Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
If you have multiple shipping zones and you are not using this module, you cannot set table rate for more than one zone because the current built in table rate module is limited to only one zone.
I have modified the built in table rate module so that I can set separate table rate for each zones. Enjoy!

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Hi,
I am quite new to ZenCart.
How do I configure so user can choose shipping method between East & West Malaysia?
I.e.
West Malaysia
- Pos Daftar
- Pos Laju
East Malaysia
- Pos Daftar
- Pos Laju
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
1) Go to Locations / Taxes > Zones and add all the states in Malaysia.
2) Go to Locations / Taxes > Zone Definitions and click on Insert button.
3) First, key in West Malaysia in the Zone Name field and click on the insert button.
4) After that, with West Malaysia is selected, click on the details button.
5) Then, hit the Insert button to insert the new sub zone. Select Malaysia under the country and all the states you created earlier will appear in Zone drop down menu. Add the state one by one for West Malaysia.
6) Repeat steps 2) to 5) for East Malaysia.
7) Lastly use rates obtain Pos Daftar/Pos Laju and key into this Zones Table Rate.
FYI, you can use either Pos Daftar or Pos Laju in the Zones Table Rate, not both unless you know how to duplicate the Zones Table Rate into another shipping module with different name.

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
This version automatically generate the number of table rate
you can set based on the number of Zone Definitions you have created.
Also included in this version is the ability to display the name of zone
used to calculate the shipping cost in the front end of the shopping cart.

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Hi,
Thanks for the reply and tips. Appreciated it.
I've duplicated the module and langauge file and modify accordingly. Changed ALL constant from ZONETABLE to ZONETABLE_POS. E.g. from MODULE_SHIPPING_ZONETABLE_TEXT_TITLE to MODULE_SHIPPING_ZONETABLE_POS_TEXT_TITLE.
Whenever I click on "Continue Checkout", the page doesnt move to the next page, but instead staying back at the same page. What goes wrong here?
Please advise.
Cheers,
isaac.
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Does it works with the original module?
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
This is confusing things:
ZONETABLE to ZONETABLE_POS
Try ZONETABLEPOS and zonetablepos on your cloning ...
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Thanks for all the replies. My bad. I should have use the REPLACEALL function from the beginning. :D it is working now.
But surf7
even if I duplicated the modules, it will be:
fieldset 1
Pos Laju
- West Malaysia
fieldset 2
Regular Mail
- West Malaysia
Is there any posibilities of
fieldset
West Malaysia
- Pos Laju
- Regular Mail
Cheers,
isaac

I got the same trouble with zencart 1.3.7.
You must desintall the zonetable module after define your zones and reinstall it.

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Hi Surf7
Excellent module!!! Thanks
Thought I would just comment on a potential bug with your newer version that I came across. If you have 2 zones, and then install this module - everything works.
If you then add a third zone and go to configure it, the third area in your config now has no titles.
I uninstalled and reinstalled and it all came good again - (ignore the error message that comes up)
Very nice modules - thanks

Re: completely btches my shipping admin
I tried inserting the zonetable.php files per the directory structure and the result is that when I opened my shipping module in the admin area the entire admin section is corrupted.
There were no instructions with the zip file.
Is there some other step required that I missed ?
(running ver 1.3.7)

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Hi Gang!
This might be exactly the module I am after. PLease correct me if I am wrong. Here is the scenario:
1. The Store is located in USA but re-sells products directly from manufacturers - one located in Malaysia and one in the US. The big target is USA but also shipping worldwide )at least for the Malaysian manufacturer.
2. The Malaysian manufacturer is using DHL to ship worldwide. The USA-based is using FedEx and at least for now, it is only shipping to the USA.
3. The Malaysian manufacturer has products that currently need to be looked up manually in a DHL rate table based on rates. The USA based one has a fixed price per item.
Would this module be suitable for this?
Thanks a lot!
Gabstero

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
i am not sure about DHL table rate. But it can applies to most shipping companies.

