Exactly! Which is why simply posting "it works for me" needs to be a FULLY qualified statement when made.. The behavior you described is the same behavior I found in my testing of this particular SBA variant. All attributes "taste like chicken" in that they are ALL turned into dropdown fields on the front-end.. IMHO, this is NOT desired/wanted behavior and (pardon my bluntness) it makes this version of SBA unusable for those shopowners who do use more than dropdown attributes in their stores..

Yep. Now, I've restored the previous version of the store, and run the uninstall sql for SBA and none of the attributes are showing in the item. Guess I'll be digging around for a while to find out why.

I am looking for a mod that will allow us to enter a different model number (sku) for each attribute of a product. Does this mod accomplish that? If not, does any one know of a mod that can help with this. We are running ZC 1.5. We are not in need of something that will control stock counts for different attributes, we only need to correlate each attribute with a different model number.

No.. this module is called "Stock by Attributes" because it is meant to mange product stock by the product attributes..

It is going to be a kick assed product.. But I believe it will be a commercial release, but I will GLADLY pay for it!!! It will do EVERYTHING all of these various crippled versions of SBA are trying to do..

I certainly don't mind paying for a mod that provides the functional we need. Our business depends on the store being able to have different model numbers for each attribute. Is there a way I can confirm that the Product Variants mod will indeed include the functionality we need? I have searched around a bit for some information on this mod but I haven't had any luck. How can I get information about it? Does anyone know when this anxiously awaited mod might be released? Of course, based on this information, we will need to decide if we wait for the mod or build the functionality ourselves.

Again.. the functionality you are looking for -- based on your original post -- is NOT functionality Stock by Attribute provides nor is the module Limitless and I speak of (which is another stock by attributes management module by a different author)

Stock by Attributes is a product for managing stock levels for single attributes or combinations of attributes (AKA variants). You are asking about functionality which allows you to link a model number to an attribute. This is NOT a module that does that..

I do hope that it's clear now that you are inquiring about a feature/function not available in SBA or similar modules.

Are you sure that Product Variants won't have a SKU field for each variant?

He states that the following fields are 'dynamic' on the product info page:

Price
Stock Level
Name
Model
Image
Weight
Date Available

I'm assuming if he is keeping track of the model (SKU) for each variant, this will be what we want/need.

Because for me, the same product LM-12345 Has a different model # for each variant, ie LM-12345-XLR , LM-12345-XXLBE etc.

I am holding out hope this is how it functions based on his demo and feature list.
