Ultimate Cross Sell [Support Thread]

Lol, well what I usually do with a mod that doesn't include so many files is browse through each folder in the mod, and make sure each file is unique to the module in question, in this case most of the files are named and you can see they're not native filenames to zencart. After which I say cool, unzip everything, if I do get an overwrite prompt, I take the filename down and check later to make comparisons etc etc. In any case, most mods tell you that they're overwriting files if they are - but nowadays it's copy paste parts of code instead of overwrite. Anyhow no harm done.

Do yourself a favour, unzip the contents all together without separately dragging. Just make sure you rename the YOUR_TEMPLATE within the ultimate cross sell archive to whatever your template is called.

And then test whether this fixed the issue...

Also check the permissions for the file in your admin root, mine is sitting at 644 (not that I think this would make a difference) - bust just maybe.

Good gracious buddy, we're living in the 2nd millenium already, that is not how folders act nowadays!

If you have a folder, example, ROOT/ADMIN/ - and you have 100 files in this folder - AND - you drag a folder called ADMIN (that has 30 files in it) - it will say right, A FOLDER CALLED ADMIN ALREADY EXISTS, SO WE DON'T HAVE TO CREATE ONE, WE'LL JUST USE THE ONE THAT EXISTS - and we'll take the 30 files and add it into the currently existing ADMIN folder. It will NOT REMOVE the current ADMIN FOLDER - it just overwrites if either of the 30 new files exists in the current ADMIN folder as well. And there you go you've learnt something new today. Now do it and stop arguing - but always remember, backup before you do anything from now on, because I think you could really do damage in your condition.

But anyhow, you understand how the drag&drop folder process works now right? It won't remove any if your existing stuff, it will only overwrite where the folder you are copying has files that have the same name (and location) - and all all other files that were already there still stay the same and not go anywhere.

So, just copy as is - and now that you've already copied the files inidividually, you may get overwrite prompts because of that - just make sure they're ultimate cross sell files that are being referred to when you get the prompt, and then say OK to allow the overwrite. You are using FileZilla I assume? If it not it doesn't really matter, it's just I feel FileZilla is the best FTP app out there.

everything is uploaded correctly. I can see the files in ADMIN > LAYOUT BOX but still nothing under ADMIN > CONFIG or ADMIN > CATELOG.

Hmm, ok just to be clear, when you're in Admin, and you hover your mouse on the "Configuration" link, or the "Catalog" link - the last link at the bottom of the drop-down that appears while your mouse is hovering there is not Ultimate Cross Sell Settings?

In that case, what version of Zen-Cart are you using?

Gee buddy, I'm a tad bit lost. Perhaps ultimate_zc can assist you when he/she's around. Other than that, I'd have to get access to your ftp and admin to see if I can help you out further. If you actually think you can trust me, drop me a pvt message with details. Also remember, should that be your decision, make sure to change default/current details like password/username so that when I'm done seeing if I can help you sort this out, that you can change them back afterward so I don't have access ever again. Also in case you use the same password elsewhere for webmail logins or whatever, you don't want me to be having that username/password, nor do you want it being stored in a forum's pvt message area, because anything can be compromised at some point.

Hi,
I'm trying to install the Ultimate Cross sell module on my development store, it's a fresh install (of zencart, php5, mysql etc)
zen version: v1.3.9h
PHP Version 5.3.8
mysql version:Server version: 5.1.60-community
WEb server:Microsoft-IIS/7.5
MySQL client version: mysqlnd 5.0.8-dev - 20102224 - $Revision: 310735

at step 9, I clicked the "Install" button, and got the following error:
"1366 Incorrect integer value: '' for column 'configuration_group_id' at row 1
in:
[INSERT INTO zen_configuration_group VALUES ('', 'Ultimate Cross Sell Settings', 'Set Ultimate Cross Sell Options', '1', '1')]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields."

It looks like the script is not getting the correct Id number from my database.
I can insert this manually through phpmyadmin, but I don't know if the script will still break here if I do.
how would you recommend I fix this?
