Credit card option appears

Hello all,

I installed the Paypal Express option....when I go to checkout I am presented with 2 options....1 for Paypal....and 1 for a Credit card.

If you select the credit card option....does it actually go through a normal credit cart transaction or does it direct them to an internal Paypal page that USES their credit card?

I'm not planning on accepting credit cards outright....I want to funnel everything through PP...... Is this what I'm seeing or is this going to send me off to the credit card site?

what options are enabled (green circle) for modules->payments?

To only process through PayPal, then only PayPal (hopefully express) should be green. Other options will offer, well other options...

PayPal Express does not add a second or more selection into the checkout_payment page...

Well.....only PayPal Express checkout and check/money order are green....but when I go to 'sandbox' I can see the option to choose a credit card..... I wonder if, since I had to choose a credit card type to create the sandbox personal account, it's picking that up.??

I just went back and placed an order and used the credit card option. I'm in the sandbox and the purchase went through.....it showed a sale in my sandbox business account....but there is no record in the corresponding private account that any activity took place..... However if I make the purchase through the PayPal link the private account DOES show the money transfer.

Am I missing a tick box or something to turn off the credit card option?

If the only payment methods that you have enabled are PayPal Express Checkout and Check/Money Order, you should not be seeing a credit card option.

I've seen quite elegant hacks before that will "open up" a credit-card look-alike entry where they subsequently email themselves the credit card credentials ...

Are you talking a zencart payment window or a PayPal payment window which shows the "Sign into PP account" option and also a "Pay Using Credit Card" option below the PP signin?

I would attach an image but I get a message stating I have exceeded my quota and no option to remove anything.

To close the loop on this then, the credit card information will be processed by PayPal, you will only get a transaction identifier that they can link to the payment and associated details. You will not receive the actual credit card information as part of the transaction.

So, as described this is not an outright hack.

Help at all? Or still concerned about credit card processing and your payment method(s)?

Well.....it sounds like RixStix might be implying that it's coming from PayPal....if that's the case then is it just their way of processing a credit card through PayPal? If that's the case then, yes, the loop sounds closed.....