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Hi Surf7!
Thanks for the response. I did install your mod without a problem. But now I am not sure how to actually use it... :-)
In fact to be even more confused - it seems like Zone Rates does the same thing as Zone Table Rates... I am not sure if I get the difference.
I was able, however to set up two different shipping table rates for two different countries in "Zone Rates"...
Thanks!

Gabstero,
The module that I created is using zones that you created in Locations / Taxes > Zones Definitions
But the bundled "Zone Rates" seems to handle countries only. So there is no way you can set different table rates for different states or region in a country.
For example, I wanted to have different table rate for East Malaysia, West Malaysia and International. All I need to do is go to Locations / Taxes > Zones Definitions and set up the zones. Then I will go to "Zones Table Rate" module key in my Shipping Zone 1, Zone 1 Shipping Table, Zone 1 Handling Fee and so on for up to 3 zones.

What i want is
1) Pos Laju (East Malaysia) - RM 8
2) Pos Laju (West Malaysia) - RM 6

do I really have to add all the other countries manually?
Hi,
I'm using the zone table rates. It's working beautifully for the first three zones which are Ontario, Canada & US. But the fourth zone is International. Do I really have to manually add each of the countries to this list for it to work?
Thanks Tracy

I've got this exact same problem. All Countries/All Zones doesn't work. Has anyone found a solution yet? I've done a quick search around, but all I see are Tracy's posts and not a single answer yet.

Yes... I afraid you have to manually add all the countries except your own country in the international zone.
You may want to use phpmyadmin to make the task easier. Search the forum, I remembered seeing someone did it before.

Re: do I really have to add all the other countries manually?
Help!! I installed this module and can't see to figure out where I went wrong?!? I need 8 zones....I set the zones up, the first one Canada, and the rest US1-8. I installed the module and put the table rates in...and can't get the "green light" to say it is configured. I went back into the zones and it said my zone tax wasn't configured....they are all configured now. all green lights are on but still no green light to say the module is working. All my tax amounts are 0. This should work...I know it must be something silly but I cant seem to figure it out.....Anyone??? I am soooo close!
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
On the Shipping Modules the color of the light is two fold ...
Green means good to go ...
Red means not installed ...
Yellow means either there is more to customize or that you have customized with filters such as zones and that the constraints show as yellow so you know that there are configuration limits to the module ... it does not necessarily mean something is wrong ...

Anyone else have this problem? Could anyone possibly post a .tar or some other archive format for me somewhere? I would very much appreciate it. Thanks!

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Is this the same shipping module that comes with Zencart that can be installed by clicking "Zone Rates" - install?
If so, can this module be duplicated to create another level of zone tables? Say that courier 1 has a shipping table with zones
Courier 2 also has a shipping table with zones.
I want to give the customer to the shop the option of choosing from courier 1 and courier 2's shipping rates.
Is that achivable by installing this module twice and then setting zones? if not, how is it achievable?

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Problem when table method is set to weight
Zencart version 1.37
Zone table rate Mod Version 1.1
my product weights are in grams
My problem is that it is not calculating correctly
I have it set the table method to weight i have the zone1 shipping tale set as
1500:4.95,10000:10.00,15000:15.00
now when i select a product with a weight of 1400 and go to the checkout it comes up with
Zones Table Rate (31 x 49.68lbs)
and the shipping charge shows as $153.45 instead of $10
If i set the table method to price it works fine for defined price ranges, but i would like it to work by weight
Any help would be greatly appreciated

"Enter the Maximum Package Weight you will ship" to a sensible amount, the default was 50, and as all my products were in grams Zencart was trying to divide my product up into a lo of 50gm packages, i have changed this to 50000gms (50kg) and the problem has gone

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Installed and configured successfully this very useful module.
I would like to remove in shipping estimator the displayed nr of packages and weight of package :
Example :
" DPD Global Door-to-Door Delivery (1 x 4.50Kg) (Global Express 1-3 days)
"
to be
"DPD Global Door-to-Door DElivery : Global Express 1-3 days"
the" (1 x 4.50Kg)" is generated by the script and I would like to deactivate.
What I have to change in scrips?
Thank You!

