I have IH large image maximum width/height 750/550px accordingly. However, all the existing LRG images (before IH installation) are 200x160 or 300x240. Those are generated by IH as I have not created large images.
My question remains the same: where are the above settings 200x160 or 300x240? I just cannot find such numbers in the configuration->images
IH will only REDUCE a large image that exceeds the maximum sizes.
The idea behind IH was to allow people who don't have a clue about image preparation (even after they've read the excellent How to) to simply upload their images and have them correctly optimized for the web. It will not attempt to expand the size of an image because we know that results in poor quality, so what you should be doing is uploading your large images to the images directory (or sub-directory) and IH will create the small and medium sizes with appropriate filesizes.
I think you'll find that those dimensions you have are the actual size of the pre-IH uploaded images.

Has anyone experienced security holes with IH? I just had ALL my images wiped out from my store (I already restored them). Only images related to products and articles, not design.
I have all my ZC security patches (I'm using ZC v1.3.5), and since it was an image issue, thought it might be IH.

I've installed Image Handler 2 on Zen Cart 1.26d.
Resizing the source hires image to small and medium is working but the large image is showing up clipped (only part of the hires image is shown).
Any pointers to why this may be?
Also any additional images are not displayed since installing Image Handler. What could be causing this?
Should I be seeing files appear in the bmz_cache directory?

Seriously?? Dude, you are using a very, very, very, vert,VERY out of date and obsolete version of Zen. Forget about Image Handler - the author has gone awol, and I've had less problems since uninstalling it. I had the same troubles as you, and more besides.
Uninstall and update Zen to 1.3.7!
I'm aware that this is an outdated version of Zen Cart and I expected somebody to point that out to me...
It's not being used as a shop but as a catalogue so there's not much to compromise. Upgrading would of course be possible but won't be as easy as for most installations as I customized Zen Cart here and there.
I appreciate your answer but to be honest it doesn't solve my problem.
If Image Handler really is no good I'd gladly use something else for easy image handling but I didn't see many other options. Maintaining thousands of images manually in three different resolutions isn't much fun!
So how did you replace Image Handler?
Daniel
There was an:
Image-Handler v1.0-beta2 for Zen-Cart v1.2.6d
by Tim Kroeger, breakmyzencart.com
See if you can still find it. This should work just fine. I used it back when....
Live and learn... the Zen way.
I think you'll find he actually did a IH2 which could be used for 1.2.x - http://www.breakmyzencart.com/image-handler
There's nothing wrong with IH - heaven knows where you got the idea that it's no good. Just make absolutely sure you follow the installation instructions to the letter.![]()

Hi,
Sorry if this has been covered in the 80 pages on this thread, but I need help with an issue.
I have IH2 installed and it seems to be working, but when I hover over an image I get the IH2 popup, but I also receive the standard tool tip on top of it.
Did I miss something on the install or is there a way to turn the tool tips off?
