Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
HI Anne:
I really like the 155 Responsive Classic template because I use the Winchester Responsive on another site for now until it is upgraded to 155.
Aside from customizing colors I have a couple requests.
I would like to streamline the Header and Search side box to match the Winchester, including the Cart Total on both the mobile and desktop templates.
For the mobile, I will just use the Header Search.
See the attached pics. Where would I find the code and can I simply copy/paste from the Winchester code?
I would also like to use css buttons on the mobile side because the buttons are too small to read.
Which choice do I use to prevent a double search box on the mobile. Thanks!

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
If I add sideboxes how do I get them to change in the mobile version like the standard ones do?
-
Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
The side-boxes for specific devices in v1.5.5 Responsive Classic are controlled by CSS.
Open these 3 files:
/includes/templates/responsive_classic/css/responsive_default.css
/includes/templates/responsive_classic/css/responsive_mobile.css
/includes/templates/responsive_classic/css/responsive_tablet.css
The responsive_default.css file manipulates the side-boxes for all devices if a UA (User-Agent) is not detected.
The responsive_mobile.css & responsive_tablet.css files manipulates the side-boxes for specific devices if a UA (User-Agent) is detected
Each file will have code that starts with:
Code:
/*bof side-boxes*/
/* ADD { display:none;visibility:hidden; } to Hide Side-Box */
/* LEAVE BLANK { } to Show Side-Box */
Take a look at the CSS and how the stock side-boxes are handled.

Thank you. Worked perfectly! Simple when you know where to look...

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
Just installed 1.5.5 and trying to work the style sheet for responsive classic. I just need the logo to center. Spent all afternoon with trial and error and no luck. Any insights appreciated. Edited this to reflect some fixes i found but still the logo needs centering.
-
Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
Did you try just deleting the css pages you modified and reloading the originals and clearing the cache in your browser?

When asking for help with templates and CSS, it's important to provide a link to the site (even a specific page, if relevant) so we can provide a useful answer. Otherwise you force us to guess or give extremely generic answers which are often things you've already tried. If you don't tell us what you tried, then we're probably going to tell you those basics.

So, no advice for these? The Mobile buttons are small and look washed out. Hard to read.

The Responsive Classic template, expects to use CSS buttons ... which it appears you already have turned on.
And I can't see any issues with mobile buttons currently on rc101dotcom

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
I want to add more contrast and just kill the pill buttons all together.
I like the buttons of the desktop site better.

Hmmm ... it appears that all the desktop-based "mobile emulators" do show the CSS buttons in mobile mode, but some of the actual mobile devices are still rendering them shaped as lighter-colored pill buttons.
I imagine Anne has a quicker fix for that than I do.

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
Team, is the guidance to modify responsive_classic directly, or to template off it? If the latter, please see my notes in the thread

Might also be time to update

I realize you asked specifically about the Mobile Menu, so I will assume that you've already turned off Category Counts here: https://www.zen-cart.com/content.php?198
And, doing that DOES turn off the Category Counts, even in the mobile menu.
But you're probably referring to the "sub-menu counter" that gives an indicator about how many sub-links are available in each sub-level in the mobile-specific menu.
So, to turn off the counts of how many sub-levels are available in the whole mobile-menu, edit /includes/templates/YOUR_RESPONSIVE_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_modules_mobile_menu.php:
Line 159:
... change that to false, and ALL sub-level indicators will no longer have ANY counters. Be sure you assess whether you really want that turned off.

Yes the sub-menu counters are what I meant. What is the benefit of having them?

Just information for your users. Not saying it's right or wrong.
I'll answer your question with a question: Why do you feel the need to turn them off?

Haha!
Nothing wrong with having a personal preference.
My point earlier was just to consider whether it matches the preference for the majority of your specific customers.

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
I believe that this is base page-processing ... but just in case. When I enter some comments during checkout that include double-quotes:
Code:
Here are some"comments".
they wind up as
Code:
Here are some "comments".
on the checkout-confirmation page and, ultimately, in the order.

