[Support Thread] Nochex APC

Has anyone written a module to interface properly with the Nochex APC? I know a mod exists but it doesn't really work properly with the APC and doesn't use the callback fatures which makes it especialy unsuitable for the newer Merchant style Nochex accounts.

There's a Nochex APC module available for OSC and I'm wondering if anyone has been able to convert it? Sadly my own PHP skill fall a litle short on OSC to ZC conversions. :(

a 3rd party company is in the process of creating this at the moment, it also will make use of the new Nochex Payment Pages.

We're looking to get a small bit of assistance if anyone can help...

1. The system is not creating a record in the orders table when you make a purchase through Nochex, is there anyone with advanced knowledge of ZenCart with whom we could have a quick IM/phone conversation to work this out?

2. Who to send the module to on completion

Is there anyone with the Nochex APC module working successfully on their site? I downloaded a module from the Nochex website but there is a file missing and it just doesn't work. I've posted a query on their website but have had no reply.

Someone on here must have a ZenCart site using NOCHEX!! :unsure:

hi, if I can just clarify, the module was developed by a 3rd party company and not Nochex as Nochex doesn't offer specific support for any module.

What I have done is mailed the person who wrote the module.

He has the module up and running here and all seems to be fine??

I am unfamiliar with the ins and outs of zencart, however I will post back/ post updates on the module when I hear from the developer.

If you can bear with me, I'll get back to you asap + thanks for the feedback. Hopefully we will sort out any further glitches and be able to release a flawless version asap.

How easy would it be to modify OSC modules for ZC? I'm new to Zen Cart and very keen to get going with it.

The developer of the Nochex mod has a working demo on their site so it must exist! I'm waiting for Slick to get back to me about it after speaking to the developer.

I am also looking for a nochex mod, there must be others too.
I have just tried the demo site above and it seems to work great. Looking back in the forums, it seems that there is yet to be a sucessful mod, but this seems to be the thing. I hope we can get it.

Not used Nochex as yet, so cannot test for myself.

I've been toiling with this all night and think I might have one working now.
I'd appreciate anyone who is willing, to test and play around with it.
It is now communicating with the Nochex checkout (which the existing one I had wasn't) and seems to be going OK. Haven't actually performed a live transaction yet only this minute finished it, so can't guarantee anything.

Not used Nochex as yet, so cannot test for myself.

Sorry, I didnt intend to misslead, I have not tried it. I did conclude from reading that as the mod is now so old and that certain mods had to be done to make it work for 1.3.5. it is not reliable. Also looking at recent posts you do get that impression.
I am not a programmer, so like others here need a mod that will work without probs. The one in the demo seems to be that.

Excellent, thanks for that Hazel, I'll give it a try tonight and let you know.

To the other: I believe the Nochex module in the archives is NOT an APC module, i.e. No callback to your site and no automatic confirmation of the payment. It'll behave just like a 'normal' Nochex payment.

Fingers crossed for hazels mod! :wink2:

The existing NoChex module (ie. the 'old' one) works fine on zen 1.3.6 - my clients are using it on several shops (and the oldest shop is still on v 1.2.3)

It does confirm to the shop that a payment has been processed successfully, and it does initiate the 'checkout success' page and order in the shop/confirmation emails - although the version presently in the downloads section was corrupted last time I tried it (Jan 2006 - problem with some of the carriage returns being stripped out when it was uploaded, or something similar maybe - fixable though).

The 'new' NoChex APC currently has a file missing (or did have a few days ago) plus it doesn't pass the location of your header banner/logo for the payment page at NoChex as the existing mod does - although you can copy the code across from the existing mod quite easily. The confirmation emails from NoChex no longer display the delivery address (they used to in the older mod).

It's also missing the customer's 'phone number (which is now a required field on the new NoChex payment page) although apparently NoChex don't have a variable for that if you're using the 'Seller' account (the Merchant account has one) - bit of an omission on NoChex's part perhaps since the customer gets an error if they don't see/fill it in.

It also doesn't pass the postage (again, no variable, apparently) and it's difficult to get the cart description formatted properly at present (NoChex is ignoring the formatting codes - have emailed them).

The new APC module seems to give a bit more info on the customer's order page (similar to Paypal) - although I haven't been able to see it yet because the missing file prevents it displaying - and the payment page at NoChex is better laid out, otherwise I can't see much different between the old and new mod unless you're using a NoChex 'Merchant' account, when it seems to provide more variables and the possibility of feeding several shops into the same NoChex account (although beware, there's a large rolling retainer on the 'Merchant' account).

Just a FYI for anyone downloading ... the new version is not yet in the downloads section (presumably hasn't been 'approved' yet) - the mod there today is still the older one (with the file missing) dated 20th December.

There's two problems:

1. The mod in the download section is still (currently) the old mod dated 20 December. Although you can process a transaction via NoChex with this one, it has a file missing that prevents the display of the payment info on the customer's order page (it gives an error).

2. If your field descriptions are missing when you edit the NoChex mod in admin check to see if you have the existing (ie older, non-APC) NoChex mod files also in your shop - the files for the two mods cannot be present at the same time since they seem to use some of the same variables and clash - irrespective of the info in the mod's readme file that says they can co-exist.
