. The max file upload size is left at default (just under 2 Mb), never touch it since ZH install. My images range from 90K to 150K. I am using the IH admin (under tools) page to perform the upload.
The hang up is completely random but frequent, every 2-3 images uploaded will be interrupted with this timeout. Frequent enough to be a real headache.

Not for nothing your host will ALWAYS say everything is fine on their end..:laugh: I haven't met a host yet who'd admit an issue was on their end..
Honestly I don't think this is IH3 or we'd see more reports of this.. In all the IH3 installs I've done, this has not been an issue.. Perhaps someone else might weigh in with more insight than I..

Sooooooo, is the 1.5.0 version ready yet???? :P
JUST KIDDING! :laugh:
Seriously though, I just installed the 1.5.0 ZC version for the first time and was installing the addons I typically use on previous versions and came to IH and wondered. That's how I wandered over here to see if there was an update.
Hurry up! But take your time ... no mistakes buster! :wink:
*snickers* Sorry, am in a bratty mood today.
Thank you for providing a wonder addon. Can't wait for your next version. I know it will take you a bit to get all the coding squared away - we'll be here when you are ready. :yes:

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
Is there a way to link directly to a thumbnail when IH3 is installed? I have a product export as a pricefile which I send to shoppingagents but the only imagelink I can get to work in there is to the full image.
So in this file I would rather have a link to the thumbnail.
Is this possible and how?

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
Hi, I wish to edit my images to display like this;
http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/6825/...oundsdesig.jpg
If you could point me to the correct CSS code I can get to work. This is the page I wished to be edited

Thanks.

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
And HOW does your question related to the IMAGE HANDLER add-on???
Because if you are asking a GENERAL "how can I do this" question, you are in the wrong part of the forum.. This is the support thread for Imaged Handler 3. If you have other image related questions you need to create your own thread and ask you question there..

It's related due to the fact that the Image Handler 3 mod on my site is linked to the size of my pictures and also has the answer to fixing it!
Also, no need to get your nickers in a twist with the caps lock button, I don't really think you'll shout out certain works at me face to face...

Well your question is vague.. What is is it you are asking, trying to do, not doing?? (it's also why no one else has responded..)
If you are asking how to get your product listing page to look like the image you posted, you still are in the wrong thread.. Image Handler has nothing to do with the layout of the product pages. (it only mangaes the small images that appear on the product listing pages) Also Image Handler will not support the large sized product listing images you show in your example.. If you want this kind of customization you will need to post our question in it's own separate thread in the forum..

No nickers in a twist as you ASSume.. Your question was vague and it was unclear that it was a IH3 issue.. (still is..)

The caps are emphasis, not screaming. It's not a personal attack. Relax and keep the rude comments about nickers to yourself.
Your question is not related to IH3 and needs to be posted elsewhere on the forum. Here's why:
IH3 makes re-sized and optimized copies of your original images (leaving the originals untouched) and stores them in a cache folder called bmz_cache. When a page on your site is called by a browser, these re-sized and optimized copies are loaded quickly, thus reducing loading time and bandwidth used.
The kind of edits you're talking about making to your images have nothing at all to do with IH3 or it's functionality. The editing you want to accomplish must be done by you (or a graphic specialist that you hire) before you ever even upload them to your server and long before IH ever copies/shrinks/optimizes them.

If your only issue is that the case of your image file extensions is not consistent (some are JPG while others are jpg, for example), then yes...upgrading will solve your problem.
More advice has been posted to you on the IH2 support thread where you posted your original question.

