Domestic (US) customers get offered both Express and Priority, but suddenly, no matter which they choose it switches it to Express. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and it didn't help. I called 800-ask-usps and they said it is a problem some 3rd party carts are having and it's caused by the cart not requesting rates with all caps.
I'm using:
Zen Cart 1.3.7.1
Database Patch Level: 1.3.7.1

But we tried to get the fix out ASAP once we found out! :cool:
I can not get the file to download, the window opens, but it is all black and evntually closes on its own, and I am quite unsure how to install this after I get it to download....Is there another thread or a help question somewhere? I have been unable to find it.
The november patch doesn't work for me!
And I uninstalled and reinstalled the module. I applied it on all my OSC stores without problem though, but ZC seems to be pickier to patch...
Any clues?
I am still running Zen Cart 1.2.6 is there a way to patch this old version?
I know, I know... I am way behind but just have'nt had the time to upgrade and it's been as stable as can be so why fix it if it aint broke right? oops! it broke! (thanks usps)
I uploaded the new USPS file but then in admin it says:
Cannot inherit from undefined class base in line 13....

I used the patch, and it seemed to work, but now we're getting customer complaints that USPS is forcing express mail again. Should I re-try the patch again, or is there something else I can do? I'm sure you probably need more info (I'm running 1.3.7) but not sure what else to include...

Tried it myself, and it's still forcing express. I'm going to re-install the patch and see if that fixes it.
Be sure to REMOVE and INSTALL the USPS shipping module once you load the new files ...
NOTE: Write down your settings as they will all be removed when you hit REMOVE ...
Re-moved it, re-installed, and re-configured. Still forces express.
Two questions that I think it could possibly be though:
1.) When I called USPS to have my account switched over to the production server, it was already on the production server from last time. Do I need to switch to the test server, re-install, and then have it moved back to production?
2.) I removed the module from the Zen-Cart admin interface. Is this correct, or do I need to remove the files themselves via my FTP program?
Basically, I removed it via the admin panel, installed the new patch, then re-installed via the admin panel and reconfigured with my password and preferences... is there something else I needed to do (probably so, and probably really obvious, haha) that I didn't?
While it sounds silly ... are you sure you are loading the new files from:

Can you also check the 2 configure.php files:

/admin/includes/configure.php
Make sure the paths and database name, username, password and server match ...
Hmm... that's where I got the file from. I removed it, re-installed, reconfigured one last time, and now it's working. No idea what I did the first two times differently, but now it works I guess? Last time it seemed to work as well, but about a week later we started getting customer complaints that it was forcing shipping to express again.
I think it's gremlins ... they are out about this time of year ... :eek:

I am in trouble too. My usps module in not working. I installed the fix and followed the instructions but was not successful at making it work.
I checked the zip codes in my store and the sample testing case.
I tried with Test mode then Production mode.
I just don't know what I am missing.

Call USPS again and make sure that your Account has been activated for the Production Server once you received your account number ... and again test with the Production Server once you confirm that your account is active ...Quote:

Any chance you received 2 API usernames as I did?
I mistook the second email as an echo from the server as my email is forwarded.
Sure enough the 2nd username was the winner.
Do you see a yellow or green light in the USPS module edit window? Maybe your zones and taxes are not completely defined?
What is your 5 digit US Zip code, Ship From and Ship To address and the weight being shipped?

Okay, I seem to also be having some issue with the USPS module that gives me the standard:
"We are unable to find a USPS shipping quote suitable for your mailing address and the shipping methods we typically use.
If you prefer to use USPS as your shipping method, please contact us for assistance.
(Please check that your Zip Code is entered correctly.)"
I've downloaded / removed / installed / reconfigured the module and the situation hasn't changed. This started yesterday after I upgraded to 1.3.8a
Any other suggestions?
