Hi Anne,
Just another quick update. I have checked another users website from a previous post on my phone, and it displays responsive as it should do. So I'm guessing that I have an error somewhere in my file? I will recheck them against each other, but have you got any pointers onto which file it might be? Like I said, it is reverting back to the classic/default zen cart template which is really confusing!

I have no idea what the problem is, or if there really is a problem. No one else has reported this so I am guessing that it is related to some customization you have made.

This is another great template. I'm choosing between this one and Carlisle Fresh.

Can't decide before I have the following cleared up:

1. I noticed that the footer doesn't seem to show properly on the demo...

2. Can the black areas be easily changed to another colour?

3. Can "All Products" be easily added to the navigation bar?

4. On the product page, can I easily remove certain links under Information Section / More Information Section on the lower left or completely remove the whole section?

5. Is this template easier to use for those not good at php or code editing, compared with Carlisle Fresh?

6. Does the layout (not just the size of the webpage, text and pictures) of Carlisle Fresh changes according to the size of the device used just like this template?

You should definitely use this one. It is more advanced than the Carlisle Fresh as it uses php mobile detect to serve up the optimized layouts. It is also more recently updated.

Just wondering after seeing the above, do I have to update the width (like the % above) of my images in the codes for the optimized layout feature to work properly if my images are of a different size than those in the demo? Or does the optimized layout feature of this template already takes that into account? I'm a bit confused.

Great template, how do I edit the custom left slide out banner?

Also how do I edit the images on the other banners, not the main images the hover over ones?

Website seems to be working fine since we made it live. I do have 1 issue which I've searched and searched but can't find the answer to. It was posted earlier in this thread but then the poster went off on a rant and seems to have picked a different template.

I've added more pages under More Information and although they all work fine, the display on the page titles has me baffled. I can't figure out whats missing to make the page titles appear uniform - I've attached a screen shot and circled in Red the spacing issue.

Hi, stupid question again, the template is great but on iphones the catagory menu cannot be fully accessed. I tried it out on several iphones.

This happens on iphones, when you click on the drop down menu, the drop down works fine. Except i have alot of catagories, if you go to scroll down it, the second your finger touches the screen the menu disapears.

I wanted to post this here, but accedently opened a new thread :blush:


A few ours ago I installed Westminster New on my website. On my laptop it looks fine.
I'm working local/offline/on my computer, but i wanted to take a look on my mobile phone too. So i typed in the IP of my laptop/zencart and that gave me something like this (i also don't see pictures)

That picture is of the zencart forum not a website running zencart, try downloading the opera mobile emulator and see what your site looks like in that, as that will actually be on your computer

It isn't on a live server because my current webshop is on there :wink:

To me it looks like, the mobile phone can't find the pictures.
If I wan't to check if the pictures are in the folder where the should be, witch folder would that be?

I know it is Nigelt74. I don't know how to get a picture of my phone onto my laptop, therefor i used a printscreen of zencart going wrong :P It's the same thing I see on my phone, only I also don't see pictures.

I'm going to take a look at that thing you mensioned.

I can see everything now, but the first thing a noticed is that the pictures (the banner and the homadds) are not next to each other. The last in colomn is on the next row.

I can't edit anymore.
I found this website http://mobiletest.me/ and i checked it in there. Working fine for every device, accept for the samsung (and I have a samsung whaha)

and what exactly does "doesn't work" mean?

I have not really looked at it Diva, but a quick look....
I have 2 languages next to each other. With the samsung the are on top of each other.
Also the buttonn for the menu is lower than it should be.
When i click on categories, nothing happens. And clicking on information, goes to the side a little.
That is what i notices directly, but didn't check further yet.

If you are testing the site from a desktop using an emulator for a mobile phone you need to use the url:

Hi! I loooooove this template and this thread and the add-ons one have basically been like my bible the past week while I modify my site! But I haven't found anything on what I need...

For starters, I am really not very familiar with php (I'll be honest, not well-versed in anything more advanced than html) but have been able to figure out *most* things so far.

On my site (http://thevegansexshop.co/shop/ --homepage is SFW, though there is a banner that reads "The Vegan S3x Shop"), I have the Westminster New template installed, and on the top menu bar I want to remove the "Categories" and "Contact" links and replace with an autopopulating list of my categories. I know how to remove "Categories" and "Contacts," BUT I don't understand php enough to figure out how to put my categories list there (especially automatically). I would prefer to be able to have them auto fill (like how the drop down menu for Products autofills), BUT if that's not possible, I don't mind manually adding them and changing as necessary.

Out of the box the template pulls all of the categories/ sub categories dynamically and displays them in the drop down menu.

Hi,
Just installed this template on my website. Can some one please let me know how to edit Page Title and Footer. Because even after editing header.php these two things are same as before (Westminster New Zen Cart Template)

I would like to instal fast and easy checkout. I am now trying to get CSS/JS Loader installed, but if I change the header file i go wrong because I keep getting a blank page. I most be putting the code at the wrong place, but i don't know enough about codes I don't know where i'm going wrong.

My guess is that you are not editing the template override files. See the FAQs section of this site for a tutorial about how to change your page title.

See the readme.html file for instructions on how to edit the footer.

I know Anne, but i can figure out what i need to do here.
So far I have done step 1, 2 and 3.

Step 4.... i have a completly blanc page. Absolutly nothing there anymore.
I must have done something wrong, but i don't know what that is.



