trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
www.fantasiesrealm.com/market/
version: 1.5.8a
PHP 8
barebones nothing but store files.
since I have to go to the newer version I decided to save all my 1.3.9h files to external then install the cart software totally especially since most my add-ons probably won't work anymore, yet...LOL
I tried to upload the latest greatest 2.0.1, but it just wouldn't install. so I decided to try 1.5.8a files, joy-- it installed after 3 days of trying, reuploading files again and again. only as the title says the main store link is seen by both admin (btw the admin link shows up correctly in the browser but shows main store pages NOT admin.
Should I just make myself more confused by replacing store files with 2.0.1 or attempt to fix this one then attempt the upgrade later.

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
You might as well delete that and try 2.0.1 again. Make sure your ftp client is uploading images as binary and php, css, htm, txt etc as text. Then if you get an error on zc_install again, tell us what that error is.

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
I was afraid you would say that but it does make sense. will do so and ater I pick up my brain from the floor I will report back. Thanks

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
What is this file: /home/fantasies/public_html/market/XXX/includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/._lang.ckeditor.php
The distribution contains a file named lang.ckeditor.php, but not one with a leading ._

Sorry hun, since he wanted me to install 2.0.1 I deleted all the files in the server and uploaded the fresh 2.0.1 files and that one is not in there anymore.
I use FileZilla Client for uploading and managing any uploads and the bad thing is I used to be able to upload a folder at a time with no dot files going up there but with the newer versions (there was a dif 15 yrs ago) I have no clue how to get it to NOT upload dot files.
Now I have reinstalled twice since this post the version 2.0.1 by uploading clean fresh files and t goes thru all the way to the page where you go to admin area or store and now I get that dang white page of nothingness.
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
The "white page of nothingness" (which I'll steal, BTW) implies that there are one or more myDEBUG*.log files present in the site's /logs directory patiently waiting to let you know what the underlying issue is.
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
will check them soon and let you know.
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
OK, this is what the last 4 or 5 logs say....note that now I am even more confused since it is August 3rd here in Kansas but it claims on one of them August 4...LOL
I forgot to ay the PHP version it is set to is 8.3, I have tried with 8.0 thru the now 8.3 and still nothing...LOL

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
If you dont have any debug logs newer than theinstall logs, look for and post an error.log from the market directory or from public_html/

ok I found some in the cache folder [brain is fried from installing and reinstalling and am nearly certifiable now.] I think that is right and it claimed some folders were missing from includes>laravel folder so I put them in and now am seeing the same as last time....both store link and admin link are the exact same. So will need to see what else is missing....after checking this last error file for just now. So all for now and thanks for the shove in the right place to peek into.
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
ok, still looking but I can't figure out how to make the logs to have the correct date...this is showing the error for 3pm today Aug 5 but right now I am sitting here and it is 11:04 am CST
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
hmmm, my post disappeared. those error logs show date correct but not the time, they claim to have been done at 3pm today the 5th but it is 11:14 CST right now? How's that for adding to my confusion?
This is the message that finally came up when trying to access admin area...I can at least now get the store to load but that is all:
(none) 172.103.65.146 /XXX/ fantasiesrealm.com Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:128.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/128.0 404
I have tried this with Chrome, Waterfox, Safari and SeaMonkey just to try it since it seems to be obstinate right now yet they all have the same message.

There's a timestamp difference between dates/times recorded in the myDEBUG*.log files and the actual files' timestamps, similarly with the site's raw-access logs which you've posted.
The timestamp in the raw-access logs (and the files' timestamps) will be the server's time. So, if you're in Los Angeles but your site's hosted on a server in Texas, the server's time will be Central time while the date/time recorded in a myDEBUG*.log file will depend on whether you've updated /includes/extra_configures/set_time_zone.php to identify
Code:
$TZ = 'America/Los_Angeles'; // eg: 'Europe/Oslo'

Thanks will see that is taken care of soon, as for accessing admin area I just tried it again and HALLELUJIA...I have the login page---it has let me in to the admin area to add info so if all goes well it now works. Will let you know, now fingers crossed....