Can I set up table rates for individual items instead of zones?
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Great Module and use it all the time
However with shippers now getting a bit snarky over bulky items it has created a problem for us and I dare say quite a few others.
This module relies totally on weight. Is there a way to to get it to convert volume to weight.
I see it working as such
If a product has it's height x length x width set it calculates the corresponding "determined" weight and if higher it uses this as the basis for calculating the shipping cost.
Example using beans for a bean bag
Actual weight is 1.5 kg
Length 120cm
Width 20cm
Height 20cm
This gives a cubic measurement of 0.048cubic metres. If a shipper calculates a cubic metre as being 200kg this would make the determined weight 9.6kg and that is what they would charge.
They current module would need an alteration to
1. Determine if volume measurements exist for the item
2. If they do calculate the "determined weight"
3. Use the determined weight instesd of the physical weight
The admin module would also require a volume weight field for working this out. ie 1 volume unit = xxx physical weight unit.
A slight alternative is doing this at the end of the order - that is all item volumes are calculates at the end of the order and depending on which is higher - the physical weight or the determined weight this is used for the shipping calculation.
Any ideas on this one?
Thanks

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
This's what I've been looking for...GREAT MOD !! Thx
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
For accurate shipping calcs, I have set the maximum package weight at 40# (in Configuration/ Shipping/Packaging). This gives me the most realistic results for UPS rates.
For heavier orders, ZoneTable would work great. Problem is, it seems to not work with the Max Pkg Weight so low. It calcs everything at the rate for a 40#.
Is there a way to get the ZonesTable or RegionTable mods to ignore the Max Pkg Weight and just calc on total weight (since it may be a pallet?).
I've searched for this discussion in vain. Sorry if its out there and I'm repeating a thread.
TIA.

hi guys, im new here. i live in the philippines and i have an online laptop store which targets local customers only. since this is the first time i've used zen cart and have no idea in setting up a website whatsoever, all i do is trial and error. i've been reading threads all over this forum, following instructions here and there. its good actually, coz im learning.. lol but of course, expect a bid of stupidity from a rookie.. hehe..
anyway, im almost done with my site. but was wondering if anyone could help make my life easier.
as far as being relevant to this thread's topic, i wanna know if its possible to create a shipping table that computes shipping rates for cities in my country. i guess one big factor for this is the shipping courier i will use, and that would be a local courier of course. can anybody please tell me what i'd really need to make this happen? your help is much appreciated.

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Sounds like you may have accidentally loaded the code into the language directory ...
Go to the Tools ... Developers Tool Kit ...
In the bottom input box, enter:
class zonetable
how many files and where are they located have that line in them?
NOTE: copies of files or backups will also throw this error in the self loading module directories ...

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
What i want to do is
Have Seperate Shipping Charges for
Continental US Lower 48
then a seperate shippign rate for the OTHER US States not i nthe lower 48
Then a Shipping rate For Canada
Can this be done with this, or can it be done with the regular built in Module
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
I, too, want to ship to just the 48 states, alaska and hawaii, and canada. I have set up 3 zone definitions for each. I want to use the shipping module that is default in the zone rates. Is it possible to change the Zone 1 Countries to Zone 1 States for the 48 contiguous, Zone 2 countries to Zone 2 states for Hawaii and Alaska?
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
not to take away from this module but
Kauai i made a module that duplicates the table rate module, so you could use that 1 for continental us and one for the other states
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
yup, I finally did that after pulling my hair all morning. Thanks for the info. Making duplicates of the shipping and setting one for continental and one for alaska and hawaii was the answer.

