There are also uninstall instructions in the readme. Not all mods uninstall the same way (simple file deletion via FTP). Any mod that has an install.sql file (or a install switch somewhere in the admin that will run the install.sql file for you automatically) will require removal of the mod from your database.

Most mods will have either an uninstall.sql script to run, or an uninstall switch to flip somewhere in the admin (as IH2 does). In your case, it wouldn't have made a whole lot of difference since you never flipped the install switch in the admin to begin with.

But, had you read the readme in it's entirety before installation, this whole process would have been much easier for you.

When you have an issue with installation and need to uninstall before re-installing, it is very important to follow the uninstall instructions.

The more complex the mod, the more instructions there are to follow, and the more crucial it is that you read and follow them.

Lesson learned for the future, I'm sure

When you're new to ZC, the learning curve can be steep - but well worth the effort. I for one, have learned most of what I know from the mistakes I have made

And Diva is right when she says she was seeking clarification. On any support thread (not just this one) the more detail you provide about the steps you took, the version of ZC you are running, your DB version, etc...the more you can be helped. Otherwise, we just have to guess.

Saying something like "I completed all the installation steps per the instructions and it doesn't work" is not providing detailed information. Had you listed step by step what you did, any person here would have been able to immediately point out the step that you missed and saved you a great deal of time and frustration.

I know it takes a lot of time to type all that out, but you must be willing to put in the time required to receive the level of support you need (remembering all the while that the free support you get here requires a great deal of time on the part of those providing it).

I hope the information provided here helps you in the future

If in your initial post by INSTALL you meant that you

  1. FTP'd the files over

    BUT

    you DID NOT
(as the readme says to do)

  2. Go to Admin > Tools >Image Handler2, click on the "Admin" link and click on "Install Image Handler".

Then THIS is why your install was not working all along. Based on your subsequent posts on how you finally resolved your issue, it seems clear (based on your initial posts) that you DID NOT perform that second step.

Glad to hear that it's working now.. Not being impatient at all.. Simply trying to get clarification on this.. Want o make sure it's clear to those who read this thread to help with issue that the problem and solution are clear..