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
Well, I thought due to the fact that IH3 resizes all the pictures that it would be the way to unhance the sizes of the page listed, obviously I was wrong about that.
I had already made a thread about this in the layout section;
http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=192415
No one has been able to really help

IH does not enlarge images. It takes a large image (You should upload the largest sized image you want displayed), and makes it smaller for faster loading...displaying only the largest version on hover. Read the Readme file for information on how to use and configure IH3 in order to get the most out of it.
Regarding your next steps: I've answered you on the thread you created
Good luck and happy Zenning :smile:

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
Recently upgraded to IH3 from IH2, but that's irrelevant.
I've got a problem - since the camera my mum uses is set to make a new folder every day (makes it easier to organise things), the names of the files are numbers are saved subsequently. For example, there is a folder from yesterday and a folder for today. 10 photos were taken in both days. In EACH of the folders have the names of the images as '01.JPG' all the way to '010.JPG' in each folder. They collide with each other - I mean like, if I upload a product using the image '38.JPG', then if I ever upload another product called '38.JPG', all of the additional images are added on to that product, creating a problem.
Is there a way around this?
-
Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
The best bet is never to use numeric filenames for exactly this reason. Rename them to something that realtes to the product. this will help in three ways
1. No more overwriting when you upload
2. You can see easily what the photo refers to
3. You can add multiple images to a product easier because fred1, fred2, fred3 etc will always show in the product fred without having to do anything clever

I'd love to do that instead but unfortunately the only way the camera names images is numerically. I'd name the files separately (well, my mum would), but it involves far too much effort for the prices she sells some of her items (she only has 1 of each product and sells them for like £5.99 each). Isn't there a way around this?
-
Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
Sometimes the camera settings allow you to NOT start the numbering again from scratch - my small cannon certainly does. Check in the preferences menu - or it may be mentioned in the manual
Unfortunately, after that you are stuck, since storing them in multiple subdirectories will mean you have to tell zen cart where to find them each time - for instance when you set up the product, instead of pointing to the main folder to store the picture, you will have to point to the correct sub folder. So you will end up with a structure like
images
images/2012
images/2012/2012-01-01
etc
all of these subfolders could have images in of the same name since IH3 creates its own names to store the resized images I think
-
Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
Thanks a lot for your help, I double checked the camera settings, found an option, changed it and then took a few pictures - they're being named differently now. Thanks! ^^

No.. this behavior is not caused by Image Handler. It's default Zen Cart behavior since the file names is how Zen Cart links additional images to a product.. Please refer back tot he IH3 readme.. We provide a link to the Zen Cart FAQ and other articles on this..

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
a couple of questions...
1) will this mod allow me to watermark images that have already been uploaded?
2) will this mod allow to to resize images that have already been uploaded?
3) I always like to be safe and compare the source code supplied to what I already have on the site and noticed this dicrepancy?
the module supplied with image handler is on the left and my standard module that it wants to replace is on the right?
any cause for concern before overwriting the standard module?

1) Yes.
2) Yes.
3) The screen shots are too small to see any detail. If you have any code that conflicts with this mod's code...you will need to merge your files carefully. If you don't know how to do that...best that you hire someone to do it for you. I believe there's a section of the forum that contains a link to a site where one can find individuals proficient in ZC.

thanks - I've already merged what needs to be merged.
the code on the right that's not in the module supplied with this mod is:
PHP Code:
$products_image_base = preg_replace('/'.$products_image_extension.'/', '', $products_image);
$products_image_medium = $products_image_base . IMAGE_SUFFIX_MEDIUM . $products_image_extension;
$products_image_large = $products_image_base . IMAGE_SUFFIX_LARGE . $products_image_extension;
// check for a medium image else use small
if (!file_exists(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'medium/' . $products_image_medium)) {
$products_image_medium = DIR_WS_IMAGES . $products_image;
} else {
$products_image_medium = DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'medium/' . $products_image_medium;
}
// check for a large image else use medium else use small
if (!file_exists(DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'large/' . $products_image_large)) {
$products_image_large = $products_image_medium;
} else {
$products_image_large = DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'large/' . $products_image_large;
}
which is replaced in the new module supplied in this mod with just the following:
PHP Code:
$products_image_base = preg_replace('/'.$products_image_extension . '$/', '', $products_image);
$products_image_medium = DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'medium/' . $products_image_base . IMAGE_SUFFIX_MEDIUM . $products_image_extension;
$products_image_large = DIR_WS_IMAGES . 'large/' . $products_image_base . IMAGE_SUFFIX_LARGE . $products_image_extension;
I use Beyond Compare from Scooter Software to compare modules - it's great and the free trial never expires.

