Hi, Very nice template.
Now, I've been thinking, since the slides on main page are called from the templates\abbington_mega\tpl_home_slider.php how do I define a different set of banners for slide1, slide2, etc. in a SECOND language?
Please, advise,
Hello Anne - I really do need some help with this issue - after the dialogue with Diva recently in this thread I took her advice and posted the following in the 'Editable Home Page Centerboxes' support thread and received the response below;
POSTRESPONSEDiva, I am still having problems with the Editable Home Page Centerboxes plugin for V1.3.9h using Abbington Mega template. Anne's suggestion of maybe I hadn't merged includes/templates/abbington_mega/templates/tpl_index_default did the trick in restoring the New, Featured, Specials tabs on the main centre box however in doing that the editable centrebox would not load. I have spent some time reading and re-reading the installation instructions and have also re-loaded the installation files. I even deleted the zip folder from my hard drive and downloaded it again from Zen Cart to ensure I didn't have any corrupt files. I even loaded the plugin on to another site with this same template to see if I could get it to work but again to no avail - it is either editable centrebox showing but new, featured & specials tabs gone or it is maintan these tabs and no editable centrebox showing.
my site is http://www.treeoflifejewellery.com - I would appreciate it if you could look at page source and find my error.
many thanks,
MikeI now need your help (and that of Diva if necessary as she seems very familiar with this plugin) in trying to sort out this issue. Glenn's suggestion that I may not have merged a file correctly is valid IF there is more than one(1) file to merge. The installation instructions for the plugin showsFrom gjh42 - Both your featured and new centerboxes have content, but the whatsnew div is hidden by styling. Presumably this is for the tab operation; you must have some javascript that is supposed to make the tabs and switch action, but this is somehow disabled or absent. I don't think it is possible to tell more from the outside. You will need to check all downloaded files associated with template and middleboxes to see if there are any overlaps you have not yet merged. Perhaps you did not merge something correctly; someone familiar with both the middlebox and template code would have to look at that.- I have merged the first of those files but there was no includes/templates/abbington_mega/templates/tpl_index_categories.php file to merge the same name plugin file to. Just wondering if there is something in this?If your template already has the following files included includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_index_default.php, includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_index_categories.php
you will need to use a tool like Winmerge or Beyond Compare to merge your template's file with the one included in this module.
In any case I have tried all manner of adjustments to files to try to get it to work but without success (I reinstated ALL original files except modified css for middlebox). I am unsure whether I have done something wrong or missed something but whatever the case I really would like to get a resolution to this - I have a number of sites using your template and I want to use this plugin on all of them.
cheers,
Mike
I'll be happy to answer this question on the appropriate support thread for the Editable Home Page Centerboxes.. or the support thread for the Tabbed Home Page Modules (sorry..)
I am NOT hijacking the Abbington Mega Template support thread for a module related issue.. As I have stated previously MORE community members will benefit from the answer, not just the users of this template if the question and answers are posted in the RIGHT place....(and that is NOT here)
Hint: if you search the Tabbed Home Page Modules support thread for "tpl_index_categories.php", you might find your answer..

Hello Diva,
Thanks very much for your response but I am now utterly confused - I have already posted this query in the 'appropriate' support thread, so do I now await your response? I have now read every post in the Tabbed Home Page Modules support thread and not found an answer - could be for two reasons, I do not have that module installed (unless of course it is included by default in this template) and secondly I am not a coder (the answer may well have been there but my limited knowledge of coding obviously did not recognize it), I am just a very simple man of 60 years of age trying my best to make websites for my own purposes and sometimes, make that often, I need help and this is one of those occasions. I do try very hard to work by the rules in here so if I do 'stray' then some tolerance would be appreciated.
So with all banter aside, can you help me? ........... in the appropriate support thread of course.
cheers,
Mike
p.s. I know it is not the normally accepted protocol to 'double post' however because I am so confused as to where I should be posting on this subject I have posted this also in the 'Editable Home Page Centerboxes' support thread.
p.p.s. note that the version I am using is ......... Editable Home Page Centerboxes - Version: 1.1
How about some PATIENCE?? I was a little tied up, and I gave you a HINT where to find your answer in the meantime..
You posted a question (in the right place thank you) Glenn answered you.. and apparently you still need more information.. so you post here to get more information instead of replying to Glenn???

Diva - please read Glenn's response and particularly the last line which I took to indicate take it now to this person - how would you interpret it?hence posting in here where 'both' people read the thread with the delusional thought process of maybe one of them may be able to help - I haven't had a response from Anne yet so maybe she will be kind enough to offer her assistance about a non-template issue affecting how her template works or does not work with a plugin suggested by others in this forum. If not then I will trouble Glenn again ... now would that be with the same question which he has answered or would I need to rework the same question so as to make it appear different?Perhaps you did not merge something correctly; someone familiar with both the middlebox and template code would have to look at that.
It is becoming (sorry, read has become) obvious you do not wish to help me but are more interested in who is right and who is wrong, ultimately who is in control - you win.
kindest regards,
Mike
p.s. as you responded to me in here and not in the appropriate support thread I have responded to you in this inappropriate support thread
p.p.s. speed reading has its flaws right?