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
So I have been searching for a while now and I found your module Surf7. I wanted to ask you if it sounds like something that could help my problem.
I have my country and zone list down to what I want it to be. I am now trying to figure out the options they have available. You can split up zone shipping by item/weight/price. I'm semi confused as to what to choose. For example... I have three zones and I am shipping things off in dozens. If someone orders 1 - 2 dozen, I want a specific shipping price for 1 - 2 dozen for zone 1, another for zone 2, and another for zone 3. Same thing if someone orders 3 dozen or 4 dozen.
I was wondering if your module is something that could remedy that. Also, I am quite new to ZC and I haven't installed a module yet. Any direction on that?
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
I need to have different custom designed shipping methods for different zones.
Example I do Airmail, Standard Mail and Courier shipping from South Africa to the rest of the world.
Depending on certain groups of countries these options cost different rates that can be described in tables.
Would I be able to do that with this module?

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
So I believe I figured out my last post. I now am running into the problem of
Warning: constant() [function.constant]: Couldn't find constant MODULE_SHIPPING_ZONETABLE_ZONE_4 in /home/shop3sma/public_html/shop/includes/modules/shipping/zonetable.php on line 82
I saw this problem earlier in this thread, so I uninstalled (or believed I did) and reinstalled the mod, but I'm still getting the error. If someone could go over the proper way to install and uninstall if it is any different than just uploading the files to the proper folder, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
@Nicksc:
I found you have to do all your zone definitions and Tax rates, so they all show green. Then reinstall the module.
It will then allow for the appropriate number of zones.
@all
So the thing seems right for me, as I need 20+ custom designed zones to accomodate different parts of the world and different shipping methods.
But alas, the thing is showing yellow still, even though all the underlying zone definitions show green. Also, When I do a test order and use an adress in a country that clearly lies in one of those zones, I get the "sorry we don't ship to your country" rap.
Is there anything I still don't get about zone definitions?
I have added groups of whole countries, specifying "all zones" to form Zone definitions.
Or could it be because my shop is V1.3.8?

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Please help! I've configured 4 zones and everything seems to be working OK except for one problem. I'm using Price mode and I'm trying to use the following rates for Zone 1: 100:10,100000:10%.
My understanding is that this should charge $10 for anything up to $100 and then 10% for anything over $100. This will give me a minimum shipping charge of $10. Unfortunately, the cart only charges 10% for all orders, even those under $100. I've tried a whole lot of different combinations (including using only flat dollar amounts instead of a percentage), and it always charges the LAST number in the list. This is true for all of my zones!
Anyone have any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

I added the first 11 Zones and set the taxes.
Then I set up the zone table rates - all good.
Now I need to add more zones and get the error "couldn't find constant.....
My question is if I uninstall and then reinstall, will I lose all the rates I set up already?
Thanks,
Tina

Yes, all the rates will be gone after you uninstall. So backup first before you uninstall. Simply copy and paste the rates to your notepad. Then copy it back after you reinstall.

Thanks for the response - that's what I thought, but wanted to verify!

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
I have tested by setting up four zones. But the fourth zone is not shown in the "Shipping Modules > Zones Table Rate" area.
I'm quite new to this. Can it support more than 3 zones? Or is 3 zones good enough for all situations?
Thanks.

Have you installed this module?
I have used this module and set up shipping with 35 zones! All are working perfectly!
Suggestion: set up all the zones you need then uninstall the Zone Table Rate and then install it again - your zones should be available to work with.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Yes, I installed Zone Table Rate.... then set the zones using Zone Definitions (East Malaysia, West Malaysia, International). Then went to Modules > Shipping > Zone Table Rate to setup the shipping charges ... the 3 zones are shown on the right column where I can enter shipping rates, handling fee etc.
Then I added another zone called International 2 with Zone Definitions.... but when I go to Modules > Shipping > Zone Table Rate again, still only the first 3 zones are shown.
I have to unnstall and reinstall Zone Table Rate?
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Ok, I've got it. So, for the benefit of all new users, I'll explain it here.
If you add a new zone, you have to Remove the Zone Table Rate then Install again. Else, the new zone will not appear in "Modules > Shipping > Zones Table Rate" ..... or it will only appear as input boxes without labels.
After reinstallation you'll need to enter shipping rates all over again, remember to copy all the rates to somewhere else first (notepad etc).