Oh it eventually expires.. just takes a long time because of the way they count the number of trial days.. Invest in the software.. worth the cost.. Free updates.. (something the trial version doesn't get you)

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
ok - need some help before I make a mistake. I uploaded the code as per the instrcutions
so - then I went to the tools and selected Image Handler2 from the menu and I clicked Install
I then went to Configuration/Images and updated a few settings regarding watermarks,
so - then I went to Tools/IM/Manager and see the list of my categories and selected a category with just two products.
The first of the two products is displayed by default and it shows the default medium and large all set at 600 x 450.
I thought this product would resize images for me and apply watermarks?
how is this done.
the readme.html file goes noticably silent and ends before it explains how to actually resize images. ??? I'm siting here with three images on the screen all showing the same size and not a single line of documentation explaing what I need to do now.
I was told this add-on would resize my images but right now I'm at a loss as to how to use it.
can I get some help here?
thanks!

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
Well to start with you might want to make sure you installed the correct version of the software.. this is the "Image Handler 3 Support Thread". You stated you installed Image handler 2, and you stated that the readme doesn't explain how to use this mod.. All of which tells me you have the WRONG/OLD version of IH installed.. Suggest you uninstall, and download and install the correct version first. Read the reame that comes with it.. It DOES indeed eplain how to setup and configure Image Handler..

this problem has been fixed but many images have simply stopped appearing altogether.
do I have to go through each product and have their images redisplayed or something?
it's very weird.
I pick a product and sometimes their images display (on the manager screen) and sometimes they don;t display - no errors are being thrown.
for instance - I just clicked 'display' of one of my products on the Manager screen and only the medium image displayed - nothing displayed in the default or large then when I click back to display the first of two products all three images display and then when clicking back to the second product - all three images display this time.
if this a caching situation?

how about the actual store --- is it behaving there?
did you install the right IH add-on? IH3 should be the one.
manually go through and make sure you have installed the right files to the right places
link to the store product page is nice too especially if it is not working store end too

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
the store is behaving weird also.
I have zen lightbox installed also
here's a link : http://www.bravoshop.net/index.php?m...ex&cPath=66_76
sometime all the images appear, sometimes not.
are the small, medium and large images created on an "as needed" basis and then cached?
since there's not 'batch' creation of the new images in multiple sizes how exactly does this add-on create the three different sized images in preparation for display.
ps: are the watermarks added on the fly or are new images created with the watermarks permanently affixed?

nope ih2 is what downloaded for 1.39
I just took a look - I see IH3 is listed below the 1.39 version I downloaded.

perhaps I'll simply restore the site and the db and start over from scratch. I backup up everything first.

Lighhtbox was installed first and to be very specific - I paid particular attention to this on the Misc tab.
Zen Lightbox vs. Fual Slimbox with Image Handler3
These contributions work very similarly. Both mods include jquery or mootools, keyboard navigation, etc.
In order for them to work with Image Handler3 you must merge or replace the one file Image Handler3 has in common with both of these mods, includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE/additional_images.php as follows:
Zen Lightbox - Replace the additional_images.php from Image Handler3 with the one that comes with Zen Lightbox. (Zen Lightbox has included all the merged code required for Zen Lightbox and Image Handler3 to work well together):smile:

By the way, it works fine for me. Image loads just fine, as does the lightbox image when "larger" is clicked.
I DO see what you mean about the images not always loading on refresh after refresh on this page: http://www.bravoshop.net/index.php?m...index&cPath=65
That's why I asked what size images you're using.

