Hi,
Does anyone know where I can get a payments module for netregistry payments.
I'm anxious to get away from using Eway which has some serious flaws and is expensive.
Where does one go to get a module specially made for zen cart?
Regards
Robert

It appears that they also have an ecommerce cart that works with the payment gatewayWhere does one go to get a module specially made for zen cart?
Have you contacted them about integration with ZenCart?
Hi Kobra,
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I contacted them, and asked for either a Zen cart module, or if I could pay them to write one. They replied to me that they didn't have one and it would be too expensive and too complicated to write one. I doubt it would be hard with their resources and that its more a case that they couldn't be bothered thinking about it, much less doing it.
As usual I'm disappointed to see how apathetic Australian Business really is. I pointed out to them how taking the trouble to create modules for the various shopping cart systems would dramatically increase their sales but I received silence as a response.
I did not see any integration steps/code on their site
Maybe you can ask if they have that
Hi Kobra,
They've got an API information document in PDF form. Which would be great if I knew PHP or was familiar with zen cart coding. I expext that anyone thats used to writing these things could use the information there in to do whats required. Sadly I don't have what it takes.
That's because both they, and I, know something that few people here like to acknowledge. The Australian market is *tiny*, its miniscule. This talk of 'dramatically increasing their sales' is poppy ########. If they created a ZenCart module they'll boost their customer base by perhaps one hundred. If they create the module for OsCommerce, they can expect perhaps 10-20 customers. It gets even worse with other eCommerce systems.
These estimates are based on the assumption that the number of ozpost clients provide a reasonable guide as to the number of active online Australian stores at any given time, and although it may be argued that only a small portion of the total number of merchants use ozpost, there were several years that ozpost was about the only viable shipping option for Australian merchants, and it was provided 100% free of charge and had no competition, so even though it had the market cornered, there still wasn't (and isn't) enough Australian online merchants to make module development a commercially viable proposition.
It isn't a matter of apathy, it is a matter of numbers and economics. We simply don't have the numbers. I wish we did, I'd love nothing more than to be able to reduce the ozpost subscription costs by a factor of 10 if I could gain a 10x increase in the number of customers, but it isn't going to happen, we don't have the numbers.![]()
Cheers

Hi Frank,
I sent you an email from your page. Heres the links as well.

Apparently there's an oscommerce module for netregistry payments which someone who knows what they're doing should be able to customize for zen cart.
Yes, I was using paypal for a while but didn't like the costs and the service, so went to EWAY. At first it seemed better till my sales increased and I became aware of their short comings.
Now I want to give netregistry payments a try as they don't have transaction fees. I'm so sick of transaction fees, especially for transactions that are rejected but I get charged for anyway.
Let me know how you get on and if you need assistance of any kind.
That's the spirit Rod, can't win, don't try. I have a friend who loves to quote this very homer simpson expression. This friend is unemployed and living with his parents. Can't win, don't try, rules Australian business lives for, and the same rules Australian business will die for.
I'm a pathethic one man operation designing products and selling on-line. I remember my friends telling me I shouldn't bother as I couldn't compete with china, or the big players. I'm glad I didn't listen as I'd be broke now if I had. A few more years, and some hard work, and determination and maybe I won't be a small fish.
There are no guarantees in business, you just need to do it and hope for the best. All those that think "ahh, its not worth the effort" are simply not going to survive.
If I don't join up with netregistry payments because I didn't have the module they lose $500 per year each year. Thats thousands of dollars from me alone, and more importantly they lose free advertising as each satisfied customer will tend to talk about their experiences on line. When people get on the forums looking for recommendations about credit card processors netregistry payments will lose out because everyone will be recommending the people they've been using, the guys who did have the integration module, etc. Can't win, don't try philosophy will kick your ######## in the long run.
In short, just freaking do it, and hope for the best. It beats sitting on your arse, unemployed and living with your parents.
I sent you and email with a few thoughts.
Then I just scrolled down to the bottom of this page and looked at similar threads - and guess what: someone has ported this module and it is running on ZC.
See http://www.zen-cart.com/showthread.p...Payment-module
Would be worth a try contacting the poster and asking for a copy of their netregistry.php file.
Cheers / Frank