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
Hi,
I've not used Zen Cart for some while now so I am somewhat rusty with it, nice to see the responsive template included in this latest version....looks like i returned just at the right time!
Sadly for me this template is not responding well, on a fresh install I am struggling to get the template to load, switch to classic green & all ok, switch back and sometimes it will load & this is the same for Chrome & Firefox. If i do get it to load the F5 refresh will NOT work whatever, to refresh I MUST use the home button which works fine.
The template looks too good to switch back to classic green so I will have to resolve it. Clearing the cache lost it completely & as yet still have blank screens on this template.
Anyone else experienced such problems who can advise?
This is localhost only at present with latest Wampserver3 installed this week to try to rectify this.
thanks

I don't believe that this is a template related issue. Maybe the core developers have more insight?
Thanks,

I have not experienced these problems. Are you on a vanilla install of the cart or do you have plugins/modifications added?
Thanks,
Anne

Hi Anne & thanks for reply.
As the template author, if you have not experienced this I can only guess the problem is at my end (which i did suspect)
BTW no plugins was a fresh install but not sure of term "vanilla" though.
Will try again & report exactly what happens & what php version ect i have on localhost.
Once again thanks for replay.

I can not see the errors in the image, they are too small. I have only installed on a live server. Maybe there is something wrong with your wamp set up?
Thanks,

Those messages all suggest it's trying to load external resources and it can't find them because you're offline.

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
Just searched wampserver security & found this http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/smb...r-wamp-server/
Anyone with knowledge on this who can advise, maybe it's just the dinosaur in me or am i just paranoid?
I'm guessing anyone using responsive templates Zen Cart or any other type will incur the same problem.
Thanks again

Don't run your live site on Windows.

I only want to test the site at this stage & do slight mods on my system, it's been some time since I worked with ZC but when I did in the past I always worked locally & once finished upload to server.
From my understanding now, no one does this anymore.
-
Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
Your understanding is incorrect; this is in fact a good practice.
You do not need to worry excessively about locking down your local WAMP installation, assuming your router blocks inbound traffic, you have a firewall, etc.
-
Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
Brill thanks, I can get on with my project now.

Hi
I have tried this method in order to get the categories sidebox to display in mobile view. In desktop responsive view it works but it's not working in mobile view. Firebug shows me for the #categories sidebox there's an inline style with display: none; visibility: hidden;.
Code:
<div style="display: none; visibility: hidden;" id="categories" class="leftBoxContainer">
Am I missing something?
thanks

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
To maximize user experience on mobile devices, jQuery was added to hide all side-boxes regardless of CSS.
open:
/includes/templates/responsive_classic/jscript/jscript_responsive_framework.php
should be line 37:
Code:
$('#categories').css({ 'display': 'none', 'visibility': 'hidden' });
change to:
Code:
$('#categories').css({ });

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
Hello,
I'm liking 1.55 so thanks to all involved and to Anne for her templates.
As the responsive template is 'out of the box', when making adjustments to the template files can I assume that these will be unaffected by future Zencart releases when upgrading. Or do I need to set up a custom template as previously?

That all depends on how you do your upgrades. If you carefully and intentionally compare all files and manually merge changes from the new version into your files (or vice versa), then you'll be fine. But if you just blindly copy all the new files and replace your own without doing any inspections to preserve your customizations, then you will be wiping out your own changes. So, you can see it's all up to how you do it. When upgrading (especially templates) you should always manually merge customizations, not blindly replace things.

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
Rather than use the define pages editor, I tend to do everything with ezpages, I've disabled the information sidebox, so this doesn't show in desktop.
So how do I prevent 'information' from showing up in the menu on mobile/tablet?
TIA.

Edit:
I commented out a bunch of stuff in
/includes/templates/responsive_classic/templates/tpl_modules_mobile_menu.php and it seems to have done the trick. If there's a nicer way please advise.

zc 1.5.5 w Responsive Sheffield Blue 2.0
Is there an update/hack/patch/snippet I can use to include iPad Pro (12.9") in the mobile detect? My header scrunches up in portrait mode (but everything works). Everything seems fine in landscape mode. It looks like this tablet isn't recognized as a tablet - all the sideboxes are present etc.
It's not a big issue - probably only few people other than me using this and who knows if Apple will keep it. But just thought I'd ask.
Asking on this forum as it seems are more general question than specific to the template I'm using.