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
taken care of...and since brain is gone, I installed this software fresh, nothing from old market DB so to re-add my customers/ their paypal info and products, will I need to do them manually or can I just upload the old db to the new one?
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
Now that I have my admin bookmarked it is easy to get there however---if I just click the "home" link in admin it takes me to the storefront not page 1 of admin, where do I fix that at?

Are you able to navigate to other admin pages? Are you using a URL manager (like Ceon URI Mappings or Universal SEO URLs)?
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
For your database, you delete the database you just created, import the old database, reupload the ZC_install folder, rerun the zc_install so it can update your old database, and delete the zc_install directory again.

Yes I clicked all the links in the menu and below, everything loads like it should but not the ones that show you the way to admin.
I will try the suggestion from gothstone and hope it behaves and also will then behave with the links.

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
I forgot to mention to you lat9, I do not have any mods installed this is a totally new files with only what comes with 2.0.1 .
I don't even have any old files nor anything in the download folder but will try removing the database, reinstalling the old 1.3.9h one then re-running zc_install. But that needs to wait for the day to start freshening up.

I uploaded the install folder, removed the tables from my 2.0.1 DB, uploaded 1.3.9h database. got the upgrade won't go further than the page listing the updates it needs after the first and won't go further

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
alright, I tried admin, which is still not linking right. I am perplexed, oh this is after the not going past the first upgrade listed should I just install all the different upgrades between 1.3.9h and 2.0.1 cause I asked to upgrade and it emptied the tables and left things blank with no customers and stuff
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
There's something going on with your database, as I recently upgraded a site from 1.3.9h directly to 2.0.1 without issue.
You could post the zcInstall*.log files that are present in the site's /logs directory from that last attempt. Be sure to post those files' contents within "CODE" tags, using the big # present in the menu-bar as you're writing your response.

did as instructed but the darn thing will only do a clean install. I am wondering IF I will need to install all or at least the first and last 1.5+ then run 2.0.1
I've tried this several times and each time it clears out the customer info and everything leaving me with no settings in admin...and still will not add the admin/index.php to the admin ink

It kind of feels like one (or both) of the configure.php files aren't pointing to the right places, either file-system or web-address.

ok, then I will remove the configure files from store and admin in the includes folders. Then I will totally remove the database again.
This is what the configure in admin and the one from store includes says:

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
If you totally remove those configure.php files, the only choice zc_install will give you is a new install.
From the portions you posted above, the site being installed is https://fantasiesrealm(dot)com/market. I'll suggest
1. Put those configure.php files back in their respective directories.
2. Restore the site's database to its existing content
3. Verify that both the storefront and admin configure.php files "point to" that database.
4. Run https://fantasiesrealm(dot)com/market/zc_install
If you still get only the "Fresh install" option, look further down in the messages displayed by zc_install. If both configure.php files exist but have some type of invalid information, the reason for the no-upgrade path will be contained in those messages.
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
really dumb question here...I tried to do the upgrade, yes I got the upgrade or clean stall buttons. It told me that I had to have and upgrade to 1.5.0 to continue and it selected all the upgrades needed.
It says it installed but it says the update for 1.5.01 was done but about 15 minutes later it claims to have finished, does the progress bar not move right along and it is still upgrading or is it dead?
WELLL, Ima gonna try again, starting with the database. When I did it all these times I removed the tables, then uploaded the old one from 1.3.9h. Maybe I was supposed to just empty them.
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
Depending on the size of the database, especially the number of product, orders and customer entries, the progress bar can be very deceiving.
There were a couple of times I almost gave up and then the zc_install continued on to completion.

Whew, then I need to go back and do it again. This time I will be more patient. I figured maybe I had not quite followed the instructions right. It is a fairly large DB since it has been operating for 17 yrs. Thanks for your patience.

well, after 1 hour it went no further than and the DB doesn't show 1.5.1 as being done either. If I have to I will just do the installs all from the beginning (updates that is)
this is also the latest log:

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
alright, I have been at this all day, it is now 8:30 pm, I finally installed 1.5.8c and it finally took. Then I uploaded the 2.0.1 files and the DB updated....the links for admin are still not right and direct me to the store page.
I also see in the DB that the version is 2.0 not 2.0.1
All else seems to be fine except doing it this way I have no previous information...it would not work at all doing it like I was told to do. The config file for admin doesn't seem to update with the correct info, I added this to the file hoping that it would see it:
Code:
/**
* NOTE about DIR_FS_ADMIN
* The value for DIR_FS_ADMIN is now auto-detected.
* In the very rare case where there is a need to override the autodetection, simply add your own definition for it below.
*/
define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', '/home/fxxx/public_html/market/admin/');
I even tried adding it like this
Code:
/**
* NOTE about DIR_FS_ADMIN
* The value for DIR_FS_ADMIN is now auto-detected.
* In the very rare case where there is a need to override the autodetection, simply add your own definition for it below.
*/
define('DIR_FS_ADMIN', '/home/fxxx/public_html/market/admin/index.php');
I will wait until tomorrow to try removing all files and installing 2.0.1>drop the info from the DB tables and reinstalling the 1.3.9h files and see if that makes a difference
I will try to come in here first to see if anyone has anymore ideas.
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
Current versions of Zen Cart no longer use the DIR_FS_ADMIN value, so that's not going to have a 'play' in the issue. I've got no additional ideas about the issues you're experiencing, but am still cogitating.

I have the bone and still chewing on it...I will leave the store alone for a while and install the ones I used for our free stuff and the sponsors area which are not with uploads, just what the contest winners can choose from for their prizes. No info stored, no need to log in, just a showcase with items showing the products offered.
So that should behave. I need to step away from the actual store install since it has been raining and with the amount of thunder/lightning we had it kept popping my electric off/on so comp got undone several times. so for sure nothing is right today. I need to try it again.
I also see wwhat you mean about the upgrades, when the store finally installed with 1.5.8c then I tried 2.0.1 it just flew thru the updates faster than superman.

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
You will not see a database level change unless the second place in the version changes. If you strarted with 2.0 and upgraded to 2.0.1, then 2.0.2 (does not exist), you would still show 2.0 as the database version. When you uprgrade to the upcoming 2.1, the database will need to be updated and will show 2.1.0 afterwards.
WAG If both your configure files are correct, you may have a funky redirect in your .htaccess files. Look in them to see if the term 301 is in either of them.

When I started this mess of mine, I had one .htaccess file in the main directory, and in the market folder but I don't seem to have the second one anymore

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
Well still alive barely. since the store was ancient and heavily modded it put up a fight but I still sorta won. I ended up installing the 1.5 files with my existing DB, then exchanging all files needed to remove so 1.5.7c could be installed and then rinse/repeat once more to get the 2.0.1 upgrade done. I now have a working store even if the DB is empty.
No matter what I did it would hang on the 2.0.1 upgrade and not finish. Now I will insert the info from the old db to the corresponding table and hope it works as it should.
Thanks everyone for your help.

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
I noticed that when in admin, there is now an image of the product in the description...how do you set the image size, rather where is the place to set the size, right now it is the same size as the product page image.
Never mind I accidently found it... the shopping cart image *shakes head back and forth*
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
Its me again!
I am trying to reassociate my images with their products but I get this with some. I then need to copy/paste the text to a doc with the price and then delete the item from the store before it will accept the image and behave.
Is it something that this verison of ckeditor is quirky on. It is the updater that you have for download here on site.
what should I do? Or maybe renameing the image??

There's going to be a myDEBUG-adm-*.log file present in the site's /logs directory that identifies the details of that server 500 error.

The highlighted constant doesn't exist in the as-shipped Zen Cart distribution; I'll suggest reviewing the additions that you have made to your admin file-set.

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
I removed the text for (no image for) but that was text no images from server
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
another idiotic question...when uploading an image for the existing productss that for some reason are in their proper place -- for instance: market/images/promos/vendors name/name of jpg--- it seems to add the image but it plops it into the main images directory no using the one on the server in its proper area.
We used to have an area at the bottom of the page that showed an area to choose the location for the image (images/promos/) then we would enter the vendors directory and the name then click preview. There is no way to tell it to go to the promos/vendor/image.
Is my store screwed up still and I need to reinstall it....EEEEEK.

