Okay, this is it! The definitive template for me and my main site: http://www.prommart.com/

I have to stop chasing templates and working on my site itself, but you really hit it out of the ball-park this time, Anne.

Still have to fix my logo and continue rebuilding plugins but with the new, wider width I think I can show 4 products across the category page while still keeping my right column:

Couple of things for others:

1. If you're coming from another Picaflor template (as I just did) using another homepage slider, you can delete it or disable it with an ending ~ in modules/pages/index. That way the slider code will not unnecessarily show in View Source on homepage and category pages.

2. In english/header.php you might also take out the promo1 code - "Free shipping, etc" - as it also shows in View Source but this template apparently doesn't use it.

I'm thinking that the above are more a Google thing.

3. The english.php. I'm using my one from Brighton Pets as it was set (or I set it, don't remember) for utf8.

The link text in the drop-down header menu seems a little bigger than, say, Brighton Pets. May ask how to make it a tad smaller, don't know.

The header2 banner: Yes! I briefly turned one on and it looks like it nicely fits (in IE9, haven't checked other browsers) and doesn't really disrupt the header area.

This template is more than just elegant. It is simply awsome!

Hello I was hoping you could tell me where the dark grey colored bar in the header is located. if you take a look at my website, delaneyjewelry.com, you'll see that its missing. Id like to replace it. Can you tell me which file to exit and what that spot should be? Thank you in advance.

I believe that the bar is actually a background image: bk.png When I was using Brighton Pets (another nice template) it was fairly easy to change image/colors. But it looks like it is now showing on your site.

Your top menu links look a little jammed up at the top of my screen. I think mine moved down into place when I enabled my flag/languages in the header.

I still have yet to make a good logo.

Yes, I looked at the site in firefox and the background was showing. Check includes/templates/glasgow_neat/css/stylesheet.css for the css file, or includes/templates/glasgow_neat/images for the background image.

Hi Anne,

Is there a css setting so I can set the greyed attributes/add to cart box to remain to the right of the main photo, instead of dropping below the main photo?

This product example:

I've set the size of the main photo, and moved the product name above the pic, so the greyed attributes and add to cart box would appear - and stay - immediately to the right of the main photo in my monitor, whether in or out of IE "compatability view."

However, my sister mentioned - and I just confirmed by looking at her computer via gotomypc - that when NOT in IE compatability view that the greyed box moves below the photo. Same with Brighton Pets.

Yes, you have to adjust the css. Add a min-width to the main product image container and a width or min-width to the #cart.

Hello, what a great lot of templates you have created! I am new to zen cart and I so far have been following your tutorials from your website. But I am stuck now on how to amend the titles of the mega menu. Do I need to do it through admin or by editing files directly? Many thanks :)

So far I have done this but it did not change.

To change the title text to say what you want, open the includes/languages/english/meta_tags.php file in your text editor. Find the following line of code:

// page title
define('TITLE', 'Zen Cart!');

// Site Tagline
define('SITE_TAGLINE', 'The Art of E-commerce');

Replace the title and tagline text with your own text, making sure that the single quote marks are not left out and new quote marks are not added.

Save the edited file to includes/languages/english/custom/meta_tags.php and upload it to your server.


Next is how to change this

Hello,

I have just uploaded to test site our modified version. Great template by the way! two things - On the home screen I can not scroll down using the mousewheel. I can on any other screen. secondly the banner text across the scrolling images can be edited but can I move this banner to below the images?

1. when I click a catalog and go to this catalog‘s page, all products display there come with a short ’description‘.
please cheack out the image I uploaded or http://www.buygreatdress.com/index.p...=index&cPath=1

I want to delete those ’description‘s that let each single product in the list only display product image name price and buy-it-button.

please advice me how to do it.

Sorry, back again – but I promise to spell your name correctly this time :)

I was just wondering if there was any way to change the page links from the Header Menu?

If someone on the site clicks on the Quick Links, Shop, or Brands tabs – without selecting any of the dropdown options – then they are taken back to the homepage. Is there any way to alter this so that if the click one of these tabs then they are taken to the All Products or New Products page?

I have just uploaded a new template glasgow neat and done almost all the configuration i could on there but i am stuck and need help.
1)I can add to categories and price them and display them but I cannot see any thing to configure brands although i saw some otherwebsite from zencart where the user has been able to all all his brands. I need help
2)How can I get the users/customers to post comments since a large part of my market is user feedback.
3( how do i get rid of thses zencart ads and banners.

For #1 and #3 you can do a search of the FAQ's section of this site for a tutorials about how to do these things in zen cart.

I would check the plugins section of this site for a module that will meet your needs.

Nice template! I am in the middle of customizing it for a client. The cleint is asking if the slideshow itself is customizeable. She wants to change positioning and such. Found the css file but am unsure if that is the way to go. Ideas?

Yes, you can make any positioning type changes by editing the stylesheets.

If you want to use the template in another language then you have to copy the template lanugage files to your new language and translate them. This is the same with any template.

Im a long time lurker, first time poster... I hope you can tell me what im doing wrong...

