Ok, think I'm just about done.
    I'm getting this error?
GOOGLE_PRODUCTS_DIRECTORY) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory

    How should I proceed?
    Thanks again.

Make sure that the Output Directory you have setup in the configuration is the same as the directory in the root of your store. If it is setup as feed/google/, ftp in and make sure feed/google exists in the root.

I may be changing the wrong thing. In my root I'm using feed. Do I need to change this to GOOGLE_PRODUCTS_DIRECTORY ? It seems that this is the only way I can make any progress without getting that same error.

    Just FYI:

I'm using Numinix's 1.11.1 (he just posted 1.11.2 with a bug fix for Availability on 10-5-2011) with Zencart 1.3.8a patched for UTF-8 and am not having any problems (knocks on wood).

Numinix added a switch for the sanitizer so you can turn it off (default). They may actually make it "safe" for non-utf-8 stores. But you better test it first!

Only issues I've noticed is with the Security Key and my Cron jobs. I coded out the Security Key last time, and probably will again if I can't get it working this time.

3,000 products submitted and accepted fine.

SIDE NOTE: If you want to add your "google products category" to your feed for every product, it's actually pretty 'easy'.... I added that functionality in about 20 minutes to the base feeder (not elegant, mind you), then modded my EasyPopulate4 (beta!) to let me upload gpc's for each item by just adding a new field to the products database.

No. GOOGLE_PRODUCTS_DIRECTORY is simply the directive in the googlefroogle.php file, it is not the actual directory name.

If you have the folder feed in your store root, then the Output Directory in your configuration should be set to feed/.

If you still get the failed to open dir: No such file or directory error message, then you have a permissions issue.

Does anyone know how to make the attributes on the actual product pages "hidden"? I'm not thrilled with how they look on my site and don't actually need them there except for Google Feed. I have no choices so seems kind of lame to have attributes on the product pages.

That's the new Google Product Category requirement. Go to their taxonomy:

    http://www.google.com/support/mercha...?answer=160081

Select a category/sub-category that best fits your site. Click it and it will create the correct entry for you. Use the xml entry it creates and put that in Default Product Category in your feeder configuration.

For example, one of my sites is collectibles, so the Google taxonomy is Arts & Entertainment > Collectibles and the actual entry I added was Arts & Entertainment > Collectibles.

Edit: That goes in Default Product Category in the configuration, NOT Default Product Type.

You've been a great help. I can't thank you enough. I can't seem to find default product category. Do you mean Included categories?