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that you've successfully borked your upgrade.
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
wonderful, then I need to redo the install from the beginning with a total new upload. well that will be for tomorrow, I hope it works, maybe by using the db for 1.3.9h to upgrade to 1.5 then further it will behave.
thanks....now to remove the files/leaving my promos and downloads folder as is.

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
I'm gonna go out on a limb here. I have no idea what priority you have on this project, or how much revenue is at stake. I can see you have had a lot of trouble and frustration. People on this forum will absolutely help, but replies back and forth will be slow, and lacking access, we won't always see the gotcha issue.
There are people who deal with these upgrades for a fee, and lat9 who has been helping you is the one ofthem i would first recomend if she has time for another client right now. If not, there are several others. Not saying you can't do it, but if your tired of it, there are options.
My personal guess is that your old db has various corruption that will need fixed before upgrading. Might try the audit plugin on the old site as it can find some of it.

I wouldn't mind but then I---like with the older version---need to learn the "new atuff" to keep maintaining it. That and always broke is why I try and try and eventually win. BUT will keep that in mind for if my head actually implodes...LOL

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
Not only are responses slow, store owners often try several Bandaids while waiting on an answer.
Installation/Upgrade is a whole different ballgame than maintenance/additions.
IMHO, you are skipping/missing some steps/notifications along the way to a site ready to be maintained.
Bandaids applied during installation/upgrade generally result in festering sores somewhere down the line.
Get some help to create the foundation your operation needs.

I'm certain that something did not get done right which is why I was going to try upgrading from 1.3.9h however, I got no upgrades done because it told me that my old database is not allowed anymore by myPHPadmin area since it is for 7.4PHP and they do not allow cURL to be installed within the structure anymore--PHP server put it on the cloud. I then just did the upgrades for the 1.5 to 2.0.1 and see the pages like they should be. I need to get with PayPal and see how to install their new payment methods. I find I will need to insert the information manually into the table from the old DB or the product/merchant/promos into the store by hand from admin.
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
Now we are getting somwhere! Zencart still requires curl! You need a new host. But you can drag over the old DB, and the upgrade will probably go better on a server with the proper requirements.
https://docs.zen-cart.com/user/first...#mysql-version
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
well ai shall get hold of the host and let them know that I need cURL to be installed and then see if it behaves, yes it let me install v2.0.1 but it did say that about cURL. This host has been very helpful, more so than any of the others we've had. maybe he will know how to get it and I also don't really mind taking all off the server once more then reinstalling it again to screenshot everything it says is not right.
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
ok, this is what the host just sent me. He worked on it and tomorrow I will remove all, then install first trying with my DB then recording any errors it may spit out. Then try again with only the empty DB.
He said to share this link with you:
Code:
https://fantasiesrealm.com/market/phpCZinfo.php
He said this also:
Curl is enabled and has OpenSSL/1.1.1k (you can search that in the PHPinfo page above).
As for this:
Apache modules
The Apache configuration must have AllowOverride set to All or at least Limit Indexes Options. (Without this the .htaccess rules will fail and trigger 500 Server Error errors.)
Recommended Apache modules include: expires, headers, env, alias, deflate, ssl, http2, mime, phpX, rewrite (in addition to other standard/default modules for a typical webserver serving PHP applications).
In Apache I see these aren’t currently enabled:
Mod_env (available but not installed)
Mod_vhost_alias (available but not installed)
phpX (don’t see this as an option at the moment and don’t see much on google – Maybe they’re just referring to “PHP version x” meaning PHP itself must be enabled?)
Can you ask if these are a requirement?
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
Your config we can see looks pretty sane.
Apache Modules: No, they aren't required, but they are recomended.
Env - just get your host to turn it on, it should be considered a requirement
Vhost-alias - id mod_alias is in you dont necessarily need vhost_alias. Depends on servers config. You do need at least one.
Phpx - this is already installed. Looks like they are using php-fpm which is fine.
Note: with php 8.3 and mysql 8.3 you must install zencart 2 or higher. The zc_install for 1.5.8 should have failed in php 8.3.
After your host verifies apache config, since they are so helpfull, ask them to download zc 2.0.1 directly to the server and unzip it to an empty directory for you. That will eliminate any file upload issues for you. You can then run zcinstall and get a clean blank store. If that has an issue, send up any on screen errors and logs. If it works your setup is definately valid and you can load a copy of your old DB, reupload zcinstall folder, and try it as a database upgrade. Again, send any errors you encounter.
The only zcinstall error you can ignore is the gzip disabled as its frequently wrong. Anything else should be reported.

