Default Re: Stripe.com payment integration module

The "Admin Customer Login" has been built into Zen Cart since 1.5.7. https://www.zen-cart.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=583 See the first line under Description.

As to PayPal and Stripe, customers have no problem using both as long as it's PayPal RESTful.

One thing that tends to confuse folks with that combo is the Confirm/Review Order button. PayPal selection keeps the Confirm Order button while Stripe changes it to Review Order. The latter takes the customer to a Stripe page to collect payment data.
    A little help with colors.

Hi, thank you for your reply.

So, before I install this mod, maybe I ask. Does this mean that it will somehow take customers to the payment method, where they see both Paypal and Stripe? I can't use Paypal pro as it's not available in my country, but Express works.

    Thanks

PayPal Express is going away and is being replaced by PayPal RESTful.

I don't have an example to look at that's not using One Page Checkout, so I can only address it.

When the customer enters their shipping/billing information, the page will show both payment options.

When the customer clicks on PayPal and then Confirm Order, the browser will open for the customer to fill in their PayPal credentials.

When the customer clicks on Credit Card, they enter their data and then click on Confirm Order.

When the customer clicks on Stripe and then Review Order, a new page will be presented for them to choose a payment method, enter the required data, and confirm the order.

Just to clarify this - it's being replaced in Zen Cart. PayPal still very much supports Express Checkout and they didn't announce anything about shutting it down - they're only terminating PayPal Standard.

I very much like PayPal RESTful, lat9 has done a fantastic job with the plugin, but I opted to use Stripe only and accept PayPal payments through Stripe. So, when you come to my checkout, you're presented with one option only (stripe: card payment or paypal). When you continue, you get to the confirmation page where Stripe is loaded and have the option to choose card or PayPal. You just need to enable PayPal in your Stripe dashboard so it can connect to your PayPal account. Payments basically do go to your PayPal account, but are automatically transferred to your Stripe account. I find this setup MUCH easier to handle as all of my payments are in one place.
Depending on your location, as well as your customer's location, Stripe may show additional payment options such as Klarna, AmazonPay and other options (if enabled in your Stripe dashboard).

Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! I have now installed the mod and it works perfectly. Thank you again.

    Thanks for this info.

I also have Stripe and use it for Credit Card and a local paying method for switzerland. I am hesitant to add Paypal to Stripe because the Stripe fees are less than Paypal direct. What worried me about this option was, how are the Paypal fees calculated? Do we pay the (lower) Stripe fees and then some additionally hidden costs that go to Paypal? Just one example. Stripe's fix transation free is 0.30CHF, where as Paypal is 0.55CHF. Percentage of sale is also different.

The other issue is, when customers open the (local Twint) payment method, it doesn't show my business name, it shows Stripe UK, this also shows on the customers bank statement. If I want it to show my company name on the statement, I need to pay 10CHF per month for my company name to show up on statements.

But I do appreciate this information, and will keep it in mind, thank you.

I believe the fee is slightly higher when using PayPal through Stripe, but I didn't really check - for me personally, the convenience of having everything in one place is worth the extra cost. But keep in mind this is all individual and fees vary by country so it's really hard for me to tell what's better in your case. For example, PayPal always charges me a fee to withdraw to my bank account, while Stripe withdrawals are free for me. So, at the end of the day, having it all centralized with Stripe costs me pennies more, but I enjoy the convenience of having everything in one single place... You'll have to check your fee structure and do the math to see what works best for you.

Successful Amazon Pay transactions are not logged into Zen Cart as a completed sale, while regular credit card purchase are. Suggestions welcome!

I've got no means to testt the Amazon Pay transactions, but still a couple of questions:

    What version of Zen Cart?
Is this using the built-in 3-page checkout or the Onepage Checkout (OPC) plugin?