I only have one image uploaded per product with the exception of one of my products.
I would have to say the largest photo is about 2,000 x 3,000 pixels most are 600 x 800
there's one photo is particular that simply does not want to load even though the page source code served points to an image that is in the bmz_cache and it's a small image about 150 wide and none of my images have any special characters although a few have embedded spaces and one has parens
I use Netscape but the bahavior is similar in Internet Exploder

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
1. 600x800 is ok...but those 2000x3000 are just way too large. You need to size them down because large files like that slow down the server. (yes..IH shrinks them, optimizes them, and serves them up more quickly...but the image must be reasonably sized to start with in order to obtain max performance).
2. From the ReadMe (troubleshooting tab):
Quote:
Make sure that your main product image files names DO NOT contain any special characters (non-alphanumeric characters such as / \ : ! @ # $ % ^ < > , [ ] { } & * ( ) + = ). Always use proper filenaming practices when naming your images - See this document as a reference:
http://www.records.ncdcr.gov/erecord...508_final.pdf\
Parens ARE special characters and therefore do not belong in file names. Neither do spaces. Use underscores instead. i.e. file_name.jpg
See if making those huge images smaller and renaming your files appropriately doesn't help solve your issues.
Good luck and happy zenning :smile:

ok - well here some other news that's odd.
one of the files that will not display is listed in pink (via putty)
I'm not a linux guru but I wonder if this means the file is currently open?

And we are not linux gurus either..:smile: So no clue..:no:
Suggest looking at the original image that was the source of the cached image. Follow Script Junkie's suggestions for modifying the original image if any of her suggestions regarding file names or image size applies..

I can't speak to that because I don't know anything about it. My suggestion is that before you go looking for any more weirdness... follow the steps in the readme for configuration and troubleshooting -specifically...fixing your oversized file issue and file naming issues.
See if that doesn't solve your problem.

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
I wonder is one of you folks much more knowledgable could point to the place in the admin code where images are actually uploaded and saved - mostly the part where products images are saved.

What are you trying to accomplish?
If what you want to know is how exactly IH3 creates images....one would have to write an entire book explaining how it all works and which files do what. IH3 is a big and powerful addon...there is no 1 file that will answer your question because all the files work together. Additionally, these files work with a separate piece of software (GD libraries or ImageMagick) to accomplish what it does.
It's just not as simple as ....."where is the code that handles IH3's main function?".
If all you want is a general understanding of how IH3 works...it's in the ReadMe file...first tab.
Quote:
Image Handler3 enables you to use GD libraries or ImageMagick (if installed on your server) to generate and resize small, medium and large images on the fly on page request. You can simply upload just one image or you can have different sources for medium and large images. Image Handler3 further enables you to watermark your images (overlay a second specific translucent image) and have medium or large images pop up when you move your mouse over a small image (fancy hover).
The images that IH3 creates are stored in the bmz_cache folder, located in the store root. Your original images that you upload are stored in whatever image folder or subfolder that you uploaded them to.

Nothing to do with IH, But this is why that happens
Have a look at the file extension of the pink ones notice it is jpg rather than JPG
Depending on how your server or ftp client is set up it may only recognise jpg as images and not JPG, this won't effect the working of the site, or anything like that its just an internal filter, its actauall fairly common
for instance if you use the file manager that comes with cpanel
it displays the file type of
.jpg as image/x-generic and
.JPG as text/x-generic
it won't effect your site in anyway, in your case your ftp client probably has a filter that displays known image types with a certain colour - you would probably just need to add to its definitions

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
I'm not interested in where IH3 save the image I already know that.
I'm interested in the exact place in the code where the standard version of Zencart 1.39 actually saves the uploaded image. I have another project in mind and since people here are very familiar with the code I figured I'd ask here first.
thanks in advance.