You can download the latest version of mobile detect here https://github.com/serbanghita/Mobil...ile_Detect.php
see if that solves your problem.

Yes, this is correct. You can take a look at the menu authors site for the menu for more information on customizing it:

I love zen cart.......with the new responsive theme. Finally....
Hey, my ez pages are set to left column only. On my droid they will not appear. But if I set the ez pages to header, they will appear on the android. I really dont want another navigation bar in the header. Is there a work around?
Thanks for finally putting out ZC with a default responsive theme. Now I can tank Magento.

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
Easy enough.
Is there a good reason that the ez pages were omitted from the normal display mode? Or was it just a matter of code constrictions.? It seems such an easy fix that it makes me wonder why it wasn't coded like that from the get-go.
-
Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
By default all the side-boxes are hidden on mobile devices and the off-canvas mobile menu is displayed.

Ah.
So your fix wont work because ez pages wont be displayed on the off canvas mobile menu unless ez pages is checked for Header.

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
Hi anne and all,
I have installed this fantastic new version and want to thank you all it is great, just what I wanted.
have looked through the language plugins and installed five langauges, I have modified the language PHP for each one and everything works fine.
I would now like to customize the main page (define main page php) to have several boxes that can be controled by remote css in the css files, this way I can change the look for all langauges from one file, I have tried using div html to create the boxes but this throughs the whole page out, I have tried a table format but this is not controlable but does not alter the page https://www.brocante-de-france.com/
I have tried anne's "home page hover" this looks great but forces all the side bars down the page below the "main page", even when I alter the width to 500px in the css
Does any one have any ideas on how I can create five or six small floating boxes in the area covered by the define main page php that are controled by css for size and colour and be easy to fill with text from admin pages editor for all langauges?
perhaps itis not possible
I tried the following from http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_layout.asp
HTML Code:
<div id="header">
<h1>City Gallery</h1>
</div>
<div id="nav">
London<br>
Paris<br>
Tokyo
</div>
<div id="section">
<h1>London</h1>
<p>London is the capital city of England. It is the most populous city in the United Kingdom,
with a metropolitan area of over 13 million inhabitants.</p>
<p>Standing on the River Thames, London has been a major settlement for two millennia,
its history going back to its founding by the Romans, who named it Londinium.</p>
</div>
<div id="footer">
Copyright W3Schools.com
</div>
as it easy for me to change the text and control sizes alignment from css
but it destroyed the layout
All comments greatly appreciated
Regards paul
ps once I am sure that the langauges work properly I will submit them as plugins for v155

Yes it does work, this allows the ez-pages side-box to appear on mobile devices. Has nothing to do with the ez-pages header bar or off-canvas menu settings.

I would now like to customize the main page (define main page php) to have several boxes that can be controled by remote css in the css files, this way I can change the look for all langauges from one file, I have tried using div html to create the boxes but this throughs the whole page out, I have tried a table format but this is not controlable but does not alter the page
https://www.brocante-de-france.com/
I have tried anne's "home page hover" this looks great but forces all the side bars down the page below the "main page", even when I alter the width to 500px in the css
Does any one have any ideas on how I can create five or six small floating boxes in the area covered by the define main page php that are controled by css for size and colour and be easy to fill with text from admin pages editor for all langauges?
perhaps itis not possible
I tried the following from
http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_layout.asp
HTML Code:
<div id="header">
<h1>City Gallery</h1>
</div>
<div id="nav">
London<br>
Paris<br>
Tokyo
</div>
<div id="section">
</div>
<div id="footer">
Copyright W3Schools.com
</div>
as it easy for me to change the text and control sizes alignment from css
but it destroyed the layout
All comments greatly appreciated
Regards paul
ps once I am sure that the langauges work properly I will submit them as plugins for v155
Any additional HTML elements should display correctly without breaking the layout if and opening and closing tag are defined.
I can't access your site to see if their is something else causing an issue in the layout.