That is correct - when you reinstall - the 4 zones will be there.
BTW - uninstall is just the button in admin (not the entire moodule!)
Also- if you set up zone definitions Extra 1, Extra 2, Extra 3 you can avoid having to uninstall/reinstall if you find out later that you need to add a new zone!

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
OK, so I am working with this module, and I have setup 3 Zone Definitions (3 different zones for different areas of the US - East/Middle/West) - The tax rates are setup, and I am going by weight (using pounds). The name of my Zone Definitions are 1, 2, 3 (I know... very creative). When I am configuring the Zone Rates, under "Zone 1 Countries" I type in 1, because I named the Zone definition that. I do that with "Zone 2 Countries" and "Zone 3 Countries" respectively with 2 and 3. Now, I'm not sure if this is the correct way to do this, as when I go checkout on my site, it says "No shipping available to the selected country". Hopefully someone can help me out with this problem. Thanks.

Are you getting that message for all shipping options or just USPS?
If just USPS - make sure your account with USPS is set ot production, not test!
Tina
PS a link to your site would really help

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
In my shipping modules section of the control panel, all I have enabled is "Store Pick Up" and "Zone Rates." Do I need to have the USPS module enabled?

DOY! :shocking:
It has nothing to do with USPS - I have that module on my brain.
Soooooooooo sorry!
A link to your site would help.
Try this and see what happens.
You may need to enter a ZIP code in order to get a shipping estimate returned.
or You may need to enable freeshipper.
Tina

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
The site is www.shop3smartcookies.com
I enabled the freeshipper mod, and that didn't work. The problem also isn't with the "estimate shipping" field, it's when I hit checkout, and I'm at "Step 1 of 3 - Delivery Information." It comes up with the option of "Store Pickup" and below that it says "Zone Rates" and the "No shipping available to the selected country" message.
Am I doing this the correct way by naming my Zone Definitions, and then using that name in my setup of the Zone Rates where it asks for a country code?

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Just for some more info, this is what I have inserted in the Zone Rates module.
The weights/prices are just filler for now to test it out.
Zone 1 Countries
1 (This is the name of one of my Zone Definitions that I created)
Zone 1 Shipping Table
5:10,7:15,99:20.00
Zone 1 Handling Fee
0
Zone 2 Countries
2
Zone 2 Shipping Table
5:11,7:15,99:20.00
Zone 2 Handling Fee
0
Zone 3 Countries
3
Zone 3 Shipping Table
5:12,7:15,99:20.00

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
I am using this module for the first time. When using with price it works fine but whenever i use it with weight it is creating lots of problems.
I have currently only one zone and zone table is
1000:100,2000:170,3000:240
If my weight is 10 i am getting 100
If my weight is 90 i am getting 300
If my weight is 600 i am getting 1400
Can anyone suggest what is the problem??
Even my normal table rate module gives the same.
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Right now everything does weigh 0 lbs. But that's not the point right now as I set one of the weights, and that is coming up properly. I have different prices set for the different zones, so it should be different when shipping to Georgia than it is to California when the weight is under 10 lbs.

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Check the affect of the Shipping/Packaging settings and see if anything in there is throwing things off and let us know ...
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
I'm not sure if the last comment was for me, but if it was, then that is fine.
I guess my main question is, can you use a Zone Definition Same as a Country Code when setting up Zone Rates?
This is what it says (I'm sure you know)
"Zone 1 Countries
Comma separated list of two character ISO country codes that are part of Zone 1.
Set as 00 to indicate all two character ISO country codes that are not specifically defined."
And inside the text box below that I put "1" b/c I created a Zone Definition and named it "1." 1 contains nine different states.
If I can't do this, then how do I use that Zone definition... or if I am doing it wrong, how would I setup those 9 states to have a set shipping rate, then setup other states to have another?

