cart error Clean white theme. Should I make it available?

Hi guys I'm buy working on my clean white theme at the moment and was considering making it available publically once it's completed it anyone would be interested.

I know there's nothing similar so that's why i thought i'd ask. It can be seen at www.webofwebs.co.uk It's still a work in progress at this stage with new buttons still to complete and a few other minor changes but thought I'd get your thoughts and suggestions before it's completed and transferred to the new site for use there.

There can't be too many decent templates available, so I'd say yes, but I think you really want to consider making it responsive.

I hate mobile sites always have and always will but plan to make it more mobile friendly later.

Right, but stevesh is right.. making it a responsive template will make it much more useful for the Zen Cart community.. Raymond Barbour's responsive framework can EASILY be applied over the template to make it responsive..

if someone wishes to make an edited version responsive they are more than welcome but i'm not prepared to inflict mobile sites on anyone they're stupid and a pain in the ###### to use. I just don't want to be associated with responsive design for the same reason i never had anything to do with flash sites when they were the in thing.

I kind of understand where you're coming from, but it's what my customers want to use that matters to me, and increasingly they want to buy stuff from me using their tablets and phones. I really don't think you can compare the intrusiveness of Flash to a well-designed responsive site. I hope schoolboy will have something to offer. He's done a lot of research into this question.

    Definitely make it mobile friendly:

    Some recent stats:

60% of internet access is made from mobile devices
4 of 5 smartphone users use their smartphone to shop online
69% of tablet users have shopped online using their tablet

I always recommend to my clients to install a mobile friendly template, simply for the reasons above. Store operators can't afford to miss out on sales from mobile devices.

    Search engines favor responsive designs.

    Just my 5 cents

    **nods in agreement**

I feel ANOTHER endless discussion on the viability of mobile in web development coming on.. dealing with this at work as old school folks debte the merits of expanding online services to include mobile.. **yawn** I'll just lurk from the sidelines on this latest discussion.. Should be fun to watch..

    **carry on all**

I think if you don't want to make it mobile, don't. Your time is your time. And you even said you didn't mind if someone else did, so thanks for donating to the cause.

But I also know that I said I'd never shop mobile and I now do on my iPad. And I found my first app the other night that actually made me want to shop on my phone. I also know that my customer base is about 60% over 60 and the rest mainly 50-60. I though my mobile customers would be low but they are at 25% last time I looked.
