Yes, I meant upload. I am unable to get the file to exist on the server. It just takes me to the admin login screen. I have tried to upload the Full/Complete file several times (more than 5) with making adjustments to the uploads directory. I can't get past the upload so am unable to import a single line item in a file (I tried to upload with a single line item though) nor am able to split the file since it doesn't upload. The export function is not working for me either. To double check my suspicion of thinking it had to do with using the ip address (using temporary url until domain name servers are changed), I tried to duplicate my efforts with another site that is using a temporary url and had the same result. The config files were created by zc via cpanel, but I am not certain if that is one in the same as the utility since this is the only way I have installed ZC with other sites. Thank you very much for responding, I typically don't post unless I am completely stuck.

Hmm, interesting indeed. You should be able to ftp the file and put it in the directory used by/for EP4. Then perhaps the import will take. I would say though, that it is not an EP4 issue. Perhaps folder permissions maybe don't allow the transfer or still could be a configure.php issue. Typcially it is not suggested to install cia the cPanle, but instead. By ftp and then go to the webpage address to install, rename the admin folder and basically remove the install folder. This is not to say that install won't work that way, but there have been known to be problems.

There may be something else going on also related to the store's setup as to why you are taken back to the admin login while under this temporary setup. But as said, if. Able to ftp the file to the right place, try to import. (And yes since can't upload, all the rest about importing doesn't help from my previous message.)

do you have a static ip for the site? if so, you can use the IP for the site rather than the http://server.domain.com/~cpanelusername/
shortcut. I HAVE seen issues with this before but don't remember how we fixed it. Using the IP has always worked for me though.

Haven't looked at the file, but from the reported errors, the data is missing either a unique model number for each item, or the fields header is not formatted (spelt) correctly. Easy populate ver 4 requires every unique item to have a unique model number. For first time uploading, the model number could be generated in the spreadsheet using whatever method desired, but will be the model number for that product until changed in the admin panel.

Okay, have looked at the file now. Couple of things: the fields are not comma separated, they are semi-colon separated. I think that's the first thing that may be an issue with the code, unless you modify the separator in the EP4 code or as part of OO creating the file. The other is that there appears to not be any quotes around the field data. This may be the way the file got downloaded from the storage location provided, or they may be missing. Some have had success without the quotes, but with them and the appropriate separator EP4 is successful.

To clarify for anyone else, essentially EP4 is detecting a row of data, but the row is being considered as one entire string and not separate pieces of information to incorporate into ZC. So it is not picking up any particular field especially the products_model field which does have data in it and therefore providing the error of no model number.

Thanks for your help mc12345678, I googled a bit more and found out the .csv file needs to be saved as a tab delimited text file, Open Office was saving it as something else, and was filling the fields with randomly generated data when saving, so Easy Populate couldn't read it.

Needless to say once I found that out it was such an easy process, I've got just over 4000 products in my store and it took about 2 hours! Plus importing images was so easy, this was the one thing I was worried about, but it took a few minutes :)

More than welcome. I thought atthe beginning of this thread there was a lot about how OpenOffice should be setup to handle a majority of the process, (though understand thatthere is still an issue possibly with a few of the languages and getting them to work with EP4), but glad you got it to work. Ihesitated from saying that it wasn't a true csv file, because I know some of the spreadsheet applications use other characters to identify a separator.

2 hours? Is that total time from start to finish of "recreating" your store, or was this EP4 processing time? There is areview going on to identify areas of improvement and if the 2 hour time frame had to do with EP4 pprocessing time, then perhaps some additionnal optimization should be sought.

It took 2 hours to edit the files (From Spreadsheets to the correct .csv format) and upload them to my site.