Thanks buddy it worked!!! Just problem with shipping and packaging configuration.
Thanks for helping.

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
I guess that wasn't for me :(
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
How do I add extra zones? I have setup 9 zones but the zonetable module defaults to allow only 7?
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
If you made the Zones after installing, you will want to EDIT and save your settings, then REMOVE and INSTALL ... then reconfigure it ...

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Cannot go beyond 3 zones. Iniatially i created 12 zones for Malaysia. When i insert the shipping rates into the 12 zones. It cannot work. Then i slowly removed each one and only 3 zones left, and it works. This is the error after i enabled the 4th zone.
Warning: Variable passed to each() is not an array or object in /home/simplyvc/public_html/jintex/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php on line 114
Should i remove all zones and reinstall again.
Thanks

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Hi there, I am trying to set up 3 different shipping zones:
1. NSW,ACT
2.QLD, VIC
3. TAS,SA,NT,WA
There would be 3 different shipping prices for each zone:
1. Less than 2kg=$8.50 2-5kg=$10.00 5-10kg=$12.50
2. Less than 2kg=$10.00 2-5kg=$13.50 5-10kg=$20.00
3. Less than 2kg=$11.50 2-5kg=$23.00 5-10kg=$35.00
There will also be a $5 handling fee for each order.
Can anyone please help me thanks...Im sure theres an easy way but im probably confusing myself???

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
I tried removing all the zones that i setup and remove zones table rates. I Ftp the contribution again and setup the zones defintions again. Then i install zones table rates again and insert all the shipping rates again. But still nor working. I cannot go beyond 4th zones. The first 3 works. After inserting the 4th error as follow :
Warning: Variable passed to each() is not an array or object in /home/simplyvc/public_html/jintex/includes/classes/db/mysql/query_factory.php on line 114

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Now, i have ran out of ideas. No matter what i do, it still not working. Just now i created 14 zones and in zones table rate, it appeared , so i put in the shipping rates, then viola.... not working. This is the error in my index page:
1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'EXPECTED_PRODUCTS_SORT limit MAX_DISPLA
in:
[select p.products_id, pd.products_name, products_date_available as date_expected from zen_products p, zen_products_description pd where p.products_id = pd.products_id and p.products_status = 1 and pd.language_id = '1' and p.products_date_available >=20080902 order by EXPECTED_PRODUCTS_FIELD EXPECTED_PRODUCTS_SORT limit MAX_DISPLAY_UPCOMING_PRODUCTS]
I think i suspect is the version of my SQL in my server. It's version [MySQL 4.0.27-standard]. Does it requires version 5.0?
I just disabled it for the time being.
Thanks

Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Please ignore this post, I have found a solution after having read other post in this thread.
Original question: "Hi, how can i increase the number of 'Shipping Zone' from default 4 to 20? could you please advise which file or code to tweak, thank you in advance!!!"
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
This may have been entered somewhere, but I have spent a whole day searching the forum to no avail.....
I need to increase the maximum characters in the zone shipping tables and zone countries, but cannot find how.
All the FAQ says is "Lastly, there is a limit of 255 characters on each of the Zone Shipping Tables and Zone Countries. This can be changed in the database to suit your needs."
I have looked through the db but cannot see where the shipping is configured (or even where the tables have to go:frusty:
I am using version 1.3.8a and wishing I had never upgraded....
-
Re: Zones Table Rate Shipping Module
Actually, the limit was removed in v1.3.7 or v1.3.8 ...
You will see it if you see the:
00 means all other countries no listed
If you don't see that, first, save all settings to NotePad, as all settings will be lost, and REMOVE, INSTALL and configure ...
