Default Banner visible on specific pages

    Hi,

how do I configure that the banner (wide-banner) is visible on spesific pages, according to the category? So, I want that the banner on category 1 is different than in category 2. I need on 4 different categories their own banner picture to appear, otherwise can be something else or change randomly.

Nobody has any idea for this?
(I have had bad luck lately, made many different questions about ZC and no answers... that's life I guess.)

If I am understanding what you want...Try creating the image that you want displayed that you are calling a "Banner" and in the admin > catalog > categories/products > edit a category > attach the image to the category in the "Category Image:" function box.

This will display the image only when the category is selected. You will have to adjust the image size to display in admin > config > images > Category Icon Image Width - Product Info Pages and Category Icon Image Height - Product Info Pages - as this is intended to be an "Icon" image

See if this does not satisfy what you seek

Thanks for your answer but I really want a real banner to be shown on specific categories pages. I though that would have been actual thought already in the banner management structure but atleast I do not find such option.

FOR EXAMPLE: Banner is an advertisement and if one advertiser is interested in putting his banner of printers that are related products of my category of "printing material", he is not necessarily interested in putting his banner for the page of selling socks in the same shop. On the other hand I may have another banner advertiser who is selling shoes and is interested in putting his banner on the page of socks indeed.

Maybe this example above clarified my need for the banner. ;)

What you want, while not a native function, is possible but will require a bit of custom coding.

Ah, ok, so it was not that I would have been blind not seeing the option somewhere in the jungle of admin. I guess I am not able to make any coding like that then. Funny, that it was not thought the banners should be category sensitive. Every day we learn more...

We will keep that in mind for the future ...

For now, just adding a case statement to run the different Banner Groups based on the Category could be used to manage this ...

No, I haven't figured how to make the "case statement" Ajeh mentioned required for this since I'm not a coder really... I have the feeling it would not even be difficult, maybe some few lines of code to put somewhere but how?
