Just found this because I'm having an issue, too.

I've been updating an old site that has been defunct for a while. I've updated the ZC files, and thought it went pretty smoothly. I've spent hours combing through the product listings, disabling everything that is no longer in stock; and that seemed to go fairly well.

But now I'm trying to add new products, and having all kinds of trouble. Everything seems to swim, 'til I hit "preview". If I'm adding a new product similar to an old product (via either "copy" or "add new"), the info for the old product appears -and I can't see the updates I've made 'til I publish it. Also, my every attempt to add a new image has failed...I do not know why. I've set my images directories to 777, no help. I've tried making my image sizes humongous in the configuration menus, but still get an error:

File is larger than allowed sizes. See Image configuration settings.

I have no idea what has gone wrong here.... Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If I upload the images manually via FTP, they display just fine; so the problem is somewhere in the configurations, or I don't have it set right to upload for some reason. ???

This has me stymied. It's not uploading any images, even though I've checked and rechecked all the image sizes in the admin>configuration>images menu. The images are only a few kilobytes, and the max allowed is supposed to be 128m, so that shouldn't be the problem.


Is there another place I should be looking? Somewhere buried in the scripts, maybe? All the images display once they're uploaded, so I'm sure the paths are correct, and the images directory is writable.

Would recommend doing a search using the developers toolkit to see if those specific words are in your install to then maybe see what is limiting that upload. The verbiage seems fairly specific to images which is abnormal for just a standard php error related to uploading.

The sizing referenced also may relate to the resolution rather than the file size. I don't recall there being such "rejection" response in an image handler software, but wouldn't surprise me if that were added in.

Yeah; the resolution is a good thought...I'll try one at 72dpi and see if that works.

When I search the toolkit, this is what I get:

So that still leads me to believe the problem is in the configuration settings...but I can't find it. I went through and changed each and every one of them to match the site that is running, but it still didn't work.

You're a genius! I searched the dev toolbox for "upload" looking for a max resolution setting, and discovered the "Maximum File Upload Size" was set to 0. I did that because for this shop I don't have any virtual products...but clearly that also means max image size, as images are uploading normally now.