1) Create a back-up of your files and database. Specifically back-up includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/html_header.php.
2) Upload all files in this package while maintaining the directory structure (rename YOUR_TEMPLATE to your custom template folder name)
3) Login to your and the configuration menu should be automatically added to CONFIGURATION->CSS/JS LOADER CONFIGURATION
4) Open your website and if all CSS and JS are working correctly, the installation is complete
5) If there are CSS issues, either your stylesheet isn't loading (make sure your CSS is in includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/css/) or your CSS is invalid and breaking when minified. Either correct your invalid CSS or disable the minify option in the configuration.
6) If you had embedded JavaScript, CSS, or meta data into your backed-up html_header.php file, either move these lines of code to includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/jscript/jscript_sitewide.php (name of file can be anything and will load site-wide by Zen Cart), or build an auto loader for CSS JS Loader in includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATES/auto_loaders/ (recommended if using shared libraries like jQuery).

I like to change the colors of the menu where it says categories, information and contact us.
The background of the menu, the color of the words, the color of the black background behind the words when you hover, ect.

I'm looking for ours but I can't find it.
The elements in chrome say for the total background, ul.slimenu in responsive.default.css but whatever I do and where I do it, nothing is changing.

Can someone help my with where i should look?

Yes, anything can be added or changed in the template. You will need to edit the includes/templates/override/common/tpl_header.php files (tpl_header_tablet.php and tpl_header_mobile.php) and add your css for positioning.

But that is then also showing in mobile view?
I find that that is to buisy.
Can you also add a picture or tekst, to show on the computer, but not on mobile phones?

Update to my question. I don't know what happend, but yesterday after changing the colors of the slimenu, nothing happend, and now they do work. SO problem is solved :-)

If you don't want something to show on phones then you can hide it in the responsive_mobile.css file.

I just started up my computer to work on the website. Yesterday I didn't notice this and today I haven't done anything yet, but I see the categorie boxes om the home page, below the homeadds pictures and above the featured product.
They haven't been there before, right? I also don't want them there.
I wich file must I look to remove this?

On maaaany of my pages, the heading (H1) titles default to the text "FLEXIBLE FOOTER MENU" instead of the title that is supposed to be there. I've commented it out in the code on several pages, but there are soooooo many instances of this, it's like every time I click on a page to edit something else, I see this. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know of a fix that doesn't involve individually hunting down ever occurrence of this and editing each individual line?

This is a bug in the flexible footer menu plugin. You can install the new version of the plugin to fix this.

Hi Anne,
I see that in the live demo I am able to zoom in in the pictures or expand them to make it bigger by clicking on it. Mine doesn't do that. Is this something recently new within the last month or so?

I just installed the zen lightbox plugin. However, on the product display page, the main top categories turn out weird. It doesn't have the drop down arrows to choose sub-categories from. for example, this page http://myvanityfashion.com/index.php...roducts_id=900

I need help again. One of my titles disapeared in the Information Side bar. When I use firefox's developer's took kit, I can add it back in. But, I can't find which actual file I need to modify. I have used the developer's tool kit and have still come up short in finding the right files. Do you know which file lists the content in the information sidebox?

I am having the same problem as Thannaree and Kalastaja.
The empty featured products page is showing TEXT_NO_PRODUCTS in stead of sorry no featured products or something.
I also can not find where to fix this.

If i add a define TEXT_NO_PRODUCTS lint to the language file, it will show sorry no products, but it will also break my website. SO that is not the answer to the problem.

It is the answer.. perhpas you need to explain what you mean by "it will also break my website".. What does that mean?? Do you get dancing hampsters on the screen?? Do you get a blank page.. Or is there something else going on when you say "it will also break my website".

We are having a problem with the dropdown menu and not sure what has happened.
The website was working fine until just, and now the dropdown menu is not working. It has the hamburger icon even though it is viewed on a desktop.

No file changes have been made for at least 5 days, and I have checked logs and files and nobody has hacked the site. The only thing that has happened is I believe that the hosting company have been having server problems for the last hour or so.

The menu would not just break on its own. Some change must have been made ;) I would recommend restoring your backup from before the problem started, or back tracking through your changes to find where the problem started.

It does look like a problem/conflict with either the jquery library or the slimmenu js file.

Thanks for replying Anne. I am the only person who works on the site, and I know it was working this morning because I used it. It really is strange because I know 100% that I haven't made any changes.

I will go through the files and compare them to make sure they are still the same.

Do you know of any files that call an outside website's code/javascript for the slim menu that may be causing it?

You were right, it was the slim menu js file. I did make changes to it last week, and it worked fine since then, but for some reason it just decided to break now?! Crazy stuff but at least it is sorted now.

It was probably related to a caching problem, or maybe you didn't refresh the page after you made your changes. Web sites never break on their own ;)

I have been told that the problem I have/had could be a template thing.
I use westminster new.
I have a few addons, but the last ones i installed are the dynamic filter and stock by attribute.
Before adding stock by attribute to my website, everything looked normal.
But then after installing stock by attribute, the place where my products need to show up was somewhere else.
Categories with no products showed up on the right, where everything normaly is,
but categories with products in it, showed up under the left sidebox (dynamic filter, categories on or of)

I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out a change to the css for the bettercategories style for the categories menu. I would like the selected category menu item to remain highlighted when being viewed, to make it more clear to visitors

I had a weird problem like that happening on my site. I found out the cause - when I was in a category which didn't have options in the dynamic filter it was causing the layout to break. I never found out how to rectify what was wrong with the code, so I just made sure every category had at least one option available (excluding brand) in dynamic filter.
