Default API problems w PP express checkout

    Zen 1.3.8 (www.thedumbdog.com)

    (13) The merchant login ID or password is invalid or the account is inactive).

I called PP and they said it was a cart issue:

You want to also let them know you contacted PayPal and they stated that the final communication from your website to PayPal is not being received. This is known as the last API call. The last API call is "Do Express Checkout Payment" and that is not what PayPal is receiving.

    What do I do now????

    TIA
    Keith

5 years? That long? Before upgrading, my roadblock is verifying that the mods I have installed now will work in the new version. Even so, will the upgrade fix my glitch?

Indeed it does, and has been all these years.

The only changes I have made recently was to drop Authorize.net, it was just not cost effective v sales w that payment method, and all I did was turn that function off.

Related mods I have is Checkout wo logging in (PayPal).

Could my 'error' come from that mod?

Where EXACTLY did you find that message?
It doesn't look like a PayPal message at all (those are almost always 5-digit numbers, not 2-digit numbers).

Ya, well, that's unrelated. The only reason your site wouldn't make that DoExpressCheckoutPayment call is if your customer is abandoning the sale. It would not have anything to do with a message saying your merchant account is inactive ... because if your merchant account at Paypal were inactive then you wouldn't even get the first SetExpressCheckout call to pass, let alone the 2nd or 3rd calls which you're talking about.

Sounds more like this is your old Authnet payment module still being active on your site but connected to a merchant account that you've cancelled. If you're gonna cancel a merchant account, you need to also remove the payment module that's offering that service.

Actually, I decided to use google to look up the error message you quoted, and the very first result I got confirms that it's your old authnet module throwing that error. See: http://support.authorize.net/authkb/...ontent&id=A415

Thanks. I suspected that. Authorize.net was turned off, not removed. It's gone now