ok, I removed everything last night since I couldn't sleep with this flu, and after I installed it, I went and yes they all failed with 8.3 so I installed 2.0.1
there were no error messages. I did just that, took down everything, uploaded the zip -- it is so much faster and easier to get the files up there...LOL Ran the installer, no errors, emptied not dropped the tables and inserted the sql database throough the "insert" tab. Again no errors and the only thing I noticed is that my own admin was replaced with the one on the DB inserted.
I then used the zc_installer again to do the upgrade -- no issues except that when it came time to enter the superuser name it would not let me -- it said the one entry was not there and yup. it was gone. I see that it actually didn't replace the info but the entire tables. I can't remember the name, maybe admin profile sooo Iemptied them again ran the installer and got ready but even after that it still would not let me continue, stating the superuser name was not valid. Used the instructions to inter the Admin user info and it still won't behave.
I thought today I would reinstall the software fresh, using the old DB at the beginning but I am afraid that will just make it a clean install where I will need to go through the other way again.
Do you know if there are other additional info lines with the other tables? Since the old DB seems to replace not just insert the information I should just insert thru the actual table sql area not thru the insert area.
Sorry if I confused you, that is my specialty, but I don't really want to bother my host with things right now, he/wife had a death in the family and dealing with that.

Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
It might just be your description, but the way you describe replacing the database is weird. You shouldn't be just putting in data or laying one on top the other. You should:
1. Drop or delete the existing 2.0.1 database.
2. Create a new database of the same name.
3. Restore a backup of the old 1.3.9 database.
4. If you don't know the old admin user/pass just create a new one following this doc: https://docs.zen-cart.com/user/troub...t%20'admin'.
5. Run zc_install selecting upgrade, not clean install
There should be no need to touch the fileset at all (beyond zc_install), you should currently have a clean 2.0.1 file set. You just need to correctly restore the old database and upgrade it with zc_install.
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
ok, I have tried and tried after installation by selecting all tables and either using the menu at the bottom of the tables....drop and delete. The few times I got a clean install and upgrade I did the upgrade button. That is when I get the entire list of everything to upgrade from 1.5 to the end, every time it does the first upgrade and hangs forever on the rest. It will not do the entire upgrade.
I also at times get the message that I need the pass for the admin to install and have tried both the 1.3.9h password and when told there was a problem I tried the pass given to the 2.0.1 install and it still says it is not right. When I then try to use the instructions to do that temp admin code I find that it is missing a line in the old base, so I even tried deleting the new admin info I just did, adding the line then reading the admin info and it still says it is not right. Telling me that it needs a super user name/info but with the line missing from the table and it not accepting the info anyway I figured it was too old to use.
That is why I figured since I have only been able to get the store with a normal install that I would do it then manually renter the vendor info and the product info and reinstall the mods (not in the order I wrote) like CKEditor, ceon, image handler and another I can't think of...then have a good cry since it doesn't wish to let me use the info on the old DB.
I really appreciate all the help I am getting.
-
Re: trouble with paradise--admin/market dame link
I have tried repeatedly to do what you said to do and no matter what it finally dawned on me I am not doing it wrong...sort of, when it comes time to upgrade it will claim to do so but I see that what I thought it read was not it at all. It said it tried, not did it, to upgrade from 1.3.9h to 1.5.1 however it first needed to do 1.5. That is my problem to do it I need to change the PHP version--no problemo, hah--I did and the store is not agreeing. it is too old and the zip for it won't work so I did a clean install then my 2.0.1 again and will just treat the store as a first-time store. I will look at my info and then re-enter all the info by hand in admin like it never existed.
I suppose it is a new store so it shouldn't kill me just am happy I type rather fast.
Another question, in previous versions, I was able to edit the files by adding the ~ to the original file and then editing the info inside of the other one. Can you still do that with this version?
