Image Handler 2 (for ZC v1.3.8 ONLY) Support

I can't seem to find an answer. I'm trying to get rid of the last validation error and I believe it's related to IH2.

The error i'm getting says:
"<" + "/" + letter not allowed here

and references this code:

If I'm understanding it correctly, it should end with <\/span><\/a>

Is that correct? What file do I edit to fix it?