Not to be a nag, but since this is NOT an Image Handler specific question, you should post it elsewhere in it's own topic..

IH3 for zen 1.5
Has anybody tried to use this with 1.5?
I have but can't get it to work. I've rechecked the files a few times and everything is there but no joy...
No IH3 in admin link tools..... I guess it need some rewriting for 1.5???

If you noticed....there are many mods that are not working with 1.5 yet and this is one of them. Since the code for 1.5 was changed so much the codes for mods also had to adapt and as soon as the people trying to update this one for 1.5 get a working model then you will have it also.
It is not something that is going to happen overnight, sorry

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
is there any mileage in incorporating timthumb in to the re-worked Image Handler?
On the downside it's externally maintained code, but you *could* say that about PHP or jquery.
On the plus side it does the image resizing on the fly and could feasibly be dropped in to the zen_image function. It also has a crop function for when you absolutely need your images square.
I'm working with it now for a site where I need to resize the attribute images.

Sure I can see a lot of value as TimThumb includes options that are not part of the current Image Handler featureset. In particular these features:
- alignment - Crop alignment. c = center, t = top, b = bottom, r = right, l = left. The positions can be combined to create diagonal positions
- zoom / crop - Change the cropping and scaling settings
- filters - too many to mention. Let's you apply image filters to the modify the resized picture. For instance you can change brightness/ contrast or even blur the image
- sharpen - Apply a sharpen filter to the image, makes scaled down images look a little crisper
I wouldn't try to link to TimThumb persay, but porting/integrating these features into Image Handler seems like a SMASHING idea..
Now that said would YOU be interested in updating Image Handler to make these changes?? Frankly I don't have the bandwidth to tackle this and this change is also a bit over my head to tackle..

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
Well, some commercial modules have incorporated TimThumb rather messily into Zen. It obviously works but would need to be thought of a bit more.
I am kind of interested in that in my on-going exploration of what the best way of dealing with images is :-) Which Diva knows all about.
The advantage of TimThumb is that it is pretty actively developed because of it's use in a lot of wordpress themes. And it is powerful. Perhaps too powerful in some respects. But it is a very solid bit of coding that actually would not be all that hard to incorporate into Zen in a nice way.

:yes: I wonder if TimThumb is integrated with NextGen Gallery for WordPress.. NextGen certainly has many similar features supported by TimThumb..
-
Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
WordPress has it's own built in image crunching, which is getting increasingly sophisticated and timthumb is kind of getting left behind a bit. There was a spate of exploits that took a lot of sites down with timthumb a short while ago, but I guess if the disaster has already happened it's not going to happen again.
I'm pretty sure NextGen gallery uses GD/ImageMagick directly rather than through timthumb or uses WordPress image handling. I will crack it open and look at the code next time I am in the vicinity.
Image resizing really ought to be core within Zen Cart IMHO. I would love to be able to help but my bandwidth is also at 100% doing Work for Money. I will report back about NGG and WP though.

I am pretty sure it is indeed using GD/ImageMagick. You are aware that Image Handle ris also using GD/ImageMagick correct???

Perhaps, but for now it's not... In the meantime, there are plugins like Image Handler to fill the gap..:smile:

I understand..:yes:

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
Well, those exploits of TimThumb were closed amazingly quickly. Due to a lot of hard work by many people. It was actually very impressive. And version 2 was released without those particular vulnerabilities.
Yes, NGG uses it's own crunching I believe. Yes, wordpresses own image handling is getting much better.
I just put timthumb 2 up on a zen test site. Integration would be pretty easy. It took me ten minutes to get a working version going so it can't have been all that hard :-) But it is a bit slow. And looking at the code I am not sure why that is.
Hmmm, interesting....

