HOME on main page

Hello all,

Is there any way to get the word "HOME" off the top of the main page? I went to the index.php file and deleted all the messages (I just deleted the actual text and not the code).....but that 1 word is still there.... Is there a way to make it disappear?

I went to Configuration>layout settings and turned off the customer greeting/message....but that didn't do it either.

I'm curious about what "messages" were deleted to which were referred?

Basically, where there is text not to be viewed on a particular page, either you use code in the file or a stylesheet to effect the object.

As I recall originally there was a generic....welcome...would you like to sign in message....I replaced it with my own phrasing.....then decided to backspace over it...leaving no message at all.....

I played around with the info in the link but didn't have any luck....I have about decided that it is not worth worrying about...It basically is just telling you what page you're on.....I was just trying to clean up the main page a bit....
