I have googleSitemap on my website.

I set product change frequency by 'monthly', and categories change frequency by 'weekly'.

What will happen if I forgot to update the page?

    Will google drop mysite?

And also, on main homepage, There is the 'new products of this month' that is dynamicly change everytime when customers visit the web. 'Will google count this as an updated page?' Or do I have to update the main page manualy?

Im not sure about this. Can someone please explain the easiest way to update your web pages regularly to make google loves your site.

    Re: Google SitemapAdmin

i'm sorry i havent read the whole list of threads for that topic.

i'm having a error generated when i try to upload the sql patch for that goggle sitemap mod. Here it is:

    Code:
1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that
corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'true', 'false'),')' at line 1

    in:
[INSERT INTO devi_configuration values ('', 'Compress XML File',
'GOOGLE_SITEMAP_COMPRESS', 'false', 'Compress Google XML Sitemap file',
     @t1, 3, NULL, NOW(), NULL, 'zen_cfg_select_option(array('true', 'false'),');]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and
re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank
    fields.
Maybe someone knows what's wrong, do you?

    Thanks

If you had read the whole thread, you'd have found your answer. Go to message #17, Andrew uploaded a new sql file.
Currently using ZEN CART v. 1.3.6

    Hi everyone,
I have looked around quite a bit and have not seen reference to this problem. Everything works great at admin. I have run the upgraded sql from post #17 which added "google xml sitemap" to the configuration tab. and everything seems to go great. I create the files and zencart tells me that the files have been created sucessfully. I ping google and get a message that says " Your Sitemap has been successfully added to our list of Sitemaps to crawl." At google sitemaps it says pending and then comes up with the error "Unsupported file format
Your Sitemap does not appear to be in a supported format. Please ensure it meets our Sitemap guidelines and resubmit." Does anyone know about this, or if I have missed it can you point me to a thread that explores this error.
    Thanks,
    Sean

I am getting the following error message when trying to install the sql patch. I am running version 1.3.5. Any help would be great.

1136 Column count doesn't match value count at row 1
    in:
[INSERT INTO zen_configuration values ('', 'Compress XML File', 'GOOGLE_SITEMAP_COMPRESS', 'false', 'Compress Google XML Sitemap file', @t1, 3, NULL, NOW(), NULL, 'zen_cfg_select_option(array(\'true\', \'false\'),');]

Anyone able to help with this?

So it is trying to write to \googlesitemap.php in the main directory. To set write permissions correctly for this file would mean setting write permissions for the entire cart to 777.

The answer to this would be to move the googlesitemap.php file to its own directory, and set the permissions for that accordingly.

I tried fiddling around with the php code to point it to a the new directory, but couldn't get it to work. My php skills are very poor though.

Can anyone suggest what code I need to get it to point towards GoogleSitemapAdmin/googlesitemap.php ?

    Thanks in advance...
    Kind Regards,
    Andrew

As I recently created a 1.3.6 site from a 1.2.7 site, my first goal was to create a google sitemap that would include things like ezpages, some of my static html pages (I can use ez-pages to direct links to them, I think(?)).

Anyway, I see that 1.3.6 has Google XML Sitemap built in to the Admin. And it appears to only do catagories and products. I am not totally sure of the differances between the Admin version and this mod. And I state this after doing a lot of searching in forums. Its a bit confusing with all the other versions involved.

Is this mod what I would need to get additional links submitted to google? Or should I go about my plan in a differant way?

    Thanks,

You know, you may have found something I should of realized. That explains the lack of forum conversation about it.

Yes I did add this contrib to my 1.2.7 site but never used it. When I upgraded recently, I built 1.3.5 from scratch, with no mod carry overs (its all a blur right now, but that's how I remember it) then went to 1.3.6, but always used the original 1.27 DB. So maybe the DB must have made these admin changes or I need to see if I accidentally moved over some files.

So then I must conclude that there is no built in google sitemap.
And does that mean I am out of luck for my ez-pages and html pages?
