New Install Admin error

New installation, new database, everything clean. Installing latest full release, I get this when I try to log into the admin:

The admin activity log table is empty, this is a clean install, no mods, and the first time I tried to access the admin area. It never asked for a password.

Never mind, I fixed the problem. Somehow, uploading the english.php in the admin directory - my FTP program garbled the end of the file. All fixed now :)