First, I would add a break to the main content area
in:
Code:
includes/templates/responsive_classic/common/tpl_main_page.php
add:
Code:
<br class="clearboth" />
inside the closing div for the center column
around line 183
Code:
<div id="bannerFour" class="banners"><?php echo zen_display_banner('static', $banner); ?></div>
<?php
}
}
?>
<br class="clearboth" /> <---- ADD
</div>
then in
Code:
includes/templates/responsive_classic/css/responsive_default.css
around line 96
and in
Code:
includes/templates/responsive_classic/css/responsive_mobile.css
around line 74
find:
Code:
/*bof checkout*/
#checkoutPayment .forward, #checkoutShipping .forward{float:none;width:100%;}
and comment out
Code:
/*bof checkout*/
/*#checkoutPayment .forward, #checkoutShipping .forward{float:none;width:100%;}*/

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
Not quite working that way. It seems to still be controlled around line 448 of the responsive mobile. In addition to your suggestions, removing the width and changing the float to right in the following helped
Code:
/*bof checkout*/
#checkoutPayment .forward, #checkoutShipping .forward{float:none;width:95%;}
to
Code:
/*bof checkout*/
#checkoutPayment .forward, #checkoutShipping .forward{float:right;}
then it is still controlled by the width in
Code:
fieldset input[type=date], fieldset textarea, fieldset div, fieldset .inputLabel{width:90% !important;margin:0 0 0 20px !important;padding:0;}

Hi Rbarbour, Thank you for you reply, First the site address is https://www.brocante-de-france.com/i...ex&language=en
At the moment I have used a table to create the layout seen directly in the admin/define pages/main_page_php as below
<table style="width:100%">
<tr>
<td><h1>Brocante de France</h1>
<p>Our aim is to offer you a fabulous range of products to help you create the home of your dreams,
from hand tools for the DIY work, to antique and hand crafted lighting.</p>
<p>Our range of products are both domestic and proffessional quality, manufactured in europe, and known world wide
for their quality. Use coupon code<strong>welcome</strong> to receive a 10% discount off your first purchase.</p></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td><h1>Kitchen</h1>
<p>kitchen utensils, pots and pans, and cooking accessories from major europeen manufacturers,
for the home, outdoor and camping</p<></td>
<td><h1>Knives</h1>
<p>Knives for cooking, eating, gardening and outdoor activities, all selected for
their robustness and practicalities</p></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td><h1>home decoration</h1>
<p>A superb selection of designer fabrics to decorate your home,
and a range of hand made lampshades made from modern and antique fabrics</p></td>
<td><h1>Hand tools</h1>
<p>For the discerning home craftsman and builder, a range of high qaulity tools,
for woodworking,engerneering, plumbing and electrical instalation
</p></td>

<tr>
<td><h1>Brocante</h1>
<p>Here is our passion, the search for both antique and vintage treasures for creating that detailed
finish, modern products cannot provide. Antique and vintage lighting, ornaments, paintings and fabrics from
the victorians to the roaring seventies.
</p></td>
</tr>
</table>
But this is not controlable with css, I would prefer to use the following;
<div id="divone">
<h1>Brocante de France</h1>
<p>Our aim is to offer you a fabulous range of products to help you create the home of your dreams,
from hand tools for the DIY work, to antique and hand crafted lighting.</p>
<p>Our range of products are both domestic and proffessional quality,</p>
</div>
<div id="divtwo">
<h1>Kitchen</h1>
<p>kitchen utensils, pots and pans, and cooking accessories</p<>
</div>
<div id="divthree">

<div id="divfour">
<h1>Home decoration</h1>
<p>fabrics and hand made lampshades,</p>
<div id="divfive">
<h1>Hand tools</h1>
<p>hand tools for the DIY work</p>
<div id="divsix">
<h1>Brocante</h1>
<p>a selection of antique and vintage accessories to finish you home.</p>
</div>
with the following css style written to the css stylesheet
<style>
#divone {background-color:#cc00cc;color:#ffffff;text-align:center;padding:5px;}
#section1 {background-color:#cc00cc;height:300px;width:350px;float:left;padding:5px;}
#section2 {height:300px;width:350px;float:right;padding:5px;}

