Fedex error: String could not be parsed as XML

I have noticed that my ZC is very slow and started to give other problems. It was originally installed by my hosting service. I decided to stat from screcth and reinstalled the entire ZC in a new folder. Now everything is much better and UPS and USPS are working properly. However, FedEx module causes some troubles. After installation if customer is ready to check out there is a blank page and that is the end of it. If I set FedEx "false" everything is back to normal. I read through some of the treads, but have not find anything that fixed it. Any suggestions?

Thank you. Naturally I was looking for the cache in my main domain folder, not in the ZC :-) Sorry.

I just installed this mod today & I am getting the same result as petergy. On the admin side I provided an account & all relevant data but I get the same error code in my cache. Screen locks up and goes white. Looked at the faq suggested by Dr.Byte but its greek to me.

Thanks again Ajeh...I was using the old version. Went to the numinix site to download the new version.

Call FedEx and tell them you have Zen Cart installed.

Tell them your Account number is ... and that you need the Production Credentials.

Fedex should be able to give you the production credentials and you should not need to bother with the test credentials.

You need the following information, some of which you may have:

Authentication Key:
Meter Number:
Account Number:
Production Password

They can set up your account with this information when they talk to you.

NOTE: the Meter Number must be asked for with FedEx, if you are not able to set it up on their site ... you cannot just use a generated one, any longer ...

That URL doesn't work, but I did find this -> Numinix FedEx Web Services Shipping add-on for ZenCart. Module is installed, but giving quotes on weight different that item selected. I.E. for a single item that is 0.75lbs the rate quoted is based on 3.83lbs, for 3 items totally 4lbs quote is based on 7.40lbs... Any idea where the extra weight is coming from? does not appear to be fixed or percentage though (seems to vary between 3 & 3.5lbs based on the tests I've done so far)... Also all other (default) shipping modules (except Store Pick-up) have been disabled/unistalled. Thanks for any help.

The link I posted is old and goes to an old FedEx that is out of date now ... the one on numinix site is more recent and does work ...

Check your settings in the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging ... and see if you have Tare Rates set ... they can be turned off by setting to 0:0 ...