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
We have been using ZenCart for a while, and I am not sure if anyone has the issue when trying to access additional images or the settings, where the following message is shown:-
Quote:
No Image Handler information found.
It won't let me uninstall, and we have had it since the first version.
But it still runs okay, just a niggle really, it is a shame there is no way to manually uninstall through SQL to try and reinstall.
A new image module sounds like a good idea, but Image Handler has been brilliant so far, the above being the only real issue.
I wish I could help with coding and such, but I am useless frankly lol. Mabye myself and other users could help donating to those that upgrade or create an image module. As we did when Tim Kroeger initially made this module.
-
Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
The intall/uninstall can be "run" manually by removing all the Image Handle r admin configuration options (which is really all the install/uninstall SQL does)
If it won't "let" you uninstall, that is indicative of corruption in your Image Handler files..
ALL of which could be resolved by re-installing Image Handler.. and let me be clear... when I say re-install I mean RE-UPLOAD the files for the version of Image Handler you are running (you don't say which version you are running) and then see if the un-install/install features work again..

While it's true that niccol is working on a new image module, there has been NOTHING posted AYWHERE which would indicate/imply that Image Handler is dead/dying/not being updated.. it's being updated.. but there is no E.T.A. on when it will be available, as this free work is secondary to paid work and private lives.

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
Hello Diva,
Thankyou kindly for your reply. Sorry, it was Image Handler 3.0 version 3. Yes, I understand your sterling efforts are outside your daily remits and personal commitments. I am sure many including myself appreciate your input, and I certainly am not against donating money where appropiate for your work.
I will follow the removal and reinstall procedure as you say, again, thanks for your valuable time helping me.
:smile:

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
Out of interest if anyone wants to have a play with the timthumb idea then they could have a look at http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...15#post1108215
It kind of strengthens my own personal belief that IH is kind of a bit over-complicated -- in a nice way :-) But that is just a very personal opinion. Oh, and I like externally maintained code as long as it is maintained. Otherwise, as has been mentioned I would not work with PHP and jQuery. Many of the Zen Cart mods are not maintained ---although as has been pointed out this does not apply to IH.
And I do like small footprint solutions :smile:

Image Handler 3 v1.5 support
Update on Zen Cart v1.5 compatibility update:
All is going well and there are several of us testing this. If you are interested in testing Image Handler PM me.. I need serious testers not folks looking to score an "early release" of Image Handler.:smile:

Crazy what work you guys put out "you put out"
Pretty new to this and have to launch soon so my experience at this point will not allow to much testing.
Not looking to score in that sense but I due to being new to Zen Cart I honestly almost have no other choice.
So my question is
Any timeline on when you would expect it for v1.5 ?
I know - soooorrrry but gotta ask
Thanks for support - all this is soooo awesome -wow

Waiting for feedback from testers.. Will keep folks updated as there is information to report..
In that same vein, PLEASE do not send PMs asking for a status on the v1.5 updates.. I won't answer these kinds of PMs (sorry..:no:) as I post updates on the progress being made HERE in the support thread..
THIS is your source for the latest updates..:smile:
Thanks for understanding and patience.. Shouldn't be too much longer now..:smile: (and NO I can't give any more of an ETA than that..)

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
I have the problem below, it seems quite common, without an easy fix. I get this error code at the bottom of the IH3 page after trying to upload an extra image. The images dont actually work or upload. I get "Success Image successfully saved." at the top of the page and this at the very bottom-
Error!
Unable to determine the page link!
Function used:
zen_href_link('', '', 'NONSSL')
Im running 1.3.9h and am having this same error on 2 sites, both on the same server.
Im running Image Handler3 v3.0 for v1.3.x.
Other mods are magiczoomplus, easypopulate4.

Re: Image Handler 3 Support Thread
This has been reported many times in this thread.. Did you look at the commonly suggested fixes/remedies??
Also are you uploading a "default" image first?? In addition to other remedies already posted here, if you are uploading a new image to the large or medium image and NOT the default first, you could get this error. You must upload the default image when uploading new images.. If you wish to upload a different medium or large image you can do so after uploading the default image..