#section1 {background-color:#cc00cc;height:300px;width:350px;float:right;padding:5px;}
#footer {background-color:black;color:white;clear:both;text-align:center;padding:5px;}
</style>
but this is when it all goes wrong
Hope this helps you to find out where i am going wrong
fantastic work from all of you

Thanks RB, when you looked last the layout was with a table, now it is set out with the "div" style and css styling, which is my aim, allowing me to control each of the six divs with css for color font and background and size, but the lay out is lik this:https://www.brocante-de-france.com/i...ex&language=en
I want to add a screen shot but i dont know how!
Can I send you a private message with the html code that i am using?

With define pages you do not need to add body tags
you should move your css to index_home.css

Wentr back and reviewed the changes suggested in post above. It did not work until we removed the width:85% !important call around Line 212 for the fieldset.
Of course, that would munge the ENTIRE world.

ok, here goes
in:
Code:
includes/templates/responsive_classic/css/responsive_mobile.css
after line 77 ADD
Code:
/*ZCA*/
#checkoutShipping fieldset .important.forward { float: right; width:20%!important; }
/*ZCA*/
before the ORIENTATION:LANDSCAPE & ORIENTATION:PORTRAIT closing bracket
ADD
Code:
/*ZCA*/
.totalBox { float:right; width:15%!important; }
.lineTitle { float:right; width:55%!important; }
/*ZCA*/
this is the easiest way without changing padding and margins which will mess something else up I'm sure.

Hi pixelpadre
Did you manage to resolve this issue? I am seeing the same problem here - I do not want the ezpages added as header on the desktop site - but I am not seeing any links in the offcanvas menu.
Seems to me that the linksList variable needs to be populated from the EZpages sidebox setting rather than the Header setting - but the coding to make that work is a little beyond me!
In \includes\templates\your_responsive\templates\tpl_modules_mobile_menu.tpl
I tried changing include(DIR_WS_MODULES . zen_get_module_directory('ezpages_bar_header.php'));
to include(DIR_WS_MODULES . zen_get_module_directory('ezpages.php'));
Which is what populates the sidebox - but that uses the footer settings now as I guess that is the first file match it finds in the modules directory.
How do I include a sidebox php file? Or otherwise get the list of sidebox enabled EZpages?
-
Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
Update on the Mobile EZpages menu list.
I seem to have this working for me now.
I ended up copying the database query and link creation code from
\includes\modules\sideboxes\ezpages.php
into
\includes\templates\your_responsive\templates\tpl_modules_mobile_menu.tpl
in place of the line
(DIR_WS_MODULES . zen_get_module_directory('ezpages_bar_header.php'));
This now displays links in the off canvas menu EZpages section for links that have been enabled for sidebox display.
Probably not the ideal way to achieve this - but it's working for me :)
Happy to be advised of a better way to achieve this.

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
My Work around was making sure you have a sort order number in the Header of the ezpages for each page (make sure you turn it ON) ...
Make sure in admin panel/ layout settings/ Categories-Tabs Menu ON/OFF/ set to 0
includes/ templates/ responsive_classic/ css/ responsive_default.css/ line 52 add/ div#ezpages {}

Hmm - Does that not still display the ezpages links in your desktop header though?
I do not want that.

Hi all,
I've asked my freelancer (via UpWork) to update my site to 155a and to update my site to the "out of the box" responsive template. He advised there were "major issues". Is this correct or is he making this up?
Also does anyone want to share there zencart sites so that I can see what the live site looks like with the new template.
Cheers

