I realize today as my son tried to browse ffpetsupplies.com with his new nitendo 3ds that our site is not mobile friendly.
The answer is obviously to change to a responsive template. That makes me a bit nervous about what might go wrong in the process, plus I really like the current template. It's perfect for what we sell.
Is there a way to make this site mobile friendly? I was thinking an add-on or some sort of re-direct to a mirror site.

Secondly what is the risk of switching to a responsive template I.E. All Business?

You can start from the Responsive Template Default package and convert it to look like this template. But I will warn you that this is very labor intensive. When I do this, the process takes me literally weeks including testing, etc. You will need strong css, php, and html skills.

That is way beyond my skill set.
Do you see any major obstacles (add-on modules included) if I were to simply change to a responsive template such as the All Business package?

No, zen cart is set up so that you can install any template that you want and switch between them. As always, if you have installed plugins that have files in the old template override directory, you will need to copy these to the new template override directory.

One of the issues we had when trying a mobile device was broken links for the categories and products page.
I have tested the site for broken links through a pc browser and it comes back clean.
I do have uri mapping installed.

Would be correct to assume that a responsive template won't help with that problem?

I checked ffpetsupplies.com with W3C mobileOK Checker. It found broken links as well.

Would a newer version of zen cart help with the issue?

Is behavior typical of zen cart?

This is not a template related problem. My guess is that it is related to your uri rewriting module. You have probably not copied over the template override files for the modules.

Anne I assume you were talking about the template override file included with the mapping module?
I decided (perhaps wrongly) to upgrade the the newer version of uri mapping while I was at it.
Now I am getting a blank white page when using the navigation from the left side box and some of the top links as well.
The mapping shows it was upgraded and does not show any errors with the diagnostic utility.
the site loads fine with the mapping turned off. I have double checked that the files went to the correct directories.
Is there an override switch that has to be turned on?
Do you think uploading my backup files cause it to revert to the former version?
I have posted on the mapping support page as well.
