Tabbed Products ''LITE'' version - Delimiter based

I have got the Tabbed Lite template set up on my site and I love just about everything about it. In running through and adding some test products I noticed something I havent been able to correct.

When using the Tabbed Lite set up it forces my 'Add to Cart' box, 'Tell a Friend' box, 'Write a Review' box and the shipping weight, stock and manufacture info down to the bottom of the page. I have been searching everywhere to try and correct this.

I found out how to control the width of the tab box that has focus by adding a width statement to the css in the following:

.ditch-tab-skin-default .ditch-tab-pane-wrap {
position:relative;
z-index:9;
border:1px solid silver;
padding:8px 15px;
}

I just added a width statement to that and it changed the width but had no affect on the placement of the affected items above.

I then went into the tpl_product_info_display.php file that is provided with Tabbed Lite and found the following there:

starting around line 240

echo '<table width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">';

There were a few entries like that and I tried changing them individually with no luck. I dont know if I need to change all of the entries as well as change/remove the style="display:block; statement that accompanies each of the divisions that contain the table statements above.

I love the Tabbed Lite template but I dont know what to do about the items that are forced to the bottom of the page. It would seem its possibly a CSS thing, but Im not sure what to look for.

Ive tried doing my homework and checking as best I know how and Im at a loss so Im hoping someone here has an idea of what to do. The 'Tell a Friend' and 'Write a Review' parts I dont care if they are at the bottom, but I really would like the 'Add to cart' and the shipping and stock information near the product information.

EEP! you are using version 1.x of TabbedLite.. I'm not even sure where you found that . The tab system is actually completely different now in version 2.x and 3.x. I don't support 1.x any longer. Please completely remove the version you installed and install the latest 3.6AE version. That should fix your problems as well. Download it from the link in my signature.

Okay, I messed something up. Hopefully someone has an idea, though I'll keep searching for a solution from my end.

I installed the new version of Tabbed Products (after uninstalling the old version) and now im getting the below error message from the product display page (shows up at the very bottom of the page). When I go to the admin side and try to access the product from there to revise the description I see the same error message there and my product list doesnt show up.

I'll keep looking for what I messed up. I dont know how to undo the sql patch. The store is not online yet but I had pretty much most of it set up the way I wanted but only had a couple test products in there to work out the final details. Thanks in advance for any help.

Okay, went to Tools > Layout Box Controller and did a reset and everything seems fine now. Product list on the backend shows up and Im not seeing any more error messages.

You also have another option. I see on your site you have a drop down box for background options. There is an option in the attribs area that you can have an image for each of the options you offer. I am not sure tho if it switches on the fly when you select a different option.. i dont think so at this time. But With some modifications, I could put the attribs on their own tab and you could use this method. But this could also be confusing if the backgrounds are on a diff tab and people dont see them and end up gettin a bg they dont want or get an error talkin about something and they aren't smart enough to figure it out.

Well. to have it the way you want it, you'd either have to make your own module that acts like the additional images module that uses those extra images and displays them dynamically. Or you can do it the easier way and directly code them into the product description and just use html to create a table. Then if I can easily pull the attrib code and put it on that tab, you could have the drop down up top, and the images on the tab.

I think that way would be the easiest since I would not have the first clue about writing a module, but I can hard code html. Thanks for all your help!

On the Admin side for the configuration of Tabbed Products, the only thing there is an option for Global Product Description Tab. Are there supposed to be more options that that?

Reading the Readme.htm file I got the impression that there were more configuration options on the backend side. As well under Admin > Config I have two menu listings for Tabbed Products Config. Anyone have any ideas?

Now that Ive said all that, let me tell you the ways I love this contrib. I have messed with a lot of ecommerce (open source) solutions out there and this contribution has to be the finest of any third party contribution I have ran across.

The whole Tabbed Product concept is wonderful and affords you a ton of flexibility. I really REALLY hope they would not only consider but make this a permanent part of ZC.

Its a tad bit more work setting up the <!--% tags as I had to give thought to the tab names and then with each product I have to cut n past that into the editor then add the relevant information, but for what it affords you in flexibility it is well worth it.

So hats off to qhome for not only putting this out there but for the outstanding support he is providing for this contribution.

Im glad you like it. :) Concerning your admin panel showing only one menu option. This is a problem affecting a small handful of people. The best way to fix it is to manually fix the configuration_group_id in phpmyadmin to point to the correct configuration_group_id.

However, I just had another idea that might work. I might be able to write either a sql script to correct the numbering OR a script that uses a forced super high number like the user_tracking contrib to ensure proper table creation. Give me till tomorrow to work on that and see if I can find a better solution for those having this problem.