I've often said that a person can have a doctor's degree in keyboard and not know a thing about the mouse.
Your freelancer may know a lot about the keyboard (PHP) and just be able to wave the mouse (CSS) around a little.
Anne and Ray have done wonders for the Zen Cart community in the template area. Are there a few hiccups in the stylesheets? Yes, after all, pobody's nerfect:P
We are currently working on the stylesheets for 155a in an effort to make them easier for your freelancer (and anyone for that matter) to change colors. The reason for this is not that the stylesheets are wrong but that they are organized in a way that adds a degree of difficulty above and beyond the beginner/intermediate CSS knowledge.
There are minor mistakes like #mainWrapper and #contentMainWrapper both appearing twice in the call on line 18 of the stylesheet_colors.css but that shouldn't slow down an "expert." There are some colors defined that, just simply, don't show up in the cart. That really isn't a big deal. Neither is the fact that colors for the site are also defined in five other stylesheets. A qualified person could easily see them with the tools most of us use.
Your freelancer may be trying to steer you in a direction he or she is more familiar with and avoid having to learn something new or work out the kinks. We agree that changing a font color and having it change one link, another's hover, and another's heading font can be daunting. (see line 3 of stylesheets_colors.css) That's why we have been looking at changing the way folks can manage the colors.
As we see it, anyone with an intermediate knowledge of CSS should be able to get the job done with the existing stylesheets. Our goal in "rearranging" the stylesheets is to make it very simple for any store owner to manipulate the colors of their site. We did something similar for the classic template back in the stone age.:P
We visualize that there are basically nine colors involved in most sites. If we use one for warnings, hover/visited, form backgrounds, drop-down backgrounds we have used four colors. Add to that the use of white and black where needed for fonts and there are only three colors left.
As an example, we use three blues for one site. #6699CC (Blue Danube), #99CCFF (Anakiwa Blue), and #CAE5FF (Onahau) are really just baby blue, light blue and an even lighter blue. We use the medium as the main background, the darker for nav bars/headings, and the lighter in the presentation of products.
The result is that you can rapidly change colors with just a search and replace.
We're also adding rgba calls which allow the user to adjust the color's opacity in the stylesheet.
And, while we're at it, we're trying to fix any stray css errors and address the warnings.
Can be seen at aaawesometoyDOTcom/test_155a We will be using it with the #mainWrapper turned off.
haredoDOTcom is a working example of what we've done.
-
Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
@dbltoe, the haredo site looks amazing! I had to look "under the covers" to believe that that was responsive-classic.
The aaawesometoy site's url, however, must have been misspelled; it goes to Google's search page.

Probably the result of a quivering hand from this old programmer.
Should be aawesometoyDOTcom/test_155a. We turned off the #mainWrapper to add more contrast and make the products stand out on the pages.
Haredo and I took four days going through the his site page by page, scenario by scenario. We still see things every time we look. Latest fun was what MagicThumb did to the column grid layout.
netzencommerceDOTcom is a work in progress using the demos and having everything turned on. Not quite through with it and not quite sure how things are showing up in the slideouts without being turned on (or is it un-turned off?) in the stylesheets. This site was a clean install then we dropped in our revamped stylesheets. Changing it to another color theme is a matter of searching for a color and replacing it with the new. This can be done with as little as three colors.
We found colorcombos.com and are using it for our color theme generation. We have some themes listed in the combos menu under latest. You'll have to look for the by dbltoe tag.
Discovered csslint.net in the process and that has been a very humbling experience. Says right on the site that they "will hurt your feelings." They do have an excellent wiki in github. https://github.com/CSSLint/csslint/wiki/Rules

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
Hello,
I am trying out 1.5.5 on a test site before I try upgrading my real one. I pretty much just installed zencart to a different domain , copied a backup of my main site to that domain ( I used a new database so I wouldn't screw anything up. ) Once I made made sure everything was working , i upgraded to 1.5.5 from 1.5.4. I noticed right away how much more mobile friendly responsive_classic is.
But now i have a problem , almost all of my modules no longer work. Credit card accepts and verified PayPal logo do not sure up in layout box manager unless i set the template to just plain old classic. Am i missing something ? or do these no longer work because of their age ?

Most shipping and payment modules will need to be reinstalled on upgrade. Be sure to copy as many settings as you can before reinstalling.

Thanks for the heads-up.
Put in my 154 custom stylesheet and it found only one error (color:#magenta; sic) but 557 warnings. WOW.
I have yet to bother with 155 responsive classic though.

template_default
stylesheet.css
CSS lint found 0 errors and 201 warnings
The majority are for the use of "ID Selectors" maybe I'm stuck in an era that just doesn't get the "needs" or "complaints" of today's Zen Cart Community.

