First things first. Did you verify in the Read Me First text file of your version Captcha, that it is compatible with the version of Zen-Cart you're using?

If it's compatible with Zen-Cart v1.3.8, double check your settings for Captcha from your store admin. Click 'Configuration', then 'CAPTCHA Validation', and ensure that Create Account option is set to True.

It's been along time since I have utilized Zen-Cart v1.3.8. The latest version that has been released is Zen-Cart 1.3.9h, and version 1.5.0 will be released once BETA testing is complete. Many security issues have been resolved since version 1.3.8. You may want to take the time and plan an update to the latest version of Zen-Cart to help resolve this issue, if everything else appears to be ok.

Last question. Has the bot been able to open customer accounts on your site? Or, has it been able to fill out reviews, without creating an account?
    CAPTCHA I using is TTF & GD v2.9, Zen Cart 1.3.8a, PHP Version: 5.2.17 , MySQL 5.0.92...
Downloaded from here: http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=551 , so is for my version of Zen Cart. Create account is set to "true"Boot is not able to create accounts(not happened). Yes, boot filling out reviews without creating account, and Product Reviews Require Approval" is set with a '1' for True, so only I can see reviews(burning my time to delete them) .Yes, store is set to showroom mode, I using it to my company MLM recruiting. I think to upgrade to 1.5, waiting to when testing will be finished...

OK, what's happening can/may be the result of another Add-On which could be interfering with the Captcha PHP Code. I can help you look for this, but I would also need to know, All Add-Ons which you have added to Zen-Cart.

There is another item that you should also consider looking at, and that is your .htaccess file, if the server your using, uses Apache Software. Blocking Bad Bots with .htaccess is very helpful in todays market. Should you need some help with adjusting that file in order to block bots, or others, I have provided the following Online Instructional links below.

For assistance in writing .htaccess code:

    http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/mod...cess.html#deny

    http://www.ipdeny.com/

    http://www.darrinward.com/blog/seo/b...ots-prevention

    http://www.electrictoolbox.com/apach...ny-ip-address/

You will find that with Zen-Cart, and many Add-Ons, you will still need to add additional security coding to .htaccess to aid in putting a stop to hackers, and just plain nuisances. Which even if there are no conflicting code issues with other Add-Ons that you have in place, and if Captcha seems to be working correctly, without adding additional coding in .htaccess to block unwanted computers, or people, it can still be easy for them to get in, and be annoying.

I hope this helps to point you in the right direction to resolve the issue your having.

In addition to everything else regarding your issue with Captcha, you should post your problem, with the version of Captcha you have, in the forum for that type and version.

Even though, those of us in this one, may be able to figure out how to resolve your problem, it's likely someone else has had the same problem who is in the forum for your type and version of Captcha, and the resolution for it, may already be posted there when you check it out. And if not, should someone have the same problem in the future, it would make it easier for them to find the solution, once it is resolved. The forum for your type and version of Captcha is located at: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showth...ht=Captcha+TTF .

It's not that we don't want to help, but we need to make sure that the information is posted in the right location, to make sure that everyone who needs to know how to resolve the problem for the specific type and version of an add-on, can find the appropriate information for the issue.

Questions regarding version 1.4 of this module, for Zen-Cart v1.5.0, should be posted in the new thread located here: http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=186274

    Uh oh, something went wrong!

I really need some help, want to thank you in advance for taking the time to look at this.

Ok, I have a ZC 139h and I just installed CAPTCHA User Verification Version 1.3. I downloaded this CAPTCHA here (not the version for ZC 1.5.0 but the version just below):
    http://www.zen-cart.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=325

CAPTCHA is installed and appears to be working just fine for Contact Us. However, it is messed up on Tell A Friend.

    PROBLEM:
No CAPTCHA shows up on Tell A Friend. But if you fill it out and click SEND, it kicks back 2 errors.
"You have not entered a validation (CAPTCHA) code."
"You have entered an incomplete or incorrect validation (CAPTCHA) code."

Can you tell me what I did wrong?

Here is a link to a product on my site (click TELL A FRIEND for a demonstration of the problem):

I wish there was some way to delete the post above, I have gotten rid of the CAPTCHA entirely and reverted back.

I have decided to go with the CSS method.... AWESOME! Seems way more customer friendly to my site visitors.

Anyway, please don't waste your time answering my above questions as I have changed directions.

    Thanks,
    Mike

It would appear that, relating to your post previous to this one, that you have adjusted your image size from the original 30 x 30px, to 100 x 80px. I would suggest searching your site for the 100 x 80px settings, and see what you find, and, how it would effect your validation image folder. Perhaps you have a css file creating a problem?

In regards to your Create Account page not showing the CAPTCHA, though not included in the original info for the file, you must set your Login Page to "Split", or, it will not show on the Create Account page due to the settings of the file. Log into your Admin, click on Configuration in the upper left corner, select Layout, and towards the bottom of the page, change the setting of your Login Page to TRUE, for the Split Page option. Then when someone goes to create an account, they will see that at the bottom of the page, after filling out their information.

don't know if I'm looking in the right place but the only mention of 100x80px is the small image setting in admin at that was the default setting.
