    Default Screen Issues

    Hello,

    I am getting complaints from customers that the page is screwed up on their monitors. I'm assuming this has something to do with screen resolution, but have no idea how to fix it in the context of zen cart. I, myself, have two widescreen monitors and am testing on the big main browsers (chrome, firefox, IE, opera and safari). So this may be more a newb kind of question, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

    You might try a free service like

    I checked out that site and even some similar ones and much as I suspected, it doesn't look the some of other browers. My question, how can I fix that within zen cart?

    What are they saying is "screwed up"?

    The only thing I noticed was the scroll bar at the bottom of the page.

    This can be fixed by making the following changes in your stylesheet.css

    find the following and make the highlighted changes.

    #mainWrapper {
    margin:0 auto;
    background-color: #ffffff;
    text-align: left;
    width: 1000px;
    vertical-align: top;
    }

    I am being told that half of the header is missing and it is being pushed to the left side of the screen. Some are complaining about the menu bar at the top and some of the options are doubling on top of each other. Again, there scenarios very depending on browser and resolution because it looks fine on my computer. Is there any way to make it acceptable for all browsers and resolutions?

    You are not using sideboxes but the space for them is allocated

    You might try
    admin > config > layout settings > Column Left Status - Global > off
    and

    admin > config > layout settings > Column Right Status - Global > off

    Also correct the page errors

    22 Errors, 21 warning(s)

    Okay...so after reviewing some screen shots, the only thing that is affected is the header and that applies to all resolutions below 1280x800, with each one getting worse the lower it goes. The browser doesn't seem to matter at all.
    The menu at top is unaffected and still in working condition in some capacity.

    That being said, my new and clearer question is...is there anyway to make the header look respectable in resolutions below 1280x800?

    thanks for any help

    That only removed the blue on the side and didn't have effect on the header.

    Also, on that link with the errors, how can I address those problems?

    Many of your images are at fault being too wide to render at lower resolutions

    As one is 998px × 640px

    A fluid layout would utilize a small tile for a background repeated as required

    Your main images need to be down sized in width to at least fit the lowest resolution you are concerned with

    Maybe 1024X768

    There are so many that are items that you or your template have induced it is hard to provide one solution

    Out of the box, ZenCart validates with NO errors
    So all of yours have been added

    You can see a mostly stock ZenCart install validated HERE
