    It sounds like the attributes are set as "Default Attribute to be Marked Selected:" . In Admin> Catalog> Attributes controller. Make sure the orange box marked "Default Attribute to be Marked Selected:" is set to "No".

    Or, you've set them all as separate Option Names, and assigned only one value, and thus there are no alternatives to "check". Better to use one Option Name, and link 4 option Values to it.

    I think this is the problem. Working now on fixing it. So, I create one option name - Price - and assign 4 option values to it?

    That's in the attributes controller, where you link the option names to the option values for the product.
