Glasgow Neat Template Support Thread

Hi Anne,

I'm in the middle of installing this template for a friend. I must have done something really, really wrong, because so far all I have is your logo across the top. I've tried changing it to my friend's, and it doesn't show. The store items also don't show. Nothing shows. Help! I'm sure I must have missed some really simple step, but so far I have no idea what it is.

If you get a 500 internal server error, just hit refresh. The server is being stupid.

Some questions:

1: I followed the instruction in the ReadMe to disable some mega menus, I found the 'SERVICE' can not be disabled. Here is what I add to the stylesheet_mega_menu.css:

/*bof customer service*/
.mega-payments{float:left;}
.mega-confidence{float:right;width:60%;}
.mega-about{float:left;width:70%;}
.mega-right{float:right;position: relative;margin-left: 10px;width:145px;}
.customerservice-li {display:none;}
.manufacturers-li {display:none;}

The website is: www.easycomfort.ca
You can see that 'Manufacturers' are disabled, while 'Service' is still there. You sure it is 'customerservice-li'?

2: I have changed the slides to 'JS Slide Show'. One strange thing happened: the slide show pictures with the name slide1.jpg, slide2.jpg...etc can not be called. I have to change the name to 1.jpg, 2.jpg...etc. Looks like the slides is still calling pictures by the original way. Where is the problem?

3: How can I adjust the gap between the mega menu and the slides. The gap looks a bit big for me.

4: When I click the sub categories, there are strange characters in front of the sub-category name, like '|_':



Is it a problem? How can I remove it?

You can make changes to the font sizes in the stylesheet files in the includes/templates/glasgow_neat/css directory.

1. Try:

2. Make sure that you remove all files associated with the rotating slide show before you install another slider.

3. If you want to make css changes to the template I would strongly recommend using firefox and the web develper tools available for it, particularly firebug. It will tell you which line of which css file needs to be edited.

4. This question has been asked and answered many times on the forum and there may even be a tutorial in the FAQ's section about it. If you do a search you will find your answer ;-)
