    Testing:

    index.php?main_page=advanced_search&search_in_description=0&keyword=qwerty&inc_s ubcat=0&sort=20a

    Test completed.

    This is almost 100% definitely a 'problem' with the way the forum is handling things. The line above (like all the other pastings of this nature) looks *perfect* when pasted, but AFTER the message has been submitted the mysterious space is appearing.

    The line above is/was an example from one of my own servers. I have confirmed several times that there are no 'strange' characters (UTF8 or ISO-8859) in the text being pasted. It is somehow being modified after hitting the 'save' button.

    Try it yourself. :)

    ps. Trying a shorter version here: keyword=qwerty&inc_subcat=0

    More testing - Several pastings, progressively shorter URL's

    index.php?main_page=advanced_search&search_in_description=0&keyword=qwerty&inc_s ubcat=0&sort=20a
    index.php?main_page=advanced_search&search_in_description=0&keyword=qwerty&inc_s ubcat=0
    main_page=advanced_search&search_in_description=0&keyword=qwerty&inc_subcat=0&so rt=20a
    main_page=advanced_search&search_in_description=0&keyword=qwerty&inc_subcat=0
    search_in_description=0&keyword=qwerty&inc_subcat=0&sort=20a
    search_in_description=0&keyword=qwerty&inc_subcat=0
    index.php?keyword=qwerty&inc_subcat=0&sort=20a
    index.php?keyword=qwerty&inc_subcat=0

    ------------ end pastings -----

    Saved - 1st three antries appear with the space.

    Now seeing waht adding a few XXX does.. Will it 'move' the space?

    XXXXXXXXindex.php?main_page=advanced_search&search_in_description=0&keyword=qwer ty&inc_subcat=0&sort=20a
    XXXXXXXXindex.php?main_page=advanced_search&search_in_description=0&keyword=qwer ty&inc_subcat=0
    XXXXXXXXmain_page=advanced_search&search_in_description=0&keyword=qwerty&inc_sub cat=0&sort=20a

    --- Yes, the space has moved. It looks like it is a *positional* thing.

    All XXXX's
    XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXX

    Well, that seems to have proved the point. The forum is adding a space after a certain number of characters. (80 to be precise).

    Cheers

    Agreed, definitely a forum-related quirk, possibly triggered by the inc_s portion of the &inc_subcat?

    Obviously a special function to keep us all amused with an interesting challenge. ;-)