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
I'm trying to configure the Responsive Classic template to have only a left sidebox. I've got the layout settings set to
- Globally disable the right sidebox
- Set the left sidebox width to 175px
When I display a page, the following widths are shown using FireBug:
- #contentMainWrapper ... 1427
- .col175 ....................... 158 + 6 (margin)
- .col795 ....................... 7 (margin) + 1121
That's a total of 1292 being consumed by the content -- where did the other 135 pixels "go". I see an unwanted line of background color on the righthand side of the display.
-
Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
It gets weirder. On the less-populated pages, I'm seeing my .col795 section's width is 653.

The majority are for the use of "ID Selectors" maybe I'm stuck in an era that just doesn't get the "needs" or "complaints" of today's Zen Cart Community.
In this case, I couldn't disagree more. Us "old" guys may have to make a few more stops on the road trip than we did in our youth but, we get there just as well. What's interesting is the ID Selectors are suggested by the inspector in Chrome.:wacko:
I hope that I'm keeping my mind active by constantly challenging my thinking. The community owes you and Anne a great deal of respect. :clap: There is always going to be those people who won't fish for themselves and the "what have you done for me lately" crowd. If they p|&& you off one day and not the next, then it's you that decides to be that way. I think you can just keep thinkin'; "No Thanks, I'd Rather Be Happy!" I know we're happy to have you.

Working on a method to initially perform a quick color change with the responsive_classic template. zip currently available at our test site of netzencommerceDOTcom. First category on the left. Remember, this is a work in progress. :artist:

- #contentMainWrapper ... 1427
- .col175 ....................... 158 + 6 (margin)
- .col795 ....................... 7 (margin) + 1121
That's a total of 1292 being consumed by the content -- where did the other 135 pixels "go". I see an unwanted line of background color on the righthand side of the display.

I'm not spending to much time explaining because frankly It's getting old (no offense) Cindy.
This was changed in 2.0 of the DIY Package
Code:
2.) 2.0 adds 98 new (px & %) column calculations.
3.) 2.0 adds side column width flexibility in (10px increments).
4.) 2.0 allows ADMIN controlled side column widths using the existing ZC stock Column Width - Left and Column Width - Right configurations
Adding a width of 175 is creating col175 which doesn't exist because it's not an increment of 10
Change your 175 to 170 or 180.

It turns out that the site's previous setting (Left Sidebox Width = 175px) confused the heck out of the responsive handling since the .col175 didn't have any styling within the responsive.css file.
Changing the site's settings to 150px for that sidebox width made everything "happy".
That leads to the question: Are the built-in column widths documented anywhere (besides inspecting the responsive.css file)?

setting up a test to look at it now. Are you moving all boxes to the left or only a select few?

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
Right now working on what the contentMainWrapper does with various screen sizes. The call .onerow-fluid is apparently the controller but a battle is going on between the stylesheet.css, responsive.css and responsive_default.css.
With a 768-1500 screen size, the stylesheet.css sets padding to 0, the responsive.css sets margin to auto !important, and the responsive_default.css sets the width at 100% !important.
With a screen size over 1500, the stylesheet.css set padding to 0, the responsive.css sets margin to auto!important, and the responsive_default.css has no width listing. When the customer's screen goes over 1500, it displays "dead space" on the left and right of the screen.
Adding
PHP Code:
.onerow-fluid {width:100% !important;}
to the min-width: 1500px call around line 411 of the responsive_default.css. Otherwise the .onerow-fluid around line 57 in the stylesheet.css overrides the width to 75%.
Just wanted to confirm that this didn't munge something elsewhere.
THANX

Re: Responsive Classic (built in to Zen Cart v1.5.5) [Support Thread]
When I switch to the 'out of the box' version of this template, it doesn't center properly.
It is as though the whole center wrapper (impacted by .onerow-fluid) is set up as float:left inside its container rather than margin:0 auto.
Is that normal? If so...why?
(local install so no link to site possible)
Edit: Upon further investigation it appears to be because .col670 has an attribute of width:68.2594% when ideally it should be 100%
Or is it set at 68% for a reason.
