Re run zc_install and select upgrade
You should have a backup of your DB as 1.5.1 - just import it using phpmyadmin
Your frontend is not showing the message that your DB needs upgrading
So check your configure.php files for the correct DB being used
Use phpmyadmin and check the admin table for user name
Why not use ZenCarts builtin maintanance function settable in the admin
Then edit a copy of this file "nddbc.html" with your "custom" content leave the name the same and test it

There is actually no reason that I can think of for your site to be under SSL the whole time as only sensitive information requires encryption and ZenCart is smart enough to envoke it when required
