As a footnote:

I reran the sql patch and got the Tools>Sitemap XML panel back and everything looks like it's working the way it should be, ahhhhh! Now to set up the Cron job.

While submitting to ask.com I got the following error.

Ask does not have an URL submit feature any longer. Ask.com has now retired this feature and says they will be crawling sites instead.

I have

XML Parsing Error: malformed
Location: http://giftseshop.com/sitemap/sitemapproducts.xml
Line 10, Column 74: <loc> http://giftseshop.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=243 </ loc>

What do i need to do to correct?

This is not a sitemapxml problem, this is a problem of the entire site.
You have somehow changed addresses generated by zen-cart. Instead of & character &. This is not correct. validator.w3.org
You use some modules, the "improve" link?

Is there a way to add another directory to my sitemap. For example, I have a sitemap for my zen cart site and the a subdirectory inside the folder for my site (i.e. /zen-cart site/blog/)

is there a way to add that blog folder to the sitemap?

Also after I did a 301 Redirect in .htaccess the sitemaps no longer work. How do I add www. to all of the links on the sitemaps. I've tried rebuilding them but it hasn't worked.
