How to support multiple languages? Thanks.

I doubt if this is what I am looking for although I didn't try it out. It looks like just a language kit and it support that language in the whole website, but what I need is user can switch languages by simply click on the right top language option.

The languages don't "magically" appear.
There is not a google translate feature.

For each language you want to support you need to install the appropriate language pack.
Only then can a customer select it.
As well for each language you need to add the appropriate text.

eg: Install four extra languages. (Five total inc English)
You need to add 5 versions (languages) of the product descriptions for each product.

There is a language selector sidebox that you can enable in Tools > Layout Boxes Controller. (It is only useful after you have installed language packs.) If you want the selector function in the header, then you need custom code.


It is actually possible with clever CSS manipulation to make that language sidebox appear to be in the header. This does not require any custom PHP code, only a new stylesheet rule.
