    Inserting PHP code in Product Description

    If you insert PHP code in the Product Description field, it is ignored. Is there any way to include it?

    This would offer many advantages - for example you could use language defines to insert frequently used text in the product description.

    If you wanted to include a disclaimer on the bottom of your product description, you could simply add it to the language file:

    define('DISCLAIMER', 'Please note that we don't guarantee hardware or software compatibility!');

    then just insert it in the product description

    <?php DISCLAIMER ?>;

    That would make it very easy to edit if your disclaimer were to change, instead of editing x number of products. Also, it would reduce database size tremendously.

    This is only one application, there are thousands more...

    Any ideas?

    I second that, I had to edit 100+ of products once because I wanted to add like 1 line of text... it would be great if we could execute php codes within the product descriptions :)

    help question Re: Adding New Product_types

    Ok, I realize this thread is old, but I'm curious -
    does the product type add-on 'books' work with the latest release?
    If not, is there hope of another product type addition?

    Thanks!

    Hi!

    Moku's "Product type book" (http://www.zen-cart.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35389 works fine with the 1.3.6 version of Zen Cart.

    Sorry for a second back to back post.

    Are the instructions back in 2004 still valid for adding a new product type? If not is there an update I missed someplace that is compatible with v1.37?

    thank you,

    betty

    We added a new product type, however the items listed using that type do not show up in the products list when trying to add featured products.

    How do I get them to show up in the products available to be featured products?

    thank you,

    betty

    here I am replying to myself again!

    Did I perhaps ask the above questions about products not showing up in the items available for featured listings on my new product type in the wrong thread? Should I have created a new one instead?

    Or is it something that has been answered many times and no responses is meant to be a hint to make me search again (which will be the fourth time)?

    thank you,

    betty
