What would cause this?

The last couple of day's I have had some orders come through that get doubled. Meaning a person would place a order, pay for it via credit card or paypal and after he submits the order another identical order comes through. So far I notice on my paypal account that the customer only gets charged once. I use the Square Credit Card addon so I am hoping the customer only gets charge once. ( I will know later today)
But I don't understand why 2 identical orders for the same customer is coming through.

Can anyone help me out. I have changed nothing on the website for many months.

Thanks for this. I did not fine it on my own but it was worth a read.

I am still looking for what would cause this situation. The site has been always working fine with hundreds of previous order with no duplicates. It just start with the last 2 orders. Hoping someone can help.

Any changes recently been applied to the site/files/database? New mods or anything?
The 2 orders, are they both legitimate orders/customers?

No changes to the site in many months.

Both orders are legit. The first order I did call the guy to make sure he placed just one order before I notice in my paypal account that he was only charged once anyhow. So I just went into the admin of my site and deleted the other duplicate.

The second order that was placed using the Square plugin that is on the zencart site. I will know later if it was charged just once or twice.

Can you list all mods/plugins that you use, and confirm the version of ZC you are using please. Is your version an upgrade or clean install?

It does appear that the duplicate orders that were generated were also charged using the square plugin. I will have to issue a refund for one of the orders.

In that case I'd suggest you raise the issue in the support thread for that module. I haven't used it.

There have been a ton of changes to the Zen Cart core since v1.5.1, which is when COWOA 2.4 was released, many of them to do with the checkout process. My guess is that that's the source of your issue.
