I know this is an old thread but Im also Interested In some kind of peer to peer Bitcoin module. The point of Bitcoin is to cut out the middle man and fees.

I created a bitcoin payment module off the Check/Money Order module. It uses an API on one of the exchanges to calculate the bitcoin amount, and then uses Google's QR code generating API to make a scan-able block that most payment apps can use. You can see it in action at my website, https://ksshedbuilder.com/store.

I don't really like it though. Its a hack, and doesn't have any callbacks to the store to update it when the payment is completed, or even if it has been initiated. I've seen implementations on sites that have live payments that I wish I had for my site.

ALFAcoins has an API that I'm learning and hoping to use to make a payment module for ZenCart.

An update:

I found a cryptocurrency processor that has a Zencart plugin. The company is Coinpayments.net. As a bonus, they work with US based businesses.

I had to tweak their payment module to get it to work correctly for my store, and I've tested it successfully with 1.5.5e.

You can accept up to 80 different types of cryptocoin with this solution.
