Image Handler 3 Support Thread (for ZC v1.3.9)

Re: Animated Gifs not working due to incorrect size

Further to my problem of an animated gif not working due to its incorrect size, this is just to let you know that I found a solution to my problem at:

http://www.ashongsoft.com/product/gif-resizer.html

The only thing the resizer did not do was preserve the transparent background, but turned it white. In my case, this does not matter as my page background is also white.

There may be other gif resizers out there that do preserve the transparency. Useful search words "animated gif resizer".

I am happy to announce that Image Handler 4 has been submitted to the downloads section!! There will be a new support thread, and I will post an updates when IH4 is available for download and a link to the new support thread here.

Now to ANYONE who wants to post ANYTHING that sounds like "it's about time", I will respectfully ask that you HOLD THAT THOUGHT!!

The people who participated in this development and testing did so in their own spare time and did NOT have to work on this at all!!

They are to be APPLAUDED for participating in this process.

The time it took for this release to come out is in part due to different geographical logistics, and real life priorities coming FIRST (NONE of which anyone who participated in this needs to justify or explain to anyone -- just sayin'.. )..

Most of all frankly I think we all wanted to make sure that what was being submitted was a GOOD and SOLID release and not simply some knee jerk release that wasn't properly tested.

Anyway IH4 should be available for download soon.. I will not be posting a version on my site as the turnaround for add-ons has been pretty quick round these parts lately.. So just look out for an announcement here and a link to the new support thread.

BIG thanks to nigel, ScriptJunkie, niccol, and Jorg from the Zen Cart Germany team for all of your generous time in this effort!! You all rock!!!

Thank you very much Diva & 'Crew'! Great job! My new ZC1.5 is almost ready. Almost, since IH is a 'must have' IMHO So I was patiently waiting for this module before I wanted to go live (my 'old' patched 1.3.8a is working fine, so no hurry for me though). Ofcourse there is more on the wishlist, but that can be done later.

Been reading this (and other) thread(s) for weeks now and getting more and more respect for all the time and effort you guys take to make this all possible in a very professional way!

So maybe it's time for all of you who eagerly awaited for this to hit the donate-button?
