Automating Reoccurring Billing?

I see a lot going on from now and years ago regarding Automated Reoccurring billing with Auth.net and am curious as to other people have been competing these transactions.

Emphasis on:
Subscriptions that vary in duration. (thus excluding the 2007-ARB module in the modules section)

I see some people trying a work around form the limited ARB module by doing a patch integration with Auth.net CIM, and then manually scheduling their monthly subscriptions in the ARB interface within their merchant accounts on Auth.net. This seems very cumbersome.

What would be ideal for me, is is the ARB module would look to a selected product attribute to acquire the subscription duration and associated price. Though I confess that programming is beyond me.

Yeah i dont really believe that. I think that nobody has written or shared the right module as of yet. Complicated sure, impossible I doubt.
