Cart summary - Quantity Drop down selector

Hi

I would like a quantity drop down box for my cart summary page. When a customer selects a new quantity this also updates the cart allowing me to remove the update button and reduce customer errors where they may change the quantity but forget to update.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Just need to finish these last couple of things then will be able to get the databases fully populated and get the site uploaded.

What are the limits of the dropdown quantity available? 1 - 5, 1 - 10 ?

If I want to order 100 of your products I will need to type it in.

It may be beneficial to leave the quantity input field and add a dropdown 'quick select' of sorts to help customers populate the input field on the fly.

Ok i see the positives of leaving the customer entry field opposed to a dropdown this is no big problem.

How would i edit this to update on change? I really dont want an update cart button.

Current - Product page - shows qty input box + add to cart button
- customer can 'add to cart (qty 1) or type in qty then 'add to cart'.

Result
Shopping cart page/summary shows qty in cart, currently as an input box which the customer could then manually change.

Problem - customer needs to click update in order to get the 'new' qty to pass to the next checkout step.


You want to remove the update button.


What do you want the qty input box to do?
1 - remain as an input box - no update button - go to checkout 'updates' the 'new' qty.

2 - become static text - no update button - no changes to qty can be made anywhere in the cart steps - customer would need to navigate back to the product to make qty changes.

3 - hybrid - text input and dropdown (1-10 qty only) with update button4 - hybrid - text input and dropdown (1-10 qty only) without update button - go to checkout 'updates' the 'new' qty.