Background to this install issue, running zen cart on main site - no problem ( www.way2sexy.com and thanks i love it), problem occuered when i was trying to add this themplate to an ADDON domain.

So Addon done
New Zen Done (but had to upload it to main public http to make it work on the 2nd zen)
Temp upload - Its on the list (demo looks nothing like yours)
SQL patch - ERROR

Failed: 3
ERROR: Cannot insert configuration_key "PRODUCT_LISTING_LAYOUT_STYLE" because it already exists
ERROR: Cannot insert configuration_key "PRODUCT_LISTING_COLUMNS_PER_ROW" because it already exists
ERROR: Cannot insert configuration_key "DEFINE_ABOUT_US_STATUS" because it already exists
Note: 3 statements ignored. See "upgrade_exceptions" table for additional details.


Please treat me like im stupid, bear in mind way2sexy was my first atemp ever of doing anything like this...

You will need to edit:

includes/templates/glasgow_neat/common/tpl_mega_menu.php
includes/templates/glasgow_neat/common/tpl_footer.php

and remove the target="_blank" from the anchor tags.

Godaddy is not the best host for zen cart. I would strongly recommend doing a search on the forum to see all of the problems associated with this web host.

You should be uploading the files in the includes directory of the template package to the includes directory on your server.

If you want to use the template with another language (this is the same with any template) then you have to copy any files from the english directories to your new language and make any necessary translations.

You can edit the includes/templates/glasgow_neat/common/tpl_home_slider.php file. To remove the slide show you need to delete this file, remove the call for this file in the includes/templates/glasgow_neat/common/tpl_main_page.php, and remove the related slider files. You can download the rotating image slider module to see which files are used in the slider.

Just a quickie, could you please tell me how to get rid of Our Newest Arrivals or change it, I can't seem to locate it in the files. (overlays the slider on the main page)

If you post a link to your site I can take a look.

The templates have been cross browser tested in ie7 and ie8. If you have made css changes you may need to cross browser test again and add new styles to the stylesheet.css file. The templates come with a cross browser javascript installed so it is easy to do this. See the readme.html file credits section for the cross browser js author's site and for more info about using the script for your cross browser testing.

The only changes I made in the css were text sizes and colours.....I tried uploading the original css file that comes with the tempplate but the gap is still there :( I have tried also to persuade the client to upgrade his browser but he just started shouting at me and said if he has this browser then so will others. What a pain in the bum!

Hi Anne,

I'm in the middle of installing this template for a friend. I must have done something really, really wrong, because so far all I have is your logo across the top. I've tried changing it to my friend's, and it doesn't show. The store items also don't show. Nothing shows. Help! I'm sure I must have missed some really simple step, but so far I have no idea what it is.

1: I followed the instruction in the ReadMe to disable some mega menus, I found the 'SERVICE' can not be disabled. Here is what I add to the stylesheet_mega_menu.css:

I have to change the name to 1.jpg, 2.jpg...etc. Looks like the slides is still calling pictures by the original way. Where is the problem?

3: How can I adjust the gap between the mega menu and the slides. The gap looks a bit big for me.

4: When I click the sub categories, there are strange characters in front of the sub-category name, like '|_':

You can make changes to the font sizes in the stylesheet files in the includes/templates/glasgow_neat/css directory.

1. Try:

2. Make sure that you remove all files associated with the rotating slide show before you install another slider.

3. If you want to make css changes to the template I would strongly recommend using firefox and the web develper tools available for it, particularly firebug. It will tell you which line of which css file needs to be edited.

4. This question has been asked and answered many times on the forum and there may even be a tutorial in the FAQ's section about it. If you do a search you will find your answer ;-)

There are several plugins for the product info page available. You can move elements on the page around by editing the incldues/templates/glasgow_neat/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php and using css.

hey anne, i finally moved my zencart from my localhost to a live webhost today, everything is working fine, but when i change my templates to glasgow neat, it gave me this error:

I just installed the Glasgaw neat on my site (hookafrog.com) which is a 1.51, a bizzard thing happens: "cart" on top and "Brands" in the menu are showing php code. I was hoping you would have some idea where I can go to clean up or modify a file.
the other two templates I had used are "classic" of course and "smooth_green".
Woth mentioning also is that when I was copying the "include" folder, there were about 3 or 4 "failure to copy the file" not "overwrite".:frusty:
so I chmod 777 'incluide", but with the same result.
any ideas you may have??....thanks

Kind of a dumb question I guess but I wanted to see if you've heard of this. My site is now, all of the sudden, getting a 500 error on just the home page and quicklinks. Server error
The website encountered an error while retrieving http://www.easyonthetush.com/. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.

On a different browser I get WSOD.

The only big things I've really there are the site title and taglines. From what I've read with people who've had similar problems, sometimes it is the front page slideshow. Had you heard of the slideshow causing a problem with people and is there a way to fix it without outright disabling it?

Hi Anne,
This is quite a good template and all the info that goes along with it it´s very helpfull.
However I am stuck with one problema. I can edit the width of the dropdown menu size (submenú), however I cannot add more space for all the characters of categories to be displayed on the same row. It still goes to two different rows. I don´t know what do I have to edit.
