Planing To buy a Paid SEO Module. Which one better, please suggest.
My permalink doesn't work. currently i am using ceon uri mapping. But its doesnt work.and google web master showing me a duplicate url with link.
I m also used Ultimate seo but it appear C and P on url that i don't want.
so i decide to buy a module which one work perfectly.
Thanks
You are aware neither of the modules you mentioned is a "SEO" module, right? They are both just modules one can use to provide alternate URLs for various Zen Cart pages (products, categories, ez-pages, etc)...
If you are having problems using one of the two modules you mentioned... The fastest way to get help is to first read and then post in the module's support thread (if the topic has not been covered). In your post you should include exact details about your Zen Cart installation, module version, what you are seeing, what you want to see, a link to your site, and any other pertinent details.
CEON URI Mapping [support thread]
Ultimate URLs [support thread]
NOTE: If you have the commercial version of CEON URI Mapping, the commercial version is not supported on these forums. In this case you will need to contact the current company providing support, or look for a paid consultant / contractor for assistance. A quick web search should point you to the correct site to buy the commercial version and also where you can get support for the commercial version.
Are you looking for any other specific "SEO" functionality / changes?
Attachment 13257My problem is here.My permalink doesn't work.
First thing first you need to decide which rewriter to settle on, it's possible that one may conflict with the other. Why not start by removing both, then make a decision (as lhungil suggests) read the support threads to gain an understanding of what they do and how they do it.
I haven't used Ultimate SEO (because it hadn't had the Lhungil magic touch at the time I was researching), I use CEON URI, so I cannot comment on Ultimate SEO other than I know it's been made 'right' by Lhungil. I can comment on CEON however and it works beautifully when installed (correctly).
So where have your installations gone wrong?
After Finished c uri maping installation. still i can see.
1.index.php?main_page=about_us
2./index.php?main_page=shippinginfo
3./index.php?main_page=site_map
4.index.php?main_page=gv_faq
5./index.php?main_page=discount_coupon
6./index.php?main_page=conditions
I want to example blew
1.mysite/1.about_us.html
2.mysite/shippinginfo.html
...And you really shouldn't use the .html suffix anyway. That is irrelevant to the user, just more gobbledegook that doesn't add information. It comes from very old SEO ideas that search engines don't like dynamic pages and adding the .html would fool them into thinking the pages were static.Quote:
But for your info you won't get the .html suffix with CEON as far as I know.
Continuing to try to understand: neither is a "SEO" module? Not trying to go for the all out discussion, could just use the cliff notes version: meaning only covers a portion of what makes up all that is SEO, or truly has no relationship with it?
The question also about obtaining specific "SEO" functionality, I personally would say sure would like to do what is possible to maintain SEO "acceptance". But also if uri rewriters like these two don't help get closer to that I would be interested in recommendations/schooling on what would.
Just saying the primary focus of the modules mentioned in this thread is not to "automagically" provide SEO for one's website. All three modules mentioned do allow one to provide alternative URLs with semantically relevant keywords. This is the primary focus of the three modules mentioned.
Such URLs may have a small impact on usability for visitors, listings in search engines, and be desirable for other business reasons. However I feel they are only a small part of a much larger picture and it irks me to hear people call these modules a "SEO module" when the primary focus is on allowing alternative URLs.
The original question was along the lines of "help me find a SEO module" (not help me change the URLs). The OP responded with "permalink" while I was typing the message you quoted. My message was intended to help educate the OP without going into massive detail about SEO and also provide helpful information and links to the support threads for the mentioned modules.
