Start by checking the threads in the Similar Threads section at the bottom of the page. Then you need to upgrade immediately as 1.3.8 is vulnerable to some serious security problems.
Hi Ok I have up graded. now is there any way to add an order for a client with out paying for it via paypal as he has payed and the order was lost.:frusty:
You can enable the Check/MoneyOrder module and use that to place the order over again. And then click Remove on that module if you don't wish to offer that method to others.
And then to prevent the problems you've had with the PayPal IPN module, click Remove on that module and click Install on the Express Checkout module and configure it www.zen-cart.com/getpaypal
Ok now I'm not happy again, a new client placed an order and there is nothing in my orders but I can see what he has ordered as it tells me in my paypal just as well I added this to my paypal account.
How do I solve this issue please I have updated to the latest zencart but when I do an order myself it all works fine.
So, what version of Zen Cart are you using now? ie: Go to Admin->Tools->Server Info, and copy-and-paste the Zen Cart Version information, including Zen Cart Database Version and Version History.
And is the Express Checkout module enabled? Or still IPN/Website Payments Standard?

PayPal Website Payments Standard (IPN) and Check/MoneyOrder module
Yes, that's good for the version information.
Now, what about PayPal. Which modules are active under Admin->MOdules->Payment ?
Clearly your server is having trouble receiving alerts of new payments from PayPal's servers. That's one of the shortcomings of PayPal's IPN architecture.
So, if you switch to using Express Checkout as I directed you two weeks ago, you'll stop having those problems.
The "Order Status" column on the Admin->Modules->Payment screen is ONLY telling you what status the orders will be placed into when that payment method is used to complete an order.
It's NOT telling you that the module is pending or anything like that.
However, if it's saying Pending, then that means you've either got the module set into "Authorize Only" (instead of Final Sale) mode in its settings, or you've specifically set the Order Status setting within the module to Pending. The default is Processing and Final Sale, which is what I'd recommend you use.
The only reason to use Authorize-Only is if you plan to ship products several days/weeks after the order is placed instead of immediately.
Ok thank you for that info. so is there no way to find this lost invoice. and alco I am using the paypal account for othe web site like ebay would that have any thing to do with it but I have never had an issue before. Thank you for your help.
There are various ways:
a) fastest and easiest: contact the customer and ask for details
b) login as the customer and look at their shopping-cart (maybe install the master password addon to do this)
c) install the paypal-sessions-viewer addon which can look at IPN data, although this addon will be useless once switching to Express Checkout, and should be deleted then.
Zen Cart doesn't care about that. It can happily co-exist with other sites using the same account.
Ok thank you for you help, sorry its took so long to reply but it was 2am and just got back from work now, just wanted to say thank you for your help.
